Criswell -- Oleta Criswell, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1937, died Thursday, August 8, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward Criswell; sons, Raymond Criswell of Las Cruces and John W. Criswell of Albuquerque; daughter, Lela Beth Criswell of Damascus, MD; numerous nieces and nephews; and friend and caregiver, Marie Lewis. In 1937 Oleta came to visit her sister and stayed to become a teacher at Washington Junior High School where she meet her husband, Edward. She taught at Los Padillas and Mountain View Schools. Mrs. Criswell was one of the first teachers to teach at Jefferson Middle School and she retired in 1974. She enjoyed needlepoint and gardening. Mrs. Criswell was a charter member of Heights Baptist Church and she also became a member of the First Baptist Church. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Monday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Daniello -- Beatrice Daniello, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976 went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2002. Bea will be remembered for her love of children and the hundreds of babies she cared for during her 20 years of service at Hoffmantown Church. She is survived by her sons, Peter J. Daniello and wife, Donna of Albuquerque, Ralph A. Daniello and wife, Debbie of Iowa and David J. Daniello and wife, Teri of New Jersey; eight grandchildren, Christine and husband Ken, Dena and husband Patrick, Amie, Jason and wife, Liz, Melissa, Kim, Casey and Michael; nephew, John Mineo and wife, Kyo of New Jersey; and great-grandchildren, Asante, Jade and Isabella. She is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Daniello; and sister, Marie Mineo. Services will be held, Tuesday, August 13, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary-Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Frangos -- Harris P. Frangos, 53, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002. He is survived by his mother, Bessie Frangos of Albuquerque; daughter, Demetra Frangos; sisters, Helen Dountas and husband, William all of Albuquerque, Florence Gabel of Tempe, AZ, Armida Stevens and husband, Gordon of El Paso, TX and Athena Pasley and husband, Pete of Ft. Smith, AR; brothers, Bill Frangos and wife, Adele and Nick Frangos and wife, Mary Lou, all of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James N. Frangos in 1969. Harris graduated from NMMI in Roswell and attended UTEP. Trisagion will be held Sunday, 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High SE, with Father Mario Giannopoulos officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Gilbert -- Roger Gilbert. A Memorial will be held for Roger Gilbert at the family home, 1624 Los Alamos Ave. SW, Albuquerque on Saturday, 17 August 2002 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p,m. The event will be informal, as he would have wished. Family and friends can drop in during the afternoon to share stories and good memories. Mr. Gilbert, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died 1 July 2002.

Hawley -- Marguerite Rose Hawley, age 79, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully in Santa Fe on August 7, 2002. Marguerite was born in Fonda, Iowa on June 23, 1923 and moved to Albuquerque in 1928 with her mother, father, sister, and three brothers. Marguerite attended St. Vincents Girls School and was a graduate of Albuquerque High School. Marguerite was an employee at the lovelace clinicfor 22 years. Through her loving and caring, she dedicated her seventy-nine years of life to her wonderful husband and three children. Marguerite will be truly missed. Marguerite was preceded in passing by her loving husband Clifford J. Hawley Sr., a member of the State Legislature and a Republican candidate for Governor in 1966 and 1968; daughter, Jean Marie Hawley; Grandson Scott W. Chowning; father, Raymond Gannon; mother, Mattie Gannon; brothers, Raymond Gannon, a marine survivor of the Iowa Jima campaign, Harold and Charles Gannon, survivors of the Bataan/Corregidor campaign and interment at Cabanatuan Prison Camp. She was also preceded in passing by her brother-in-law William L. Hawley who perished while captive at the Cabantuan Prison Camp. Marguerite is survived by her daughter Eileen A. Wright; son, Clifford J. Hawley Jr; sister Benita Cline; brother-in-law, Thomas A. Hawley; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. All family and friends of Marguerite Hawley are invited to attend graveside services and burial on Monday, August 12, 2002 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE, Albuquerque.

