BRYAN -- Captain George R.Bryan,Jr. USN, 83, passed away quietly on Tuesday May 11, 2004. George was born and raised in Cleveland,Ohio. He spent the last 32 years of his life as a resident of Albuquerque. He served his country as a naval officer for more than 30 years, seeing combat in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. More importantly, he served his fellow man everyday of his life - always giving far more than he took. There were no clouds in George's world - only silver linings. Every single person whose life was touched by George was better for that experience, from young sailors under his command to the countless charitable endeavors that he undertook to the widows at his church that he took grocery shopping. Devoted Catholic, father and husband, humanitarian, avid baseball fan, spinner of Irish jokes and stories, and purveyor of human joy, George would ask that we not grieve his passing but that we celebrate his life by helping others everyday of our own lives. Come visit George and say goodbye on Tuesday, May 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald and Sons Funeral Home, 3113 Carlisle NE.
