CHAVEZ -- Charles Chavez, 40, beloved son and brother died peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2009. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oriol J. and Lou Ann Jaramillo Chavez. Charles is survived by his "mom" ReNee Lovato; sister, Debbie Trujillo and Mike Trujillo; brother, Gary Chavez, brother, Gilbert Chavez and wife, Connie, sister, Louise Archibeque and husband, Vincent, brother, Joseph Chavez, brother Johnny Chavez and sister, Magdalena Chavez and numerous, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Charles served in the United States Navy, worked for Qwest Communications, and was presently employed by Presbyterian Health Services. Charles will always be remembered for his perfect hair, his beautiful smile and his sense of humor. Everyone who knew or met Charles will have wonderful, fond memories of him, and he will be greatly missed. TEMPLET -- Elaine Melancon Templet 86, born August 13, 1923 in Thibodaux, LA, and passed away December 9, 2009 in Richardson, TX. She was preceded in death by husband, Philip J. Templet, Jr.; son, Michael D. Templet; and parents, Harris and Nettie Toups Melancon. She is survived by sons, Philip H. Templet, Brian S. Templet, and Darin M. Templet (Melanie); daughter-in-law, Marilyn Gesser; grandchildren, Melanie Yerger (John), Philip A. Templet (Julie), Kristen Clement (Cory), Marcel Templet (Jenny), and Alexander Templet; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Delmae M. Breerwood (Roy), and Mary Frances Bourgeois; and sister-in-law, Anita T. Gassen (Arthur). A Visitation will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., and will be followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, LA. SERRANO -- LUIS P. SERRANO, 89, The family will receive visitors at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Rosary Service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in Puerto de Luna, New Mexico. FUNERAL MASS will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in Puerto de Luna. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home. New Mexico arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home. Luis Serrano was born on April 27, 1920 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Simon and Petra Serrano. He proudly served in the US Army during Work War II and was honorably discharged in October, 1945 at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio. He married the love of his life, Dulce Mares on July 25, 1949 in Santa Rosa. Throughout most of his life he worked for Gulf Oil Company. He was also a successful commercial business owner. Luis was a charter member of the Knight of Columbus Council 5146 Gabriel Coury in Santa Rosa. He was the first Grand Knight and served in that position on three different occasions during his K of C career. As a member of the Santa Rosa volunteer fire department he also served as Fire Chief. A life-long supporter of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church & School, he served on the church parish council and was a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. Luis was a devoted and loving husband and father who cherished his family. He loved to tell stories of his days in the war and never met a stranger. Luis also enjoyed fishing, was an avid bird watcher and loved gardening. The family suggest memorials be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Santa Rosa, N.M. He was preceded in death by his son Dennis Serrano on January 23, 1993; two sisters; and a brother. Luis is survived by his wife Dulce of Borger; four daughters, Christina Lopez and husband Randy of Borger, Louise Montoya and husband Fred of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Janna Kiehl and husband John of Amarillo, and Bernadine Young and husband Martin currently of Bogata, Columbia; a sister Alice Romo of Coppell; six brothers, Adolph Serrano, Robert Serrano, and Charles Serrano all of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Simon Serrano Jr., and Zolio Serrano both of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Frank Serrano of The Woodlands; eight grandchildren, Martin Lopez, Carmela Gandy and her husband Toby, Erica Padilla, Janelle Navarro and her husband Rudy, Zak Weed and her husband Terry, Blane Young and his wife Hannah, Spencer Young, and Dennissa Young; three great-grandchildren, Cole Gandy, Asia Gandy, and Brody Gandy. WORKMAN -- H.L. "Workie" Workman, age 97, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Albuquerque. He was born in Edmunds, ND and moved to the Kansas City, MO area in 1930. Workie is survived by his sons, Ralph Workman and wife Maxine, Roger Workman and Larry Workman; daughter, Lou Ellen Staeden and husband Carry Charles; daughter - in - law, Gail Workman; ten grandchildren and 11 great - grandchildren. Workie was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Laura; and eldest son Jay. After a 37 year career with Phillips Petroleum he retired to take up his first love, Farming. Workie and Laura remained on the farm until Laura's health declined and relocation to Albuquerque was necessary for family assistance. They took up residence at Manzano Del Sol Good Samaritan Village in 1994. Workie enjoyed the Manzano lifestyle and his many friends he had there. Workie was a loving husband, a super dad and granddad. He was liked and admired by all who knew him. He was generous and giving and always with a amile. A man "for all seasons" who will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at Manzano Del Sol Good Samaritan Village Chapel 5201 Roma Ave NE, 87108 on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO. DELGADO -- Aurora M. Delgado, 67, passed away the morning of Friday, December 4, 2009. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Diego David Delgado; her mother, Julianna Guerra; and four of her siblings. Aurora is survived by her husband, J. Frank Delgado, Jr.; her children, Dora Delgado-Raby and husband, Ralph-David Raby, Frank Delgado, III and wife, Barbara Delgado, Patricio A. Delgado and Maribel A. Delgado; her grandchildren, Frankie Delgado and fiance Candice Lovato, Gabriella Delgado and Mirea Delgado; her great-grandchild, Maya Gianna Delgado; her siblings, Alicia, Ramon, Arturo, Ustolia, and Raquel; her cousin, Elvira Hernandez; as well as other family and friends who loved her and will miss her. Aurora and Frank were married 47 years. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish for 42 years. Aurora was a loving, strong, unbelievable woman. Whatever challenge came across her path, she handled with grace, dignity, and a smile. Services will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl SE. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. Entombment will follow immediately at Mt. AGUILAR -- Stella N. Aguilar, age 86, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 6, 2009. She was born on June 5, 1923 and was a life long resident of Bernalillo, NM. Stella was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. She enjoyed cooking, art, dancing, music and going to the casino. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luciano and Carolina Nieto; her husband, Ramon R. Aguilar; a son Martin R. Aguilar; a grandson, Christopher R. Aguilar; and several siblings. Stella is survived by her loving son Charles Aguilar and wife Barbara of Bernalillo; a daughter-in-law, Mannie Aguilar; four grandchildren, Lawrence and wife Wendy, Charles R. and wife Staci, Roberta Aguilar and Martin Aguilar; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Chris and Anthony. Also surviving are her sister, Anita Miera; three nephews whom she cared for, Jerry Nieto, Larry Navarro and Tony Navarro; and several other nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Stella will be greatly missed by all. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church.