Herren -- Gary 59, a resident of Albuquerque, died unexpectedly, July 29, 2002 in Sacramento, CA. Gary, born in Hugo, OK is survived by two children, Rebecca Maxey and husband Skip and son Richard, both of Modesto; two foster children, Denise Glover, Modesto and David Glover, Albuquerque; brother, Jim Hallmark; sister Joy Lucero and husband Joe; several nieces and nephews. Gary graduated from Valley High School in 1960 and served four years in the U.S. Army before settling in California where he owned and operated convenience stores. He later returned to Albuquerque and was forced into retirement by COPD. A memorial service and interment of cremains will take place August 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetary. Higbie -- Jeanne Strobel Higbie, an Albuquerque resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2002 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on April 30, 1928 in Washington D.C. She lived over thirty years in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as a Navy wife and during retirement. She and her husband, James C. Higbie moved to Albuquerque in 1989. Family was very important, and she loved being a wife, mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her husband always had a circle of wonderful friends with whom they shared many fun times and fond memories. She worked on the Four Hills MHP newsletter and was the MHP Lion's Club treasurer. She liked reading, puzzles, bowling, bridge, making driftwood furniture, electronic appliances, watching football with her husband, and taking trips in the U.S., as well as a trip to Egypt and Italy. She is survived by her son, Jim Higbie and his wife, Mary Alice of Albuquerque; her daughter, Dena Dollar and husband, Benny of Grand Prairie, TX; grandchildren, Tessa, Daniel, Josh, and Cinnamon; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Isaac, and Matthew. There will be a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2002 at Chapel of Sandia, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Howey -- JoAnn Howey, 71, Christian, wife, mother, sister, and daughter, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, August 8, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Hugh Howey, of Albuquerque; daughters, Sandra Russell, Terrie Howey, and Dana-Howey Suazo and husband Silas, all of Albuquerque; son, Warren Howey of Albuquerque; sister, Karen Jones and husband, Johnny, of Miami, AZ; brother, Jay Irving of Globe, AZ; four grandchildren, Matthew Shoberg, Sarah Suazo, Miguel Suazo, and Joseph Ulibarri; and two great-granddaughters. The family would like to thank the many wonderful friends, neighbors, and family who gave their love and support through this long, difficult time. Lewis -- Vona Lewis, 66, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, died Saturday, August 10, 2002. She is survived by her son, Dave Lewis of Washington State; brothers, Roy Moore of Reserve, NM, and James Odle and wife, Amelda of Tatum, NM; four nieces and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Odle and Virginia Jimerson; sisters, Connie Jo Brady and Virginia (Ginger) Thoma; nephew, Roy (Butch) Moore; and great nephews, Justin Kitchens and Jarred Odle. Vona was born at home in the Gladiola Community east of Tatum, NM. She attended school in Lovington, Monument, and Hobbs, NM. While in school, she played in the high school band and was a member of the Glee Club. Vona was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. During her years of employment, Vona worked 4 years for Harvey Accounting in Roswell, NM for 16 years, Burke Concrete in Phoenix, AZ and 22 years for Baldridge Lumber in Albuquerque. She retired in 1999. Before retiring, Vona had articles on Credit Management published in a National Credit Magazine. She was Employee Of The Year, 1990-1991, and upon retirement, she was given the President's Award. Services will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Mark Sutton officiating. Marron -- Joyce L. Marron, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Thursday, August 8, 2002. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Lyman and husband, Thomas of Carlsbad, CA, Denise Marron-Taylor and Lisa Marron; grandson, Randy Martinez; granddaughter, Robin Martinez, all of Albuquerque; and brother, Richard Lawrence and wife, Irene of Hesperia, CA. Born in Long Beach, CA, she attended Long Beach City College and was one of the first graduates of Long Beach State College. Mrs. Marron moved to New Mexico and taught first grade at Wherry School. She became"Miss Joyce" on the nationally syndicated show"Romper Room" shown on KGGM Channel 13 in the late 50's and early 60's. Then she began a long tenure as"Mrs. Marron" on KNME"TV Kindergarten" which was the official kindergarten for APS in the 60"s. She was presented the prestigious McCall's"Golden Mike" Award, awarded for excellence in broadcasting. She received a congratulatory telegram from President Kennedy. After retiring from television she taught kindergarten at Matheson Park Elementary for several years and retired from APS. Cremation has taken place and Niche side services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
