ARMIJO -- Albert Armijo, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and member of a prominent pioneer family dating back to the 1700s, passed away on July 10, 2006. He was 80 years old. Albert was a passionate political activist whose presence was felt in the Democratic Party from the ward level to the state level for many years. He honorably and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, serving in the South Pacific. As a young man, he became active in the union movement and was a member of the Boilermakers International Union. He was involved in many successful negotiations and positive changes. Albert was preceded in death by his mother and father, Amalia and Nestor Armijo. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eppie; daughter, Kathy Kloeppel and son-in-law, Ken Kloeppel; and granddaughter, Jenna Kloeppel. He is also survived by his three sisters, Bonnie Griego and husband, Fred, Mable Baca and husband, Ray, and Sarah Chavez. Also, brothers-in-law, Bill Bachicha and wife, Rose, Tomas Bachicha and wife, Betty, Joseph Bachicha and wife, Clara, Dr. Robert Bachicha and wife, Maria; and sister-in-law, Anna Bachicha Reynolds and husband, Anthony. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed and loved by everyone who knew him. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2006 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE with a Rosary to follow. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 14, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper St. NW. at 10:00 a.m. with Bill Bachicha, Thomas Bachicha, Joseph Bachicha, Dr. Robert Bachicha, Anthony Reynolds, John Silva, and Chris Silva serving as pallbearers. Fred Griego, Ray Baca, and Kenneth Kloeppel will be serving as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE.

LUCERO -- Gilbert R. Lucero, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Camerina Lucero; daughters, Gloria Leslie and husband, Mike and their children, Christopher and Maria and her husband, John; Rosemarie Sprick and children, Jennifer, Theresa, and Debra; Lori Hungate and children, Daniel, Angela, Joshua, Elliot, and Nathan; grandsons, Mario and Ray; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Jim Furiosi; and many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Furiosi; son, Rolando Lucero; and son-in-law, Gary Sprick. Gilbert served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a German POW. He loved gardening, fishing, and chocolate covered grasshoppers. A memorial Rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Ennichement will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. ARAGON -- ELOY On Sunday, July 9, 2006 the good Lord called our beloved Eloy to rest. Eloy was born in Cuba New Mexico on March 13, 1933 to Rafael and Maria Aragon. Eloy was raised in Cuba and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the oilfield for El Paso, Shell Oil, and Giant Industries for 43 years. Eloy served with the Cuba Fire Department and was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time at the race track after he retired in 1998. Eloy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mercedes "Mercy"; and a daughter, Maria Bernadette Aragon. He is survived by three brothers; five sisters; sons: Richard (Kim) Aragon of Farmington, Diego (Luella) Aragon of Albuquerque, Ralph Aragon of Farmington, and James D. (Valerie) Aragon of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Adrienne, Lauren, Erin, Lucas, and Janae Aragon and Avren Pacheco; numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Aztec, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. A special thanks goes to the Bridge staff and residents, Northwest New Mexico Hospice, and the Cancer Center. GUTIERREZ -- Daniel Gutierrez Sr., age 57, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called to his heavenly home by the Lord our Savior, Wednesday, July 5, 2006, while visiting in Phoenix, AZ. He was a life long resident of Carnuel and Edgewood, NM; and member of the East Mountain Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lorraine Gutierrez of the family home; his children, Daniel Carlos Ben Gutierrez and wife, Tammy, Anthony Alex Gutierrez and fiancee, Laura Lopez, Filomeno Roberto Juan Gutierrez and fiancee, Lori Jiron, Maria Ursula Beard and husband, Kevin; his foster-son, Chris Sena; and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Virgil Gutierrez, Santiago Gutierrez, and Ponciano Gutierrez Jr.; four sisters, Patricia Campbell and husband, Dean, Levy Jaramillo and husband, Frank, Rita Rivera, Merilyn Gutierrez and Mike Maldonado; numerous other beloved family members and friends. MEDRANO -- Esther Medrano, age 92, passed away on Friday June 7, 2006, following a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. Esther was born on March 27, 1914 to Moises and Senaida Lucero who preceded her in death. She married Tom Medrano Sr. on August 27, 1931 in Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Medrano Sr.; her son, Tom Medrano Jr.; her daughter, Amelia Quintana; grandchildren, Debbie Dominguez, Tim Garcia, Jason Arreola, Kenneth Medrano, David Medrano; and son-in-law, John Work. She is survived by her children, Jimmy Medrano and wife, Celia, Christine Garcia and husband, Waldo, Robert Medrano and wife, Marlene, Theresa Work, Mike Medrano and wife, Consuelo, Phillip Medrano and wife, Dorothy Sanchez; daughter-in-law, Mary Medrano; son-in-law, Ed Quintana; sister, Elvira Rael; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Santa Maria de La Paz. STOREY -- Mable P. Storey, age 72, a resident of Casa Colorada, NM, passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2006 surrounded by her family and friends. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer since 1998. Mable loved her family very much and she worked with her husband, Eli running their cattle farm in Casa Colorada. She graduated from Belen High School in 1952 and married Eli in November 1955. Mable was a proud woman and a devoted wife and mother. She went on FFA trips to chaperone students and enjoyed working the polls on Election Day. Mable was a great cook and always had our favorite foods on hand when we visited. Mable's accounting skills were her passion. She had to-do lists for everything and could tell you the time, day, month, and year anything happened with her family and business. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mable was preceded in death by her eldest son, Roy Alan Storey; her brother, Dennis Perea; her parents, Maria and Manuel Perea; and her parents-in-law, Jesus and Toribia Storey. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Eli R. Storey; her four sons, Ron and wife, Lisa, Woody and wife, Pam, John and wife, Sonya, and Dino and wife, Theresa, Tina Storey, wife of Roy Alan; 14 grandchildren, Sean, Leanne, Nancy, Kyle, Jared, Brett, Matthew, Dana, Denille, Lenell, Samuel, Jacob, Luisa, and Patia Ann. She is also survived by her three sisters, Margaret Baca, Mary Carrejo and husband, Amby, and Rosalyn Gonzales; two brothers, Ernest Perea, and Manuel Perea and wife, Flora; sister-in-law, Logie Perea; and many nieces and nephews.
