DURAN, KEVIN V. Age 26, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013. He is survived by parents, Victor and Debbie Duran; his brother, Aaron Duran and Veronica Ortega; his grandmothers, Helen Duran and Mable Bustos; god-daughter, Vanessa Garcia; aunts and uncles, Robert Duran, Cecilia and Bill Romero, Ron Bustos and Christine Jacques, and Robert and Sandy Bustos; cousins, Jason Duran, Eric and Kasi Garcia, Brittany and Juan Lopez, Gage Bustos, Edward, Daniel, and Robert Bustos, Teddee Saavedra, Ezabella Garcia, and Audrina Lopez; and godparents, Perry and Eva Moran. Kevin was employed at Desert Hills, where he was an assistant to counselors and helped with monitoring youth developmental activities. Kevin can always be remembered for his love of all sports, and was known for his speed and agility on the court and field, and his highly competitive nature. His joys included traveling and amongst his favorite memories were those of his family's annual trips to Red River, their fishing expeditions while camping, and his love of the outdoors! Kevin was spiritual in nature and well known for his compassion and kind heart. He loved his parents and was a role model to his little brother Aaron. He had no problem showing his affection to family and friends, he will always be remembered saying to Mom "How's it going MaMa-sita?" Kevin will be held in our hearts always and we will never forget his kind and loving nature. His love was amazingly genuine, inspirational and infinite. Rosary will be recited Saturday, March 9, 2013, 8:30 a.m., at Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. S.W., with the Mass following at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. IMBODEN, BILLY Age 96, born August 27, 1916 in Mountainair NM. He passed away March 4, 2013 in an adobe home he had built. He was the first of six children born to Allie and Bill Imboden. Billy was a veteran of WWII having served in the 442nd Troup Carrier Group as a C-47 pilot. He spent many years as a farmer. He was an avid motorcyclist. He loved the outdoors and his little Schnauzer Casie. Billy is survived by his sister May Imboden Stephens of Graham, TX.

FREEMAN, WILLIAM JOSEPH "BILL" painter, potter, collector, cowboy, naturalist, mentor and more passed peacefully on February 14 at 9:30 PM MST. He was 85., Born in North Carolina in 1927, Bill Freeman was raised in west Texas on a cotton and flower farm outside of El Paso. During his storied life he was a horse wrangler and worked for the US Forest Service. At age 30 he decided to pursue his love of painting and became a full time artist, specializing in Western landscapes. Within two years, his work was being shown in important art galleries throughout the west and across the country. In the late seventies, he discovered ancient pottery and left behind painting to become one of the foremost makers of ancient pottery and antiquity replicas as well as a leading restorer, authority and collector of ancient Native American and pre-Columbian art. Bill Freeman also believed life and talent was something to share. As a result he mentored many young artists on not only the craft of painting and pottery making, but also about the hows, whys and realities of being professional artists. Bill was surrounded by dear friends and family (blood and adopted) in the weeks leading up to his passing. Bill is survived by his nephew John Antweiler and wife Judy of Pompano Beach, FL and their children Jenny of Pompano Beach and son Andrew of Atlanta, GA, nephew Dennis Antweiler and his children Christopher, Brandon and Jamie of Fort Meyers, CA, nephew Ray Antweiler and his children Melanie and Cory of Aptos, CA, and his dear adopted family: Jade Leyva of Placitas, NM, Diane Witcher and Sarah Webber of Jackson Hole, WY, Lee Brotherton of Cave Creek, AZ, Carol Swinney of Caspar, WY and Vern Crites of Cortez, CO. HAWTHORNE, GEORGE R. passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at age 95. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on February 1, 1918 to Carl Henderson Hawthorne II and Gladys (Boetcher) Hawthorne. He had a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University. George retired from the United States Army Corp of Engineers. He worked for Sandia Base after World War II where he met his wife, Donelle Carson. George was assigned to the Manhattan Project to build Los Alamos for the Los Alamos National Laboratories. George also worked at the National Guard Training Center teaching Army officers. He worked in Civil Engineering for the Zia Company in Los Alamos, for Bill Turney & Associates Engineering Firm in Santa Fe, and the New Mexico Highway Department. Once he retired from the military, he operated the Kings Rest Court motel in Santa Fe for 15 years. George is best known by his nickname "The Colonel". He was preceded in death by his wife Donelle, their daughter Janet, granddaughter Sage and grandson Stuart. George is survived by his children Joyce Ziesenis and husband Greg, Judith Hawthorne, Robert Hawthorne and wife Angela and David Hawthorne; grandchildren Samantha, Laurinda, Adam, Kelley, Candace and Kristina and six great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by numerous friends, relatives and all that knew and loved him. FARRAN, WILLIAM WALTER died of leukemia on Feb. 14, on his 75th birthday. Born in San Antonio, Walt grew up on a ranch in Atascosa County, Texas. He came to the University of New Mexico, where he majored in science and met his first wife, Rosalynde McAnelley. He taught science in Albuquerque for 33 years, 32 of them at Taft Middle School. He retired from teaching to care for Rosalynde, who died of cancer in 1995. He married Jean Stapleton in 1996 and moved to Los Angeles, where he lived for the rest of his life. Walt was a published poet, known for his baking and cooking skills. He was a world traveler who visited the seven continents and all U.S. states. He is survived by his wife; his daughters Carolyn Farran of Portland, OR and Pamela Brame of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren Bill, Gillian and Luke Brame; son-in-law Chris Brame; sister Virginia Mitchell of Dallas; nephew Scott Mitchell and niece Kathy Mitchell. A service will be at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Blvd. NE at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

FULLER, LUE ELLA Age 79, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013. She is survived by her son, Glen Richardson of Albuquerque, NM; son, Bill Richardson and wife Debra of Flower Mound, TX; daughter, Kathleen Goins of Van Wert, OH; son, Kevin Fuller and wife Cara of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Verna Lee Martin and Lorene Murphy. Mrs. Fuller was preceded in death by her husband, J. Robert "Bob" Fuller; son, Keith Richardson; daughter, Beverly Kay Richardson; mother, Lydia Estel Parrish; and father, Johnson Arby Parrish. EMMEL, PAULINE Pauline was born in Cortez, Colorado, on March 10, 1933 and passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard Emmel, and father Charles Koehler. Pauline is survived by her mother, Dorothy Koehler; sister, Leone Peters and husband, Bill of Albuquerque; two daughters, Phyllis (Modesto) Sanchez and Debbie (Rick) Morris both of Edgewood; grandchildren, Jeremy, Nathan, Lloyd of Flint, Michigan and DeVel Madrid of Albuquerque; nieces, Lynn (Paddy) Downey of Hobbs, Carolyn (Talal) Mourad of Las Lunas and Jeanette (Bill) Slichenmyer of Sherborn, Mass; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Among her favorite activities were oil painting, working in the yard and traveling with family. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Daniels Carlisle Chapel 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE at 2:00pm, with a gathering following in her honor in the Celebration of Life Reception Room. BROWN, BILL passed away peacefully on February 18, 2013. He is survived by his wife and best friend Kitty Brown, his children, Mark, K.C. and spouse Melanie, Kerrina and spouse Juan and Brian. His six grandcildren, Gabriel, Zoe, Alejandro, Jackson, Peyton and Sophia and his two sisters, Shannon and spouse Dale, Leslie and spouse Carl Eric.
