HOPPER, JAMES PAUL On January 11, 2014 James "Jim" Paul Hopper, born September 30, 1942, of Moriarty, NM, returned to live with his Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with pneumonia. Jim was born in Albuquerque and grew up in the North Valley. He graduated from Valley High School and remained in New Mexico his entire life. Jim joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1981 and was subsequently sealed to his lovely wife in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Jim was an avid horseman and cowboy and he learned of life's lessons in those professions. He subsequently worked in the field of water wells and at Yellow Freight. Jim spent many years serving his community as a volunteer firefighter in Valencia County. His favorite hobby was building and admiring classic street rods. Many a car show saw Jim in attendance. Jim's many grandchildren were the apples of his eye and brought him much joy and happiness. He is preceded in death by his parents Daniel Paul Hopper and Kittie Inez Hopper; and two of his sisters, Joan Nichols and Mary Bertram. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Helen E. Hopper; and his six children, Darro Hopper, Bobbi Olson and her husband Jim, Dominic P. Lewis Hopper and his wife Stephanie, Alisha Walz and her husband Jerry, Philip Hopper, and David Hoppe; and 19 grandchildren, Cody, Brian, Caitlyn, Rowdy, Kaden, Karsen, Rhagen, Preslie, Braden, MacKenzie, Kathleen, Jerry, Jackson, Claire, Gregory, Owan, James, Joshua, and Jordan. He is also survived by two sisters Billie Coffey of Rio Rancho, and Margaret Schear and her husband Jerry of Moriarty, plus numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 5709 Haines Ave, NE, Albuquerque, NM. A viewing will be held at 9:00 am with funeral services beginning at 9:30 am. Arrangements are being handled by French Mortuary at 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Pallbearers are Dale Bradshaw, John Mathews, Ted Tietjen, Jerry Clark Sr., David Oakes, and Mark Hopper. LOPEZ, CHARISSA Charissa H. Kerrisk-Lopez died on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in Carlsbad, NM. Charissa was born in Albuquerque, NM on May 20, 1979. She lived in Santa Fe, NM and graduated from Capital High School in 1997. She lived in Albuquerque, NM from 1997 to 2013 when she moved to Carlsbad, NM. Charissa is survived by her parents, Jerry and Barbara Kerrisk, Santa Fe, NM; her sister Jillian Kerrisk, Miami, FL; her daughter Dakoda Crawford, Albuquerque, NM; Dennis and Shirley Kerrisk, Dacono, CO; and various cousins. A private memorial service will be held.

MCWHIRTER, WILLIAM E. "GENE" age 69, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014. Gene was a member of Teamsters Local 492 for over 35 years. He was a very loving father, grandfather, friend and neighbor. He was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas in 1944, moved to New Mexico in 1972 and has resided here since. Gene's generous and loving nature as well as sense of humor will be greatly missed by all. Gene was preceded in death by his father, William F. McWhirter and mother, Idress C. McWhirter. He is survived by two sons; one daughter; three grandsons; and two granddaughters. Services are not scheduled at this time. OLIVAS, ROBERT R. Loving father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the age of 84. He was born in Bronte, Texas to Juan and Canuta Olivas. Robert adored his family and loved spending time with them. He was a retired truck driver with ABF and loved the time he spent on the road. He was preceded in death by his wife Tillie Olivas and son Steven M. Olivas. Robert is survived by his children Robert J. Olivas and wife Sherly, Anthony E. Olivas, Frank D. Olivas, Philip W. Olivas, Vivian R. Garcia and husband Paul Sr., Daniel L. Olivas and wife Christa; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother James Olivas and wife Viola; sister Frances Gutierrez and numerous relatives and friends. Robert will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The Olivas Family would like to thank Rudy J. Chavez, Steven Chavez and the staff at Casa De Rosa Assisted Living and Heritage Hospice Staff. SUTPHIN, TERRY Age 54, long time resident of Albuquerque, unexpectedly passed away January 10, 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother Maryann Sutphin. He is survived by his two sons Chris and Sean Sutphin; ex-wife Tara Sutphin and her daughter Ariel Leopard; his father Norman Sutphin; brother J.W. Sutphin; and sisters Debbie White & Sherri Ortiz and her husband Richard Ortiz; ten nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews. Terry graduated from Sandia High School in 1978 and had worked in the grocery business until he was no longer able to. He was diagnosed with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) in 2005, while recent complications caused him to pass unexpectedly. Terry was a avid fisherman, hunter and outdoors man, whose characteristics have been rubbed off on his boys. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held Wednesday, January 15th at 11:00am at Sagebrush Community Church on Coors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association.

WIESCH, RICHARD (DICK) W. JR. Richard (Dick) W. Wiesch, Jr. passed away on January 10, 2014. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Katherine. He is survived by Sandy, Dave, Maureen and Bob and their respective families. Dick was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran. You would find him working at ACF in his early 20's and later retired from the G.E. Aircraft plant. He was a member of the Elks, Lions, American Legion, and Edelweiss Am Rio Grande German American clubs, and he was a proud Freemason for over 55 years. Dick was also a high scoring left- handed bowler and loved country music. Come and celebrate his long and full life with Pastor Pat Holman officiating and a Masonic funeral service on January 15th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church located at 1100 Indian School Rd NE at 11:00am. He will be interred with Military honors at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Special thanks to the hospice nurses at Anna Kasemann and others. In lieu of flowers, please take time to enjoy your life. ZOZAYA, BEATRICE Age 79, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 12, 2014, while surround by her loving family. She was a resident of Albuquerque, NM. Beatrice will be fondly remembered as a "Fashionista" as her daughter called her; a lady of high standards. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcelino and Cleotilde Garcia; sisters, Anges Lujan, Rebecca Garcia; brothers, John and Frank Garcia; her husband, Armando Zozaya. Beatrice is survived by her loving children, Michael Zozaya and wife Cheryl of Laguna Hills, CA, Irene Valenzuela and husband Arthur of Rowland Heights, CA, Edward Zozaya and wife Judaline of Mesa, AZ, and Kathryn Tafoya and husband Andrew of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Raquel, Edward Jr., Katrina, David, Eric, Samantha; her great-grandchildren, Kaithyn, Ynaya, Edward III, Lynex, & David; her brother Tom Garcia; and many other relatives and friends. Beatrice will be greatly missed by all.
