Saavedra -- Mrs. Theresa Saavedra died Saturday in Albuquerque at the age of 64. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother and she will be remembered for her love of playing bingo. Mrs. Saavedra is survived by her husband, Gilbert Saavedra; sons, Chris Saavedra, Gilbert Saavedra, Bernie Loranca, and Raymond Saavedra; daughters, Frances Sanchez and Theresa Becerra; brother, Bobby Narvaiz; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Saavedra will be held on Wednesday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Sanchez, Bobby Narvaiz, Luciano Saavedra, Felix Sanchez, Steve Garcia and Johnny Ray Saavedra. Shoemaker -- Cpt. Ronald Z. Shoemaker US Army, Ret., 66, a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, died Thursday, December 24, 1998. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Shoemaker and grandson, Shea Vick of Albuquerque; his son, Ronald Z. Shoemaker, Jr., wife, Jenny and granddaughter, Vicki Romero of Albuquerque; his mother, Pauline Shoemaker of Albuquerque; his sister, Charlene Raicevich and husband, Bob of St. Louis, MO; his brother, Ray Shoemaker of Albuquerque; his mother-in-law, Eleanore Carson of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Shoemaker was a member of the Retired Officers Association (National and Albuquerque Chapters), the New Mexico Association of Educational Retirees, and the American Legion. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NE, with Pastor Larry A. Wright officiating. Steen -- Antoinette"Tonie" L. Steen of Conroe, TX, formally of Albuquerque, died at 2:48 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 1998 at Conroe Regional Hospital, Conroe, TX after a short illness. Wildenstein -- Ernest E. Wildenstein, Jr., age 64, a resident of Las Vegas, NM and former resident of California and Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 1998 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Las Vegas, NM on July 23, 1934 to the late Ernest E. Wildenstein, Sr. and Frances Quintana Wildenstein who survives him. He was a self-employed carpenter. He served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, E. Wildenstein, Sr.; brothers, Eugene Wildenstein, Lester Wildenstein and Wilfred Wildenstein; grandson, Gavin Randolph Wildenstein Kerr. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Felix and husband, Mark and Valerie Kerr and husband, James, all of Albuquerque, Janet Maldonado and husband, Joey of Rio Rancho, and Gail Chavez and husband, Jay of Albuquerque; sons, Randy Wildenstein and wife, Barbara of Las Vegas, NM and Eric Wildenstein and wife, Estella of Ft. Carson, CO; grandchildren, Justin, Nicole and Jillian Felix, Miles and Mackenzie Kerr, all of Albuquerque, Joseph and Brittany Maldonado of Rio Rancho, Shealin and Skyler Wildenstein of Las Vegas, NM, Genevieve and Alexandria Chavez of Albuquerque, Dominique and Brooke Wildenstein of Ft. Carson, CO; one great-grandchild, Desiree Felix; mother, Frances Wildenstein of Las Vegas, NM; nephew, Warren Wildenstein and wife, Veronica of Edgewood, NM. Rosary devotional services will be conducted on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Wilkens -- Marie Louise Wilkens, 88, known as"Willie" by her friends, was born into Eternal Life on December 26, 1998. She passed away at UNM Hospital. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 18, 1910. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Wilkens and was their only child. As a young woman, Willie was employed as a Nursing Aide for a number of years and worked as a nurse helping the Navajos in Gallup, NM until approximately 1958. In later years she also attended Business College and worked as a Secretary and Bookkeeper until her retirement in 1972. Although she had a modest income, she was a very giving person, contributing generously to charities, needy persons, and to her Parish. She will be sadly missed by neighbors and friends, especially by her faithful caregiver and dear friend, Ethel Corbin. Willie was a member of St. Therese Parish and will be affectionately remembered by many parishioners who were inspired by her devout faith and daily attendance at Mass. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 31, 1998 at St. Therese Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fitzgerald & Son, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Burial will take place in Mankato, Minnesota at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, in accordance with her personal request. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Willie's lifelong concern for the poor, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Therese Parish, 300 Mildred Ave. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Williams -- Mrs. Bonnie B. Williams died December 25, 1998 following a brief illness. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Grossetete and husband, Alec; granddaughters, Gay Blech and husband, Dusty, Teri Zeni and Brian Maclennan; nieces, Jo Anne Mitchell and husband, Fred, Wynn Clevenger and husband, Pat; nephew, Gene Wheeler and wife, Sylvia; great-grandchildren, Briana and Kessick Blech, Joseph and Elizabeth Zeni. Bonnie is also survived by many near and dear friends. Her family and church were a big part of her life. Bonnie was born in Hagerman, NM August 19, 1914, the youngest of five children born to Joseph V. Wheeler and Ethel Newburn Wheeler. