Johnson -- Kelly Jean Johnson, age 28, born on April 23, 1971 in Albuquerque, passed away on Thanksgiving night, November 25, 1999. She is survived by her two beautiful daughters, Kaila Renae Esparza, age 5 years and Krista Maree Esparza, age 9 month. She is also survived by her mother, Irene Marietta of Crownpoint, NM; father, Levi Johnson, Sr. and wife, Doneen of Locust Grove, OK; one sister, Christine Sanchez and husband, Frank; their daughters, Savannah"Sissy" and Cheyenne"CheyChey baby" Sanchez; her three brothers, Kevin Johnson, Levi Johnson, and Lucas Johnson, all of Albuquerque; grandmothers, Louise Harper of Albuquerque, Mary Jane Trujillo of Ojo Encino, NM and Melinda Chuculate of Stillwell, OK; aunts, Mary Louise Askins and Elsie White Elk of Albuquerque; one cousin, Paul Askins and wife, Karen of Grand Round, OR; many numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from New Mexico, Arizona, and Oklahoma. Rosary will be recited Monday, 5:30 p.m. at French Mortuary-University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Funeral Services are pending. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Knowlton -- Marcelle Knowlton, 80, a resident of Albuquerque for 65 years, died Thursday, November 25, 1999 in Hillsboro, OR. She is survived by her son, James E. Knowlton, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Aloha, OR; son, Steven O. Knowlton and wife, Margie of Oklahoma; brother, James Harold Bottorff of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Aubrey F. Helbert officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Kozlowski -- John"Johnnie" Kozlowski, 70, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque died Monday, November 22, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Albuquerque; son, John of Albuquerque; daughters, Theresa Keyes and Julie Kozlowski, both of Albuquerque; brothers, Martin Kozlowski, Joseph Kozlowski and wife, Chris, William Kozlowski and wife, Alice of Albuquerque; sister, Rosemary Sanchez and husband, Jesus of Peralta, NM; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Mr. Kozlowski retired in 1983 from PNM after 30 years of service. He loved many sports, and was an avid golfer. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., November 29, 1999, at Calvary Temple, 5331 Montano Road NW, with Pastor Mike Dickenson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Maestas -- Jacobo"Jake" Maestas, 72, passed away November 27, 1999. He was born and raised in Taos, NM, was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, retired from Duke City Lumber Company, and was a member of Alameda Bible Church. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nettie Maestas; four daughters, Pamala Montoya, Kathleen Dodd and husband, Ken, Linda Malone and husband, Don, and Valerie Sanchez and husband, Glenn; son, Cliff Maestas and wife, Nancy; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; brothers, Ben, Florimel, and Tom; sisters, Viola, Corina, and Emily; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Alameda Bible Church, 220 El Pueblo NW on Tuesday, November 30, 1999 with viewing at 8:45 a.m. and Funeral at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Malcolm Bicker officiating. Mcgillan -- Edward Thomas"Mac" McGillan, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Wednesday, November 24, 1999. He is survived by his daughters, Marcia Hulick and husband, Jim of Houston, TX and Jeanne Brummell and husband, Gig of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, David Cummings, Scott Cummings and wife, Gretchen, Clint Cummings, Craig Brummell and wife, Marta and Linley Daly and husband, Michael. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth"Terry" McGillan."Mac" was known to have never met a stranger. Memorial Rosary will be recited Monday, 7:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University NE. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Annunication Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont NE, with Father Stephen Schultz, Celebrant. Sanders -- Local Albuquerque newscaster and radio personality for 40 years, Gordon E. Sanders died today of an extended illness. Gordon was the news director at KOB-TV from 1971-1979 and Editorialist at KGGM for several years. He ran for Mayor of Albuquerque in both 1981 and 1985. He was the Director of the Albuquerque Film Commission from 1985 to 1989. Mr. Sanders also hosted his own talk show on KZIA Radio for several years. He had been retired since 1994. Gordon Sanders was a man of many talents and interests. He authored a book on the famous Taos artist Oscar Burninghaus. He was an internationally recognized Wine Connoisseur, a stunt pilot and once was a celebrity chef at the Baron of Beef Restaurant in Old Town. Gordon's strong opinions touched the lives of many people who heard him. He was awarded Associated Press"Man of the Year" during the height of his broadcasting career. Gordon was a WWII vet and fought in nine major battles in the South Pacific. Gordon joins Barbara, his wife and professional partner of 25 years in death. He is survived by daughter Penny Sanders of Phoenix, AZ; son, Christopher Sanders of Medford, Oregon; step-sons, Richard and Clayton Rhys Wetherill; brothers, Jim and Calvin Sanders; sister, Sue Sanders; mother, Augusta Sanders. