Baca -- Flora G. Baca, 89, a resident of Adelino, and recently living in Albuquerque, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2003 in the presence of her loving family at the home of her grandchildren, Mario and Laura Sanchez in Los Lunas. Mrs. Baca was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon C. Baca; her parents, Francisco and Emilia Baca and (Pedro and Petrita Gallegos); her two angels, Kate and Mabel Baca; and her beloved sister, Mary Baca. She is survived by her five daughters, Mary Lou and her husband, Wes Cavenee, Patsy and her husband, Frank Apodaca, Magdalen and her husband, Frank Neel, Erlinda Baca, and Theresa and her husband, Peter Cordova; her son, Joe R. Baca; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; her four brothers Alferes and Esmael Gallegos, Larry Jaramillo, and George Baca; one sister, Fela Lucero; and one sister-in-law, Lola Baca. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Private Cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Tome on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Monsignor Sipio Salas. Romero -- Joseph G. Romero, born February 28, 1949 in Albuquerque, to Joe S. Romero and Josephine S. Romero, passed away February 17, 2003. He was a beloved son, brother and uncle. He attended high school at Lourdes High School and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1967. He graduated from TVI in 1968 and received a degree in electronics. He began work at Eberline Electronic Instruments and Systems Corporation after his graduation. His expertise in electronics enabled him to acquire a position at Sandia National Laboratories in 1969. He retired after 30 years of service. He is survived by his parents; one brother, Ernest Romero; one sister, Ana Marie Gonzales and husband, Dennis; a very special nephew, Michael V. Gonzales; his special aunts, Amelia Sandoval, Angelina Cordova, Christine Perea and Emily Sandoval; and special uncle, Eloy Sandoval; and uncles, Frank Romero and wife, Fina, Alfonso Romero and wife, Elsie, Felix Romero and wife, Francis and many cousins and friends. Baca -- Flora G. Salas -- Ramon A. Salas, 72, went to his heavenly Father on Friday, February 14, 2003. He was born on July 4, 1930 in Datil, NM. Ramon graduated from Magdalena High School in 1949 and was honored to have attended New Mexico's first Boys State in El Rito, NM in 1948. He proudly served his country with the US Army in the Korean Conflict from November 1950 to October 1952. He graduated from Business College in 1955 and retired from the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School in 1990 where he held positions as Director of Personnel, Director of Administrative Services, and Fiscal Officer. Ramon loved his family, children, country and particularly enjoyed gardening. He was a beloved member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic parish family. Ramon's intelligence, wit, and love made a difference to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Nabora Salas; his brother, Jose Salas; and four sisters, Ignacia Carrillo; Maria Montoya; Lita Ortega; and Petra Cordova. Ramon is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Bertha; one son, Daniel P. Salas and children, Daniel and Lindsay; his four daughters, Patti Carrasco and husband, Greg and their children, Michael, Carl, Clare, Carmela, Maria, and Matthew; Louise Melfi and husband, James and their children, Joseph, Rachel, Anna, and James; Frances Salas and her son, Dominic; Ymelda Gallegos and husband, Chris and their children, Joaquin and Carmen; as well as five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his faithful brother, Joaquin Salas. All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM. A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2003 at 3:30pm with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 17, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Albert Gallegos officiating . Interment will follow in the Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Carrasco, Michael Carrasco, Dominic Salas, Daniel Salas, Jr., Joseph Melfi, Cristobal Montoya, Lorenzo Ortega, and James Luna. Polaco -- Elfigo Polaco, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at the age of 76. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, tio and godfather. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Philippines and Japan. He came back to his home in Los Brazos, NM and finished his education. There, he met and married his wife of 53 years, Adele Velasquez Polaco. They raised their family of three sons, Serafin Joe, Steve J., Vince W. and daughter, Yvonne A. in Albuquerque since 1959. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish since 1960. ¯Mr. Polaco¯ was devoted to his profession as a Master Barber at Polaco¯s Barber Shop since 1964 and practiced barbering since 1953. He loved his patrons and was always getting his ¯peanut-butter and jelly sandwich¯ from his children customers. He said he invented the flat-top.¯ His other love was his house on his ranch in Ensenada, NM, where he loved to work, fish, relax and visit with his family and friends. Mr. Polaco is survived by his wife, Adele V.; son, Steve J. and wife, Melissa and grandchildren, Marcos and Maria Tessa; son, Vince W.; daughter, Yvonne A. and husband, Dominic Baca and grandchildren, Christopher, Nichole and Daniel; grandson, Matthew Z. Polaco; grandson, Matt Elkin and wife, Tasha; and great-grandchildren, Bryanna and Mikayla. He is also survived by his aunt, Isabelle Valdez and family; in-laws, Francis Trujillo and family, Isaac Velasquez and family, Frutoso Velasquez and family and Benjamin Cordova and family; and many nephews, nieces; and God-children, whom he loved very much. Garcia -- Filomena Garcia, 97, went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2003. She was born on November 10, 1905 in Albuquerque, NM. Filomena is preceded in death by her husband, Cosme; daughter, Mable; and son, Gil. She is survived by her children, Jeronimo"Harry/Jerry" Garcia and wife, Molly, Odelia Lucero, Sylvia Sanchez, Nancy Garcia and Betty Jo Garcia; sister, Celia Cordova; 24 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; one great- great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Filomena will be deeply missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will recited on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Anne Catholic Church. Stamm -- Allen Stamm is survived by his loving wife, Marty Stamm; brother, William Stamm and wife, Ruth; brother, Robert Stamm and wife, Florie; Allen's children, Linda Strong, Jack Stamm, Craig Stamm, Becky Stamm and Jennifer Stamm; Marty's children, Nancy Lee, Lisa Ricker, Marcia Johnson and Leo Katz; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
