Padilla -- Benjamin "Benny" J. Padilla, 80, who was a residence of Bosque, NM passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2001 at his home. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Benny retired from the City of Albuquerque Water Department in 1977. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorencita in 1996; one son, Danny Baca; two brothers, Severo and Stanley Padilla; two nephews, Larry and Eloy Padilla; and one niece, Lucy Padilla. Benny is survived by two daughters, Rose Gomez of Los Lunas and Geraldine Hererra; two sons, Eliseo and Danny Baca, all of Albuquerque; thirteen grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Ernesto Padilla of Jarales and Cayetano and his wife, Mary of Belen; and one sister, Petrita Tafoya of Belen. Benny is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Eliseo Gomez, Brian Bowen, Robert and Joseph Serna, Stanley, and Robert Padilla, and Jake and Joe Baca.
