ARTIAGA, JUANITA O. Juanita O. Artiaga, 84, of Albuquerque, NM died peacefully on December 20, 2014. Born on June 12, 1930 in Anton Chico, NM and she was raised in Pintada, NM. Juanita was a single mother who lovingly raised her eight children and helped raise four grandchildren: Henry Buckner Jr., Racheal Bucker, Jonathan Buckner and Albert Buckner. She was devoted to the Catholic Church and our blessed Santo Nino de Atoche. She left an amazing example of how to live life with strength, love and faith. Her laugh attached warmth to anyone in her presence. Juanita was preceded in death by her father Juan Cirillo Ortega, mother Francisca Ortega de Sisneros, twin sister Magdalena Ortega, her brother Eliverto M. Ortega, sister Ernestina Sena, children Victoria Artiaga, Ralph Artiaga Jr., Edward Artiaga and grandson Joseph Tafoya. Juanita is survived by her sister Trancita Chavez; children: Gloria Buckner, Gilbert and Nellie Artiaga, Carmen and Raymond McGuinness, Frances Artiaga, Alice and Carl (Charlie) Mora, Rick and Nancy Artiaga, David and Sarah Artiaga, George and Madelene Artiaga; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Henry Buckner Jr., Jonathan Buckner, Albert Buckner, Gilbert Artiaga Jr., Rick Artiaga Jr., and Joshua Artiaga. Honorary Pallbearers will be her beloved grandchildren. Viewing will be held at Daniels Family - Garcia's Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW in Albuquerque, NM on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. A Rosary will then be recited in her honor at 7PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Santuario de San Martin, 8321 Camino San Martin SW in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, December 27, 2014 10:30 AM followed by interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice as well as all those who prayed for her during her suffering.

LOVATO, NICKOLAS Nickolas Lovato, 58, of Albuquerque, went to be with his Savior on December 6, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Epifanio and Mary Luz Lovato; his brother, Jose Louis Lovato; grandparents; and two sisters-in-law, Silvia Marquez and Carol Ortega. He is survived by six brothers, Ben Lovato, Epifanio Lovato Jr., David John Lovato, Victor Lovato, Albino Lovato, Martin Lovato; one sister, Vicky Baca (Richard); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His hobbies include bowling, model-building and football, where he cheered for the Oklahoma Sooners. Nick also loved racing and made a trip to Arizona twice a year for the NASCAR races. He also loved going to Oklahoma to visit family. A prayer service will be held for Nick on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Friends may visit the family at 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the FRENCH - University. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. SANDOVAL, ALEXANDER Alexander Sandoval, 30, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Lucero and grandfather Frank Lucero. He is survived by his daughter Serenity Sandoval; his mother Venus Sandoval and Rick Ortega; father Alex Sandoval Sr.; his brother Chris Sandoval and wife Valerie; sisters Amanda Sandoval and Martin Avila, Nicole Sandoval, Donielle and Erma Apodaca; and grandparents Bernadine Lucero, Loyola and Toby Lucero.