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 1, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Marks-On-The-Mesa Episcopal Church. In lieu of cards and flowers contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Society. Schafer -- Virginia Schafer, 58, an Albuquerque resident since 1962, passed away peacefully at the family home November 25 after a long battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband, David R. Schafer; and their children and grandchildren who gave her great joy: Cynthia Schafer, MD and son, Michael Forslund of Greeley, CO, Steve and Angie Schafer and children, Rachel and Kevin of Albuquerque; Tom and Teri Schafer and children Aimee, Kyle, Nathan, Nicholas, and David of Tijeras, NM, Chris and Erin Schafer and children, Meagen Rodriguez, Amber Rodriguez, and Joshua Rodriguez of Albuquerque and Phil and Diane Callow and children, JJ, Matt and Leah of Albuquerque; brother, Paul Martin of Lansing, MT. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Naomi Martin of Fowler, Michigan; and brother and sister, George and Jane Martin of Fowler and E. Lansing, Michigan. Virginia was owner and general manager of ABC Door Co. until her retirement in 1994. She loved the outdoors and was a Master Gardener. Virginia was a talented seamstress and active in the American Sewing Guild. An adventuresome person, she and her husband, David traveled extensively and enjoyed many outings in their RV. Virginia drew strength from her Living Through Cancer support group. The family will receive friends at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, and from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary on Sunday, November 28. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 29 at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge NE. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Brewer -- James (Jim) M. Brewer, MSgt. USAF (Ret), 81, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 22, 1999. A native of Albuquerque since 1952, he was also a member of the American Legion, VFW and DAV. He had received lifetime recognition by the Blue Max Society for his many years of service to the local general aviation community. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. Survivors include his sons Jim and Milt of California and Keith of Albuquerque; two sisters, and a brother in Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his wife, Marie L. Brewer, in 1991. Visitation is during the hour just prior to the 10:00 a.m. services at the KAFB Chapel on Monday, November 29. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery immediately after the services. Donations, in lieu of sending flowers, may be made in his name to your favorite charity. Clibon -- Helen L. Clibon, 64, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died on Thursday, November 25, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Gene Clibon of the family home; sons, Steve Shope and wife, Anne, and Tony Clibon and wife, Missy, all of Albuquerque; daughters, Judy Shope of Anthony, TX and Danielle Clibon and Betty Clayton and husband, Rick, all of Albuquerque; two sisters, Ruth Shope of Aztec and Bernice Simons of Albuquerque; three brothers, Bill Nelson of T or C, Joe Nelson of Tucson, AZ and James Nelson of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Kem Shope, Stephanie Shope, Will Clayton, Jenifer Clayton, Joetta Paul, Sarah Stevens, and Melinda Clibon; and great-granddaughter, Shelby McDaniel. Mrs. Clibon was born in Claunch, NM and moved to Albuquerque as a small child. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Danuser -- Charlie Aline Danuser, 66, of Lamar, MO, passed away at 4:53 p.m. Friday, November 26, 1999 at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, MO. She was born Nov. 18, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to Herbert L. and May (Parker) Fisher. She worked as a cashier at Lamar Wal-Mart, owned investment properties, and worked in real estate management. She attended Grace Christian Assembly. She was baptised Episcopalian. Mrs. Danuser married Richard L. Danuser, Sr. March 15, 1952 at Belle, MO. He survives. Additional survivors include one son, Richard L. Danuser, Jr., Lamar; one daughter, Kathleen Danuser, Tempe, AZ; her mother, May Fisher, Lamar; two sisters, Roxy Jett, Lamar and Phyl Rohlfing, Lamar; and one grandson, Richard L. Danuser III, Lee's Summit, MO. Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 1999 at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, MO. Rev. John Dille will officiate. Private Graveside Services will be held at Memory Gardens, Lamar. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home Contributions may be made to the church library of donor's choice. She lived in Lamar eight years, moving from Albuquerque where she lived 30 years.
