Franks -- Mary Franks, 90, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, September 18, 2001. She is survived by her sons, Rev. Raymond L. Franks Jr. and wife, Bethal of Albuquerque and Rev. E. Dale Franks of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren, Dale Franks Jr. of San Diego, CA, Rev. Brenton Franks and wife, Ruth of Albuquerque; Michon Henegar and husband, Rev. Mark Henegar of Roswell; great-grandchildren, Dillan and Shalyn Henegar, Tyler and Ashley Franks; and brothers, Leo Grubbs of Las Cruces and Bill Grubbs of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. R.L. Franks; brother, Daniel Grubbs; and two sisters, Esther Ferguson and Effie May Hyman. Mrs. Franks was a pioneer woman minister, traveling with her husband and conducting revivals in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. They also pastored together in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. After retiring, R.L. Franks built churches throughout the Southwest with Mary at his side. Services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2001, at 2:00 p.m., at Evangel Christian Center, 4501 Montgomery NE, with Rev. R. Kenneth George officiating. Interment will take place Friday, September 21, 2001, at 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Las Cruces, NM. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, September 20, 2001, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that remembrances be given in Mary's name to either Evangel Christian Center Memorial Fund or Evangel Christian Academy Foundation, both at 4501 Montgomery NE, 87109.
