Stokes -- Betty Jean Stokes, 71, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends on October 1, 2001. She was a native of San Jose, California; she retired to Medford, Oregon and had lived in Albuquerque, NM for the past three years. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Patten; one son, George Balcom and wife, Maria; grandchildren, Josh, Christy, Heather, and Nathan; great-grandson, Christian; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who loved and will miss her. A Memorial Service will be held at the Albuquerque Meadows Clubhouse, 7112 Pan American Freeway at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in memory of Betty Stokes to Lovelace Hospice, 5403 Gibson SE Albuquerque, NM 87108.
