CHAVEZ, MARIA DELORES "LOLA" Age 84, joined the Lord and her beloved husband Adolfo P. Chavez in heaven, Friday, August 15, 2014 on the Feast Day of our Lady of Assumption. Born in Socorro, NM on May 18, 1930, the month of Mary, to Candelario and Maria Lopez, she began her faithful journey as the youngest of her 24 siblings. Lola was the matriarch of her immediate family and the last living member of the Candelario Lopez family. Lola attended St. Joseph's College in Albuquerque and then taught grade school in Santa Rita, NM before marrying Adolfo Chavez of Polvadera, NM on December 22nd,1951 in San Miguel Church. As a lifelong member of San Miguel Parish, Lola's love and trust in the Lord and her devotion to Mary were profound. Friends and family alike called on Lola in times of need for her prayers and devotions, and her loved one's were comforted by her faith. Lola's greatest joy was being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lola had a love for music and is remembered as knowing all the words to her favorite songs, also for her green thumb and love of flowers. Her life was filled with an abundance of love and her joyful smile, contagious laugh and loving nature will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her. Lola was truly beautiful inside and out. Lola's life will be remembered like a ray of sunshine, spreading happiness and love into the hearts of those she loved. She will be our sunshine forever. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, and her beloved husband, Adolfo P. Chavez. Lola is survived by her devoted children, Geraldine Esquivel and husband, Tony; Rick Chavez and wife, Lucille; and Theresa Lucero and husband, Pat; her loving grandchildren, Maria, Milinda, Micaela, Marisa, Gabriel, Ricardo, Santiago, Nicolas, and Miranda; her great-grandchildren, Zion and Laela; her nieces, nephews and many other family members. A Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 7:00 pm at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 9:00 am also at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Andrew Pavlak as celebrant. GAUNA, LOUELLA LUCILLE Louella Lucille Gauna, age 61, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2014 at the home of her sister in Albuquerque with her family at her bedside. Louella was born on October 18, 2014 in Mountainair, NM to the home of Agapito and Antonia (Otero) Garcia. She was reared in Mountainair and attended schools in Willard. Louella lived in Vaughn for several years where she worked as a cook in various restaurants; she also worked construction and was the Activities Director for the Vaughn Senior Citizens. She made her home is Santa Rosa in 2007. She loved music, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren. Louella was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ray Garcia, Lincoln Garcia her sisters Louisa Luna, Esquipula Garcia, Survivors include her sons, Joseph "Ike" Gauna and wife Tricia, Michael Gauna and wife Yolanda, Cedric Gauna and wife Tessa, her grandchildren Brittany Gauna, Kayla Gauna, Kameron Gauna, Konnor Gauna, Austin Higgins, Cassidy Gauna and Damien Gauna. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Sidro Garcia and wife Susan of Las Vegas,NV, Jane Ortiz of Albuquerque, Pauline Gurule of Willard, Berlinda Garcia of Albuquerque, Lucy Bibiano and husband Leroy of Albuquerque who were also her caregiver, Sal Garcia and wife Vera of Albuquerque, Lila Gonzales and husband John of Willard, Christine Storey and husband Frank of Albuquerque, Rita Chavez of Estancia and Bea Brooks of Westminister, CA along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be recited on Thursday, August 21 at 10:00 AM from Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Memorial Mass to follow with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. GONZALES, MARY M. Age 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956. She died Thursday, August 14, 2014. She is survived by seven children, son, Bobby Gonzales, and wife, Debra Gonzales; daughters, Dee Dee Sanchez, Theresa Sandoval, and husband, Michael Sandoval, Veronica Lesperance, and husband, Albino, Chrissy Sandoval, and husband Albert, Carmen Soto, and husband, Martin, and Sarah Gonzales; sisters Gloria Palomino, and husband, Joe of Las Animas, CO, Linda Trujillo, and husband, Manuel of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law, Josie Medina of Las Animas, Co; and brother-in-law, John Ortega of Tucson, AZ. Mary has 23 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gonzales; daughter, Celia Gonzales; parents, Annie and Paul Medina; brothers, Richard Medina, and Delfino Medina; sisters, Louise Ortega, and Martha Medina. She was a member of Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Church. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 7 o'clock pm, at Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Church, 5414 Fortuna Rd. GUEVARA, JOHNNY " ROTTEN" Passed away on August 1, 2014 at the age of 51. Johnny is survived by his children Madison and Tyler Guevara; his parents Joe and Alice Guevara; and many brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces and his granddaughter. Johnny will always be remembered for his love of playing and coaching soccer, the game of golf and music. Johnny will be especially missed for his big smile. We love you and miss you dad, and will never forget you.

