Dorado -- Felix Dorado, 45, of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital, Albuquerque. He will lie in state Thursday, October 4, 2001 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel in Lovington, NM. A Vigil will be Thursday, October 4, 2001 7:00 p.m. at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 5, 2001, 3:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Lovington, NM with Father Dennis Fountain of St. Helena's Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Tatum Cemetery, Tatum, NM. Bethany Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Felix was born Wednesday, January 11, 1956 to Felix Dorado and Herminia Bermundez Dorado in Artesia, NM. He grew up in Tatum, NM graduating from Tatum High School in 1974 as Valedictorian. He attended NMJC and later Texas Tech where he received his degree in chemical engineering. He went to work for AMOCO where he worked for six years in Hobbs. He then opened Dorado Realty and K & A Appraisal in Albuquerque for over 19 years. His hobbies included anything with a high risk including rafting and hang gliding. He also enjoyed the outdoors and traveling and had a love for the ocean. He was Catholic by faith. Survivors include his mother, Herminia Dorado of Tatum, NM; three brothers, Agustin Dorado of Cape Cod, MA, Jose Dorado of Lovington, NM, Pedro Dorado of Danville, CA; three sisters, Marisela Dorado of Tatum, NM, Judith Dorado of Tatum, NM and Maria Dorado of Clovis, NM. Pallbearers will be Pedro Dorado, Hector Escobedo, Gary Blackledge, Larry Mendenhall, Juan Bermudez, Steve Neese, Saul Trevizo, and Tim Helmick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2929 East Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85016.
