Marina Papas, 67, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2004 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. She is survived by her daughter, Anastasia Papas and husband, Bill Archer of Sandia Park, NM; son, Tom Papas and wife, Shannon Peterson of Albuquerque; daughter, Matina Schell and husband, Roy of Moriarty; grandchildren, Peter and Brian Dennedy, Anthony and Nikolas Coronado, Louis James Papas and Savannah Schell; brothers, Gus Foukas and wife, Linda of Tijeras, John Foukas and wife, Helen of Clifton, NJ, and Tom Foukas and wife, Christine of Clifton, NJ; sisters, Olympia Anagnos and husband, Angelo of Lodi, CA, Angie Zinkow of Wanaque, NJ, and Panagiota, Maria, and Nikki, all of whom reside in Greece. Mrs. Papas emigrated from Greece in 1956 to Patterson, NJ. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, dancing and visiting with her friends. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Mrs. Papas was a devoted, loving mom and grandmother who will be missed deeply. A Trisagion will be held Sunday, August 29, 2004, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High St. SE, with Father Mario Giannopoulos, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
