BARRESI -- Teresa D. "Grandma B" Barresi, 95, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Saturday, August 28, 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Martin and husband, Richard of Albuquerque, Cora Kirk and husband, Paul of DeSoto, TX; sons, Jess Barresi and special friend, Flo Samoyedny of Palm Bay, FL, Victor Barresi and wife, Marla of Kirkland, IL and David Barresi and wife, Sandy of Albuquerque; sisters, Lena Wrhel and Anna Nelson of Albuquerque, and Barbara Jennings of Edgewood; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper; sons, Anthony and Michael; and 2 grandsons, Tim and Donny Barresi. Grandma B, the matriarch of our family, was an inspiration to each of us. She was a beautiful person, loved to laugh, loved to visit and always had a generous loving heart. Mrs. Barresi was a member of McIntosh Senior Center, Los Volcanos Senior Center and a member of Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Church. Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. BAUMGARTNER -- J. Richard Baumgartner, 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Friday, August 27, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Patsy Baumgartner of Clovis, NM; sons, David Baumgartner of Laughlin, NV and Bruce Baumgartner and wife, Yolanda of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Alexis Baumgartner of Scottsdale, AZ; brother, Jack Baumgartner of Lubbock, TX; and sister, Joan Boisvert of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Baumgartner; and brothers, Paul and Bill Baumgartner. The family would like to thank his many friends for their time and generosity. Dick was an avid golfer and patron of the arts. He was a graduate of UNM and UNM Law School; then worked as a Labor Lawyer for the State of New Mexico for most of his career and was a member of the NM Bar Association. Graveside services are Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. HARALSON -- Ernest E. Haralson, 73, life long resident of Albuquerque, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle passed away peacefully Saturday, August 28, 2004 with his family at his side. Ernie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ella; son, James and wife, Kathryn of Truth or Consequences, NM; daughter, Barbara and husband, Brett Day of Albuquerque; son, Chris and wife, Deanna of Belen, NM; six grandchildren, Erika, Ashley, David, Ryan, Jamie, and Joshua; brother, Charles and wife, Ann of Aztec, NM; sisters, Loma Liesner of Aztec, NM and Ora Slusser of Bloomfield, NM; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ernie was a lifelong member of IBEW Local Union 611. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Alameda, 8818 2nd NW. Eulogy will be recited by Bruce Gardner. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. MAESTAS -- Martha A. Maestas, 33, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, August 28, 2004. She is survived by her fiancee, David Strittmatter of Albuquerque; mother, Manuelita Gonzales of Sandia Park; father, Jose A. Maestas of Cedar Crest; twin sister, Maria A. Castillo of Sandia Park; brothers, Jose A. Maestas Jr. of Sandia Park and Matt L. Maestas of Albuquerque; eight nieces and nephews, Anthony, Jessica, Matthew, Carlos, Julie, Brittney, Ariana, and Christopher; and a great-niece, Kayla. She was preceded in death by her son, Brandon. Martha graduated from Manzano High School and loved doing arts and crafts. She also loved spending time with her nephews, nieces and family. MAUK -- Timothy Andrew Mauk, 39, a resident of Albuquerque for 34 years, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 25, 2004. He is survived by his parents, Sam and Nancy; sister, Emily; grandmother, Rosa Mauk of Missouri; 7 uncles; 6 aunts; and numerous cousins. Tim was a graduate of Del Norte High School and Chapman University. He was a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 23 years. Tim will be sadly missed and always remembered by his loving family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Thomas Carlow, neuro-ophthalmologist, and to Dr. Hal Hankinson, Dr. David Brown, Dr. Paul Anthony, Dr. Andrew Metzger and Dr. Robert Ferraro. A private burial was held Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2004, 6:30 p.m., at Heights Cumberland Church, 8600 Academy Road NE. ROSTRO -- David Estrada Rostro, 75, was called to Heaven by our Lord, on August 28, 2004. He was born in Roswell, NM, on November 13, 1928 to Jesus and Antonia Rostro. David is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy M. Rostro; and his loving children, Dave and Christine Rostro, Patsy and Robert Garcia, Paul Rostro, James Rostro, Sabrina and Efren Garcia, Cynthia and Gary Saiz. David was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His presence will be missed but his strength will live on, in all of us. Rosary will be recited on Monday, August 30, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Bernalillo, NM. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church with Father Virgil Furfaro, Celebrant. STAEHLIN -- Alfred Carl Staehlin, 82, passed away among family at the Heart Institute of New Mexico on Saturday evening, August 28, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Dorthea Staehlin; sons, Alan Staehlin of Albuquerque and David Staehlin of Friday Harbor, WA; sister, Marlene Mathis and husband, David; stepchildren, Crest Merrill, Rockney Merrill, Tyla Merrill and Melanie Wycloff, whom all reside near Eagar, AZ; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at the Amity Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Eagar, AZ. A public viewing will be held the preceding day from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Owen's Funeral Home in Eagar. Al was born and raised in Albuquerque, attended Albuquerque High School and was a part of Albuquerque Plumbing and Heating, established by his grandfather, Augusta Staehlin, in the late 1800's. During high school Al served as president of the ski club-skiing a passion only surpassed by his love of dancing. Al signed up for military service in August of 1942 and proudly served his country during WWII, operating a radio navigation beacon located on Baffin Island in the Artic which provided a homing signal for troop and supply planes making the great circle navigation route to/from Europe in preparation of the invasion of Normandy. After the war, Al went on to become a NM State plumbing inspector and was responsible for ensuring code compliance and for investigating natural gas asphyxiation cases for the next 20 years. After retiring from the state, Al became supervisor of plumbing facilities maintenance at the University of New Mexico for an additional 15 years. Al was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Al moved to Eagar, AZ in 1977 with his wife, Dot where he has since resided. In closing, the family would like to acknowledge and say thank you to the staff of the Heart Institute of New Mexico for the caring, compassion and kindness they provided throughout this most difficult time.

DOCKHAM -- Ruth Iva Dockham, 84, a teacher in the Albuquerque Public Schools system from 1963-1983, passed away suddenly at the U.S. Soldiers' and Airmen's Home in Washington, D.C., on August 21, 2004. Mrs. Dockham was born in Portland, OR, and grew up in Seattle. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. She was married to the late Ralph Dockham of Albuquerque. She is survived by her brother, David Bullock, of Silverdale, WA, and her daughter, Carol Dockham, of Lorton, VA. Funeral services are scheduled for August 30 at Quantico National Cemetery in Virginia.
