Saiz -- Emilia Saiz, age 91, a resident of Alameda passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2003. Emilia was a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics and best of all, spending time with her family. Emilia was preceded in death by her husband Jose I. Saiz in 1984. She is survived by three sons, Alex Saiz and wife Barbara, Benny Saiz and wife Connie and Joe Saiz and wife Lupe; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who knew and loved her. Visitations will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will be Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. White -- Raymond White, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, died on Friday, January 10, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Philomena White; sons, Frank Sarro and wife, Clorinda, and Audie White and wife, Lisa, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Michele Briody and husband, Tom of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ryan and Victoria White and Samantha Briody; brother, Robert White of Bristol, CT and sister, Pearl Satagjay of Middletown, CT. Karnas -- Chestin Thomas Karnas, 18 months, was emancipated to the angels on January 7, 2003 while in the loving arms of his family. Chestin was a beautiful boy whose courage and will to live touched all those who met him. Chestin was born with a rare genetic disorder, Sialic Acid Storage Disease, and through all his turmoil he offered miles of smiles, his deepest love, his faith and his hope. He was truly one of God's blessed little angels. The things Chestin liked most in life were the familiar voices of his many siblings, feeling the breeze through his long blonde hair, jogging daily with his mom, doing therapy sessions, traveling to the beaches of North Carolina, and most of all listening to his parents' delicate songs and rhymes. Chestin is survived by his mother and father, Mary Ellen and Chet Karnas; sister, Harley Elizabeth; brothers, Mason, Peter, Izaak and Skylar; grandparents, Marianne Karnas, and Tom and Elaine Corcoran; great-grandmother, Pearl Notartomaso; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Chestin's family would like to thank his doctors at UNMH, especially Dr. Ben Hoffman and Dr. Leslie Morrison; his favorite therapist at RCI, Gina Timms; his OT, Annie Gallagher; his PT, Karen Lucero; his visual therapist, Lin Coachman; his medical equipment supplier, Oscar Anderson; his hospice nurses at VistaCare, Deanna Dyke and Mary Driscoll; his nurses at UNMH; and all others who opened their hearts to our special little boy. Chestin was able to play the part of baby Jesus during Christmas Eve Mass at the Newman Center just before his death, it was a moment cherished by all who participated. A Mass will be said for Chestin at the Newman Center on Friday, January 10, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a brief ceremony celebrating his liberation immediately following at the UNM duck pond. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Chestin's memory to be given to UNMH Children's Hospital, 700 Lomas NE, 2 Woodward Center, Suite 100, Albuquerque, NM 87104.

Saiz -- Erlinda Saiz was born July 18, 1924 and passed away January 8, 2003. She went to join the Lord and her husband, Max Saiz. Erlinda was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin Padilla; and sisters, Connie Goldsberry and Reynalda Sanchez. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Ruiz and husband, Peter; two grandsons, Thomas Ruiz and Michael Saiz and wife, Yolanda; five great-grandchildren, Michael Jr., Melissa, Andrew, Jeremy, and Kristella; one brother, Emiliano Padilla and wife Corliss; one sister, Gertrude Padilla and husband, Florentino; numerous nieces, nephews, cousind, other family and friends who loved and will miss her. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2003 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, on Edith between Los Ranchos and Ranchitos NW. A Communion Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2003, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel with burial following in the cemetery. Zdunek -- Estell O. Zdunek, 85, of Albuquerque, passed away at Valle Norte Caring Center in Albuquerque. She was born on May 15, 1917, in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee and moved to Albuquerque in 1959. Estell is survived by her six children, Helen Dew, Dennis Zdunek, Tom Zdunek, and Donna Zdunek all of Albuquerque, Leeanna Travis, of Santa Fe, NM, and Roland Zdunek of Coral Springs, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. As the ravages of Alzheimer's Disease slowly took Estell away from her family and friends, she was finally call to her Lord on January 4, 2003. Her remains will be laid to rest in Turner Cemetery near Hermitage Springs, Tennessee next to her parents and other family members. She will remain forever in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.