HUNTER, JOANN Age 82, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Weldon Hunter. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Mike) Berg; son, Mike Hunter; daughter, Susan Hunter-Miller; grandchildren, Jennifer (Curtis) Edenfield, Justin (Kate) and Jessica Berg, Mitch and Matson Hunter, Kaitlyn Hunter, and Gavin Miller; sister, Donna Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. JoAnn moved to Albuquerque to attend UNM where she graduated in 1953, and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She still had lunch with her sorority sisters once a month. JoAnn and her husband founded Hunter Lumber in 1959. The family would like to thank Home Instead, The Woodmark at Uptown, and Presbyterian Hospice for the wonderful care in the last few years. Visitation will be Thursday, August 21, 2014, at FRENCH - University, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. LERMA, LYDIA (LILY) M. Age 68, passed away peacefully at home following a long illness. She went to Our Lord on Friday, August 15, 2014, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Born in El Rito, NM, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Oniel and Helen Trujillo; her husband, Abel Lerma and brothers, Paul and Timothy Trujillo. Lily is survived by daughters Kelly and husband Masa Sano, Valerie and husband Kelton McPherson; granddaughter, Darian and husband Seth Hartley and great-grandson Kyle; grandsons , Patrick and Quinn McPherson; siblings Jose O. and wife Irma of El Paso, TX, sister-in-law Irma Trujillo of Rio Rancho, Arturo and wife Rosa of Las Cruces, Margaret of Santa Fe, Juanita Torrez and husband Robert of Albuquerque, Andres and wife Susan of Albuquerque, Eudoro and wife Eppie of Albuquerque, Wilfred and wife Gracie of Las Cruces, Rudy and wife Marta of Las Cruces , Gilbert of Albuquerque, and Yvonne of Albuquerque; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, god-children, and dear friends. She also expressed a special thanks to the staff at Westwind House and Alliance Hospice. SANCHEZ, CARMEN 1927-2014 Carmen Sanchez, age 86, a resident of Jarales, NM peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Manuel and Fedelina Trujillo on October 15, 1927. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and St. Vincent de Paul. She also donated her time and money to the orphanages of Mexico and abroad. She enjoyed cooking and serving those in need on Good Friday. Carmen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was very well liked and respected by everyone who knew her and will be very greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Elfego G. Sanchez; her sisters, Lola Trujillo, Bessie Baca, Eutimia Montoya and Josie Molina; her brothers, Eulario and Erlindo Trujillo. Carmen is survived by her children, Angie Lopez and husband, Fermine, Alfred Sanchez and wife, Linda, Henry Sanchez and wife, Jenny, Donna Avila and husband, Alfred and Regina Jaramillo and husband, Patrick; many loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Cida Trujillo and Rosie Leveque and husband, Larry; sister-in-law, Christina Sanchez; and brother-in-law, Alfred McGill. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Wednesday, August 20th beginning with a Viewing at 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. WILLIAMS, GREGORY STEPHEN SR. Gregory (Big Greg) Williams Senior, 60, a resident of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho left in peace on August 14th, 2014. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 40 years, Christine D. Williams; his three children, Gregory Williams Junior and his wife Kat of Rio Rancho, Melissa Williams and Monica Williams of Albuquerque; his five grandchildren, Haley, Noah, Landon, Nathan and Brooke. He is also survived by his three brothers: Richie Williams and wife Carla, Marc Williams, Michael Williams, David Williams and wife Yolanda. He also leaves behind many others he cared for including his mother-in-law Jane Romero; three sister-in-laws, Cindy Shoobridge, Lori Romero, Dina Kotovsky and brother-in-law Lenny Romero. Greg will be remembered most as a loving and helpful husband, caring and supportive father, a grand grandfather, a kind son-in-law, a perfect brother-in-law, a meticulous mason, excellent coach, clever comedian, and friend for life.
