Schossow -- George Schossow, born December 31, 1914 died Friday, April 24, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen; son, Donald Schossow and wife, Laura of Albuquerque; two daughters, Rita and husband, Jack Slaughter of Santa Fe and Linda and husband, Steve Nelson of Ark City, KS; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr.Schossow barbered in Iowa, Chicago, IL, Beverly Hills, CA and opened the first barber shop at the Albuquerque Airport in 1952. He retired in 1986. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 1:30 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE, with Fr. Roger Bourgeois, S.S.S., Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Woodfill -- Jack Woodfill, 59, of Lindrith, passed away Monday, April 20, 1998 in rural Rio Arriba County. Jack was born July 23, 1938 to Warren S."Bud" and Bessie Woodfill in Albuquerque. In 1965, Jack married Kate Post. He was a cross country truck driver for many years, but for the last 20 years he enjoyed ranching, farming and working his heavy equipment in the oilfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, L.G. Woodfill. He is survived by his wife, Kate of the family home; one son, Bill and his wife, Lana of Aztec; four daughters, Terry Schmidt and husband, Clayton of Llaves, Barbara Nelson and husband, Garry of Aztec, Cathy Welch and husband, Randy of Las Vegas, NV, and Crystal Woodfill of Canyon, TX; and ten grandchildren. Also surviving Jack is his brother, Jimmy Woodfill; and his aunt, Bertha Johnson, both of Lindrith. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 1998, 2:00 p.m., at the Lindrith Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. Burial will be at the Community Cemetery in Lindrith with the pallbearers being David Gibson, Wayne Malcom, Clayton Schmidt Jr., Norman"Punch" Hall, Larry Keith, and Jim Page. Honorary pallbearers will be L.J. Ingram, Gene Tranbarger, Garry D. Nelson, Levi Casaus and Jackson Casaus. Arrangements are with Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 334-9332.

Shumway -- Phyllis Shumway, 70, born December 28, 1927 in Wantage, England, passed away at her home after a courageous battle with cancer on the 19th of April, 1998. Phyllis had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, where she was owner and operator of her own beauty shop. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Shumway in 1979; and son, Michael in 1980. She is survived by her companion of 18 years, Dan Wheeler; daughter, Susan Baca and husband, Phil of Albuquerque; one sister, Doris Martin of Albuquerque; two brothers, Jack Kearvell of Wantage, England, Bert Kearvell and wife, Chris of Australia; one step-brother, James Horne and wife, Linda of Albuquerque; two grandsons, Greg and Bryan Perez of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Leandra Baca of Albuquerque; step-granddaughter, Sonya Chavarria and husband, Rudy; and three step-great-grandchildren of California. She also had several special nieces and nephews with one very special niece, Pat Statkus and husband, Jim and their daughters, Wendy and Jamie of Albuquerque, Dan Wheeler's daughters, Nancy Nelson and husband, Rick of California, Sharon Apodaca and husband, Antonio of Santa Fe, NM, son, Jeffery Wheeler of Santa Fe; granddaughters, Anna and Maya of Santa Fe, and Phillip Nelson of California. Phyllis also had many special friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, 1998, 10:00 a.m., at University Church of Christ, 1707 Gold Ave SE (Central & University). James Statkus, Jason Buckner, Phil Perez, Bob Keene, Ross Tayfoya, and Mark Wilson will serve as pallbearers. Rick Nelson, Antonio Apodaca, Rudy Chavarria and James Horne are honorary pallbearers. Palmer -- Jossie Montoya Palmer, 63, (1934) a resident of Belen, passed away on Friday, April 10, 1998. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Jossie was an avid gardener, who enjoyed spending time working in her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Palmer on March 17, 1998. Jossie is survived by her children, Linda Potts and husband, Tony of Arizona; and Bernice Garcia and husband, Manuel Hernandez; Billy Palmer and wife, Julie, of El Paso, TX; Freeman Palmer and wife, Kristina, of Los Lunas, NM; Tommy Palmer of Albuquerque, NM; Anna Francis Palmer of Belen, NM; and Bobby Palmer of Los Lunas, NM. She is also survived by her sister, Jennie Rodriguez and husband, Conrad, of Belen; brothers, Tony Montoya and wife, Connie; Orlando Montoya and wife, Angie; Archie Montoya and wife, Roseanne; Larry Montoya and wife, Vera; Leroy Montoya and wife, Theresa; Andy Garcia and wife, Nila; and Johnny Montoya and wife, Wanda. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. --2:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Additional viewing will begin at 6:30 p.m. and rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Bynum -- R. Angie Bynum, 39, of Albuquerque, formerly of Moriarty, passed away Monday, April 6, 1998 at her residence. She was born February 3, 1959 in Albuquerque to John and Rita Davis of whom survives her in Moriarty. Angie was a member of the Catholic Church. Angie spent most of her career working for Bellamah Community Development as an accounting manager. She also worked for Ryals Engineering, Make a Wish Foundation, and other Development companies. She was also a volunteer for Mark Twain Elem. School activities. She was a 1977 graduate of the Moriarty High School. She had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1977. Besides her parents she is survived by one son, Jeromy Bynum of Albuquerque, Ol' Man Ray Parr of Albuquerque; two brothers, John Wayne Davis of Roswell, and Joe Davis of Liberal, KS; one sister, Monica Astorga and husband, Opie Astorga and their two daughters, Brianna and Stefani Astorga, all of Dodge City, KS. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 1998 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty with Mass being celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 13, 1998 at the Church with burial following at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery with Calvin Davis, Bob Ryals, Charlie Uitts, Louie Nuanez, George Davis, Jesse Wicketts, Steve Anaya and Tom Clements serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Jojola, Roy Dog, George Fogleman, Phil Anaya, Al Olson and Randy Nelson. Gallegos -- Mrs. Mary Patricia Gallegos, 46, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 13, 1998 in Kansas City, Missouri. She is survived by her mother, Alfreda of Santa Fe; her husband, Nelson F. Gallegos of Albuquerque; three children, James Gallegos, Nelson Gallegos Jr. and Michelle Gallegos, all of Albuquerque; one grandson, Brett Safford of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Diana Blandford and husband, Neil of Corrales; sister-in-law, Charlene Otero of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Margie Gurule and husband, Dino of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Tina Ortega and husband, Orlando of Hernandez, NM; brother-in-law, Richard Gallegos and wife, Dolores of Seattle, WA; and brother-in-law, Robert Gallegos; and numerous friends and other relatives. The funeral was held at Christ the King Church in Kansas City, MO at 10:00 a.m. on March 16, 1998. Mary's friends and relatives in New Mexico would like to say goodbye and express their deepest sadness for the loss of one always so giving and loving toward us all. We miss you Mary.