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Roy Wheeler; sisters, Mazie Wheeler, Reba Gay"Skippie" Johnson, Ann Hutton; and step-son, Lavell Jones. At various times she lived in Albuquerque and in California. Bonnie and daughter, Ginger moved back to Albuquerque in 1950 to stay. She worked in retail sales for many years and retired from Sears Roebuck. She married Roy Williams in 1963. Bonnie and Roy worked together in Roy's company, Albuquerque Dry-Wall. Roy died June 10, 1984. Visitation: 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Tuesday, December 29, 1998, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at First Christian Church, 10,101 Montgomery Blvd. NE, at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 1998. Services will be conducted by Reverend James Ward. Pallbearers are Dusty Blech, Julian Hippell, Brian Maclennan, Fred Mitchell, Jack Mulcahy, and Hank Mullin. Anderson -- Clare (Andy) Anderson, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away December 20, 1998. He was born May 7, 1927 to Harry and Calmie Anderson in New Richland, Minnesota. He graduated from New Richland High School and served in the Army in Sasebo, Japan with the U.S. Armed Forces 1946/ 47. He was married to Margaret Doyle in 1950, moved to Albuquerque for her health, and daughter, Mary Clare was born in 1954. He remarried Florence Bentley Griego in 1979. Andy had a successful career for 39 years at Creamland Dairies, rising from home deliveryman to Operations Manager, retired in 1993, but continued as consultant until mid 1998. He often spoke of his work as"going home, rather than to work as Creamland is like family to me." Andy is survived by his wife, Florence; daughter, Mary Clare Rowlands and husband, Glyn of Australia; step-children, Stephen F. Griego, Barbara Regan and husband, Mark, Nick Griego and Mary Jane Bates; step-grandchildren, Tracie Griego, Laura Lei Gosa, and Kaitlyn M. Bates, a special person in his life; brothers, Glen and wife, Luella, Lester and wife, Lucille; sisters, Jeanette Schatzke, Velma Fisher, Harriet Biling; sister-in-law, Loretta Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Andy was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; his mother, father and brother, Milan. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 1998, 1:00 p.m., at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano NW. Chavez -- Paul H. Chavez, 68, a lifelong resident of New Mexico was called home to be with the Lord Friday, December 25, 1998. He was a member of the Holy Child Church in Carnuel, New Mexico and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his loving wife, Merci Chavez of Albuquerque; daughters, Bernadette Montoya, Darlene Weber and husband, Mark, Pauline Chavez, Maria Lucero and husband, Pat, Monica Chavez all of Santa Fe, NM; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Mae Luna of El Paso, TX, Mary Olguin and husband, Ernest of Burbank, CA, O.J. Gonzales of Santa Fe, NM, Vestina Gambardella and husband, pat of West Haven, CT and a nephew, Dennis Gonzales and wife, Joyce also of Santa Fe, NM. Visitations will be Monday, December 28, 1998 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Holy Child Church in Carnuel, NM where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday December 29, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Child Church in Carnuel, NM. Clayton -- Noveline Williams Clayton, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died December 24, 1998. She was born December 8, 1919 in Purvis, TX to Charles Bishop and Emma Landes Williams, the third of four children. Her sister Ethel Robinson, has preceded her in death. She married Hensley Doyle Clayton on December 20, 1942, and together they had six children. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Jana Doyle, Christy Lynn and Pamella Lou and her parents, all of whom died in a tragic accident on December 26, 1952. Her husband of 52 years, Doyle passed away on August 12, 1994. Noveline is survived by her sons, Michael Hensley Clayton and wife, Christine of Albuquerque, and Philip Williams Clayton and wife, Davra of Albuquerque; daughter, Jalynn Mella Clayton and husband, Todd Heisey of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Anna Nicole Clayton, Nicholas Doyle Clayton, Thane Clayton Heisey, Trevin Boone Clayton Heisey, and Allison Esther Clayton all of Albuquerque; brother, C.B. Williams of Arkansas; sister, Emma Tucker of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Clayton, was a third grade teacher for over 21 years at Sombre del Monte Elementary School in Albuquerque. Her many talents included sewing, quilting, crafts, cooking, and teaching. Noveline was a great advocate of education and the pursuit of excellence in all endeavoors. She was a strong woman of faith and wonderful mother; generous, kind-hearted, and devoted...a blessing to all who knew her. Services will be held, Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution NE with Rev. Gerald White officiating. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Cooley -- Mary Stella Cooley, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Friday, December 25, 1998. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Jean Quint and husband, Bill of Edgewood, NM, Mary Louise Mahood of Coldwater, MI, and Barbara A. Williams and husband, Dennis of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Edward Holland of Caldwell, ID. Mrs. Cooley was preceded in death by her husband P.L. Cooley in 1995. Cremation has taken place. Mrs. Cooley's cremains will be interred in Bisbee, AZ. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
