ROSTRO -- David Estrada Rostro, 75, was called to Heaven by our Lord, on August 28, 2004. He was born in Roswell, NM, on November 13, 1928 to Jesus and Antonia Rostro. David is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy M. Rostro; and his loving children, Dave and Christine Rostro, Patsy and Robert Garcia, Paul Rostro, James Rostro, Sabrina and Efren Garcia, Cynthia and Gary Saiz. David was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His presence will be missed but his strength will live on, in all of us. Rosary will be recited on Monday, August 30, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Bernalillo, NM. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church with Father Virgil Furfaro, Celebrant. CAUGHRAN -- James Virgil Caughran, aged, 84, passed away August 17, 2004. He was born October 25, 1919 to Harry Lonzo and Wannie Belle Caughran in Grady, NM. He married his first grade sweetheart, Elsie Faith Bliss, June 29, 1941. They moved to Dove Creek, CO in the mid 1940s where he farmed and ran an LP Gas business. He and his family moved to Albuquerque in the mid 1950s and lived here for over 45 years. He was a successful real estate businessman and was the prime developer of Elephant Butte Estates. He loved to spend time with his family at his home on Mount Taylor. Virgil was an avid nature lover, conservationist and enjoyed raising livestock. Virgil was preceded in death by his wife; his son; his parents; his brother; and his sister. He is survived by his niece, Barbara Woodward and her husband, Bob of Albuquerque; and his nephew, Dr. Leroy Coffman and his wife, Carol of Winter Haven, FL; and many, many close friends. Virgil was a loving, caring, husband, father, and mentor to many in his family and in the community and will be missed by everyone he touched. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123, 505 255-5523. FRANCIS -- James. The family of James Crawford Francis is overwhelmed with the outpouring of concern, sorrow, and support from family, friends, and so many thoughtful members of our community. We are very thankful to the investigators, police, emergency services, witnesses, chaplains, and many others who assisted on that tragic night. GONZALEZ -- Jean Carlo Gonzalez, age 9, of Albuquerque, passed away August 27, 2004. HOGAN -- Captain Select James R. Hogan, US Navy Reserve, 57, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carole B. Hogan of Albuquerque; parents, Ben and Lucille Hogan; sisters, Roberta Ormsby and Valerie Hammon-Hogan and husband, Robert, all of California; and many other family and friends. Captain Hogan retired from Sandia National Labs after over 25 years. He proudly served in the US Navy Reserve for over 20 years and rose to the rank of Captain Select. He was commanding officer of several different reserve units including Albuquerque, NM and, currently, Portland, OR. Services will be held Monday, August 30, 2004, 11:00 am, French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Private Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. LOPEZ -- Angela Y. Lopez, born July 12, 1956, a very giving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, August 25, 2004. She was preceded in death by her father, Aladino Lopez, and two brothers, Sammy and Dino Lopez. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Gilbert Lopez of Albuquerque; mother, Frieda Rael; two sons, Gilbert "James" Lopez Jr. and wife, Kelly of Boulder, CO, Paul Lopez and wife, Monica of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Diego, Dominic, and Sammy P.; brother, Donald Lopez of Vacaville, CA; brother-in-law, Ernie Lopez of Albuquerque; great-aunt, "Tuttie" of Las Vegas, NM; uncle, Donald Vasquez of Las Vegas, NM; cousin and friend, Patsy Vasquez of Pueblo, CO; as well as many other family members and friends. This came as a great shock to everyone and she was truly loved and will be missed by all. With a smile and laugh that would brighten any room, she was the backbone of our family. PAPAS -- Marina Papas, 67, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2004 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. She is survived by her daughter, Anastasia Papas and husband, Bill Archer of Sandia Park, NM; son, Tom Papas and wife, Shannon Peterson of Albuquerque; daughter, Matina Schell and husband, Roy of Moriarty; grandchildren, Peter and Brian Dennedy, Anthony and Nikolas Coronado, Louis James Papas and Savannah Schell; brothers, Gus Foukas and wife, Linda of Tijeras, John Foukas and wife, Helen of Clifton, NJ, and Tom Foukas and wife, Christine of Clifton, NJ; sisters, Olympia Anagnos and husband, Angelo of Lodi, CA, Angie Zinkow of Wanaque, NJ, and Panagiota, Maria, and Nikki, all of whom reside in Greece. Mrs. Papas emigrated from Greece in 1956 to Patterson, NJ. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, dancing and visiting with her friends. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Mrs. Papas was a devoted, loving mom and grandmother who will be missed deeply.
