BELMORE, EDWARD JAMES Our "gentle spirit", age 54 of Rio Rancho, NM entered the eternal kingdom surrounded by the love of his family and pastor Michael on Monday, February 24, 2014. He is preceded in death and was loved very much by his father-in-law, Lyle Peterson, of Santa Fe, NM; his grandparents, Edward and Dorothy Belmore, Harry, Vi and Thelma Thompson; sister, Kimberly Barry; special friends, Charlie Holcomb and Tim Hurley. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie; parents, Edward and Phyllis Belmore of Gwinn, MI; Patricia and Dennis Thompson-Ford, of Ellendale, ND; his mother-in-law, Nina and Ted Peterson-Osborn, of Shelby, MI; his brother, Tim and Jennifer Belmore, of ND, brother, Clark; sisters, Laura Taube, Beverly, Cheryl and Sandra Belmore, of MI. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, as well as his god child, Marissa Peterson. CAMPBELL, RICHARD E. (DICK) 
Age 80, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2014 with his loving family by his side after a brief illness at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born in Perry, NY on March 22, 1933. He served in both the US Navy and US Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force after 26 years of service. He enjoyed traveling around the country in his RV and meeting many people on the road. He was an avid baseball fan and especially liked the Colorado Rockies. He loved spending time with his family, always making time to attend his grandsons' sporting events. He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta, father Charles, mother Margaret, sisters Wanita Miles and Helen Rosenburg, his son Richard, his grandson Christopher Robert & Robert's life partner Diane Decker. He is survived by his son Charles and his wife Diana of Queen Creek, AZ; son Robert of Edgewood, NM; son Gary of Cheyenne, WY; grandsons Justin of Phoenix, AZ; Brian, Steven and Tyler of Queen Creek, AZ; and great-granddaughter Camille of Phoenix, AZ. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at Heights First Church of the Nazarene in Albuquerque, NM on Friday, February 28, 2014. CASSO, HENRY J. DR. Henry J. Casso, a man of unyielding faith, a loving father and adoring grandfather, passed peacefully at age 82 on February 24, 2014. He was a man who dedicated his life in service to others and promoting social change for the equality and advancement of Mexican-Americans. The impact of his life accomplishments will continue to resonate long after his departure. Born December, 1931, to Jesse Quintanilla Casso and Louisa Diaz Casso, he and his five siblings grew up in St. Peter's and St. Joseph's Home in San Antonio, Texas. He was ordained a priest in the Roman Catholic Church in 1957. With a passion for the poor, equal rights for Mexican-Americans and the youth, his ministry was zealous and far-reaching. He spearheaded the creation of the Don Bosco Youth Center which still flourishes today in San Antonio. Dr. Casso served President Lyndon B. Johnson as a leader in his "War on Poverty" in the 1960's and founded PADRES (Padres Asociados para Derechos Religiosos, Educativos Y Sociales) in 1969. PADRES became a powerful force for change within the Catholic Church for the increased representation of Mexican-American priests and bishops among the clergy. As a champion of civil rights, he helped establish MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense Fund) to assure that Mexican-Americans would gain fair representation within the legal system through advancing participation of Mexican-Americans in all aspects of society. In the second phase of his life, Dr. Casso pioneered the Massachusetts Undergraduate Teacher Training Bilingual Program while he was an educational doctoral student at the University of Massachusetts. He started a family and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1973. As a professor in the school of education at the University of New Mexico, he continued his pursuit for bilingual education in public schools and served as a member of Governor Bruce King's state-wide Education Task Force. Dr. Casso was a man who believed in inspiring youth to excel and pursue higher education. He founded the National Institute for Professional Development - Project Uplift - in 1976 and, for the following three decades, over tens of thousands of high-school and university students would benefit from its initiatives. Project Uplift conducted annual Spring and Summer Institutes in New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado to introduce students to STEM careers and the manner of pursuing higher education. To expand his influence, Dr. Casso produced 325 half-hour television programs that were broadcast on ABC affiliate KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the late 90's, the Director General of UNESCO welcomed Project Uplift to Costa Rica. In his retirement, Dr. Casso dedicated his life to the preservation of Hispanic Culture and the impact of the Catholic Church in Mexico, New Mexico and Texas. As a noted scholar, his final years have been dedicated to the Father Margil y Sor Maria de Agreda Initiative. Sor Maria de Jesus de Agreda, otherwise known as the Blue Nun, galvanized the spread of Catholicism among the Native Americans through documented bilocation. A dedicated group of historians and believers have vowed to continue the initiative. Henry J. Casso is known by many as an intellectual, a scholar and a leader. He is described as a gentle, kind man with an ardent devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Dr. Casso is survived by his loving sister, Sister Carmelta Casso, IWBS; his daughter Marialuisa Casso; his daughter Carin and son-in-law Jon Reinhardt; and his two grandchildren, Noah and Isabella. CORELIS, JOHN G. SR. age 92, of Golden, NM, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2014. John was a great father and husband. He loved his family, his Greek heritage, fishing, and boxing. He was a proud Marine that Honorably served in both World War II and Korea. Born in Moline, IL., he was a treasure hunter at heart who followed his prospecting and mining dream west to the San Pedro Mountains, spending over fifty years in the area. John's legacy is left to his sister Helen Corelis of Moline, IL.; wife Rose Mary Corelis of Golden, NM; three sons, John Corelis Jr. of Lubbock, TX, David Corelis of Albuquerque, NM and Chris Corelis of Golden, NM; daughter, Theresa Pool of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. DAISLEY, HELEN M. Age 89, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014. She was born in Escanaba, MI on March 14, 1924, to Gothard and Marie (Larson) Arntzen. She and her husband of almost 50 years, Richard J. Daisley moved to Rio Rancho, NM in 1992. They had previously lived in Ontario, CA. She was a member of Community of Joy Lutheran Church and enjoyed plastic canvas sewing, as well as, sewing. Helen is survived by her husband, Richard J. Daisley of Rio Rancho, NM; sons, Rusty Stiffler of GA, Craig Stiffler and wife, Carollee, of Apple Valley, CA, Kryk Stiffler of Upland, CA, and Skip Stiffler of West Palm Beach, CA; two grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. ELIAS, CHARLIE Age 81, owner of Charlie's Front and Back Door, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 after a short illness. Charlie is survived by his son, Jamie Elias; daughters Jehan Elias and Pam Trent; granddaughters Lori and Abby; sister Sissy Elias and brother Dick Elias; two special family members Patti Morrison and Steve Arias, Godson Jamie Morrison and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Franchini Basham. Charlie was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico and served in the United States Army during the Korean War, after which he started his career working for his Uncle Joe Martinez at the Sunset Inn. Charlie later opened his first restaurant along with his brother, The Paddock Supper Club and Silver Spur Fried Chicken. In 1965, he opened his own business called Charlie's Liquors. In 1966, he built Charlie's Back Door and in 1971, opened Charlie's Front Door. From the 1970s-mid90s, his other ventures included Fanny Farkle's and Charlie's Other Door. Charlie had many dear and dedicated employees over the years, some of whom are Polly Lyons, Arnold Morano, Bridget Windle, Melecio Ortega and Paul Griego. Charlie is joining many best friends, including Ron Morrison, John Tetter, Dick Chess, Dick Campbell and Chuck Edmonds. Charlie was a special host, as he was always there to greet you. KELLY, KENNETH E. Age 76, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22nd, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born in Silver City, NM on May 11th, 1937 to Esias and Leta Pearl Kelly, and grew up in Glenwood, NM. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 25 years, Aggie T. Kelly and infant son, Perry Raymond Kelly. Mr Kelly is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lois Kelly and her children: Danny Chico, Gloria Brown, and Kevin Chico (deceased). He is also survived by his children: Rick Kelly, KellyAnn Kelly, Leda Kelly Barbosa, Kimmy Kelly, Candace Kelly Lopez, Theresa Kelly Schlegel, and Glory Mendoza along with 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren., Kelly was a Korean War Veteran and retired from the Albuquerque Fire Dept. He loved hunting and fishing, playing guitar, rodeo, but most of all he loved his family. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, Feb. 28th, at 1pm with visitation beginning at 12:30pm at Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Dr SW. A Catholic Mass will follow on Saturday, March 1st at 12 noon at Santo Nino Parish in Aragon, NM. Interment to follow.

MARTINEZ, DONNA Donna Jane Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2014. PIAZZA, LESLIE G. Age 51, went to be with her heavenly Father, February 24, 2014. PIMENTEL, AGUSTIN Agustin Pimentel, a Master Guitar Maker, passed away Monday, February 24th of an aneurysm. He is a member of the famous guitar makers established by the late Lorenzo Pimentel in 1951. Agustin was a dedicated Luthier and gave back to the community and his family always helping and making sure that his families were safe and if they were in need of even the smallest of things he was there to care for them. Agustin loved to innovate along with his brothers Rick, Robert and Victor in building a better instrument by redesigning the bracing system and/or the look and shape of the guitar. He strived in building the best guitar he could possibly build. He loved working alongside his brothers and always made suggestions to make our work load easier. His hobby was learning to play the guitar like his brothers Hector and Gustavo, classical guitarists. He learned to play it well especially when he played music on a guitar he just finished. He also loved helping in the Pimentel Concert series that are a tribute to the late Lorenzo Pimentel and an honor to their mother Josefina Pimentel. His eyes lit up just knowing he was helping the family to make these concerts successful. Agustin built many guitars and his soul will be heard through the music that is played on his guitars. People from all over the world really love Agustin`s modest since of humor and enjoyed his smile and trusted and listened to his ideals when he spoke of whatever subject they would bring up. There was a poem written about a guitar Agustin built which is what Agustin`s soul reflects, " My Lady Pimentel"--" Evening-Day is drawing down, the horizon flee, bringing starlight to our skies, while you speak softly to me, your breath, warm and fragrant in my ear. This is the magic hour, when two hearts beat each to each, and so entwined become that where one stops, and the other begins, is just a mystery" The Pimentel Family is extremely shattered and saddened to misbelief of his sudden death. The family feels as if each and everyone of them has lost their right arm.
