BEACH, ROSALIE (BACA) Rosalie (Baca) Beach, age 98, (The Littlest Ranger) passed away on November 1, 2013. Born in Punta de Agua, NM, she was the daughter of Elfego and Amalia Baca now deceased. Her beloved husband William A. (Bill) Beach passed away several years ago. She is survived by her children: Rita Nadine Scala and husband Paul E. Pierce; Esther Corinne Margulies and husband Richard; William G. Beach (Bill) and wife Gloria; Nancy Lee Townson and husband Richard (Ricky); Carlos Cortez (adopted) and wife Patricia; sister Stella Dubbin and husband Marvin; three grandchildren: Jeffery Word and wife Laura; Robin Scala Lee and husband Wan Shen; Richard Chutro and wife Aimee; S. Richard (adopted); five great- grandchildren: Sebastian Word, Ian Word, Sarah Chutro, Bobby Chutro, and Abigail Chutro; nieces and nephews: Shirley, Sonny, Judy, Melissa, Mark, Greg Jr. and her brother Greg's many lovely daughters whose names all start with a "Y"; Shannon and Shane Baca and many Baca and Romero relatives, cousins and friends. Rosalie graduated from the old Albuquerque High School and frequently visited her classmate Bob Sieglitz, still surviving, who graduated with her the same year and the same class. She served as the "Littlest (civilian) Ranger" so called by the Ranger Department personnel for 33 years at Fort Benning, Georgia and flew by helicopter to deliver many supplies to the different Ranger Training camps throughout the southern part of the United States and served as a budget analyst. She always said, "Rangers all the way." They probably kept her on for 33 years because she always prepared the best New Mexico enchiladas for the rangers. She was inducted into the Ranger Hall of Fame as a civilian and was invited to attended almost all Ranger yearly conferences. She was a member of the Mountainair Catholic Church, Lacer's of America (she did tatting since the age of 8), past president of the American Business Women's Association (GA). Over the years she made rosaries for various veterans associations and bandages for various leper colonies still in existence. She taught English to many foreign wives whose husbands attended Ranger Training at Ft. Benning, GA, and volunteered and conducted fund-raising for several community civic organizations. She taught Spanish and tatting at the Senior Center. She celebrated her 98th birthday with 80 family, relatives and friends in August. A great Leo and an awesome woman and loving mother, sibling, aunt, grandmother,relative and friend to all and served with a heart who always cared for others. LEEMAN, JAMES EDWARD LEEMAN, ("ED") of Tijeras, NM, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 31, 2013. He was 82. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, June C. Leeman, his son Gary B. Leeman, and his step-children, Bradley A. Cosner and Kimberly C. Smith. Ed and his twin brother, Charles, were born in Bonham, TX, on November 11, 1930. Ed was active in ROTC at Texas A&M and was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. After receiving a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from UNM, he worked at Sandia Laboratories for 27 years. Ed loved the outdoors, music and building things. He was active in Promise Keepers and served in Christian lay ministry for many years alongside his wife June. Ed's infectious smile, curiosity and love for the Lord made deep impressions on all who knew him. A memorial service to celebrate Ed's life will be held on Wednesday, November 6, at 1:00 pm at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo Blvd., N.E.

MARTINEZ, GEORGIA (GOLLA) Georgia Martinez passed from this world on Friday, November 1, 2013 when she took the Lord's hand into hers and followed Him into heaven. Georgia was born Gregorita Alneda on September 12, 1925 to Genaro and Francisquita Madrid in Cebolla, NM. Her family and friends know her as Golla. Georgia is survived by her children; sons, Richard Martinez and wife, Dolores and John Martinez of Albuquerque, Bill Martinez and wife, Barbara of Peralta N.M. and daughter, Christine Consuelo Martinez-Garcia of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Blythe Mireles and husband, Edward, Antonia Palma and husband, Brian, Lisa Guevara, Gavin Martinez, Michael Martinez (partner Melissa), Monica Martinez, Ana Garcia (partner Charles Martinez) and Rudy Garcia II; great-grandchildren, Rudy Garcia III, Alejandro Emilio Mireles, Inapo Rai Palma, Cruz Antonio Guevara, Justen Martinez, Frances Martinez and Adriana Martinez; beloved brother, Modesto Madrid of Canjilon NM; sisters, Rose Madrid of Rio Rancho, Cora Martinez and husband, Jimmy of Cebolla, Betty Galaz of California, and baby sister, Grace Bustos of Albuquerque whom she helped raise from birth; beloved sister-in-law and friend, Cidelia Miera of Espanola, sister-in-law, Faby Martinez of Chimayo, and close friends, Abbie Jaramillo, Lillie Martinez and Juanita Saavedra of Albuquerque. Georgia also had numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Georgia is preceded in death by her husband, Jose (Joe) Lisandro Martinez; parents, Genaro and Francisquita Madrid; infant sister, Esperanza Consuelo; and brother, Juan Isidro Madrid. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH Lomas, with her nephew Father Charlie Martinez reciting. A reception will follow. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. S.E., Albuquerque, NM., 87106, with Father Charlie Martinez Celebrant. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. following the mass. Pallbearers are; Rev. J. D. Miera, Steven Miera, Steve Otero, Ross Martinez, Genaro Madrid and Honorable Joseph Madrid. Georgia helped her parents in raising their family, worked on the family farm and attended school in Cebolla, NM. Georgia was a proficient homemaker by 8 or 9 years of age. Her nurturing instincts that were developed during those times remained with her throughout her life. At the outbreak of WWII, Georgia moved to Denver Colorado to live with her brother, Modesto, and worked at the Kaiser Denver Ordinance Plant for five years as a "bomb girl". Georgia wrote to her future husband Jose Lisandro Martinez while he served in Europe as part of a medical unit during this time. Georgia then moved on to work as a cook at Fitzsimons Army Medical Hospital near Denver. At the end of WWII Georgia married her husband upon his return from U.S. Army service. They settled in Albuquerque where Georgia worked as a waitress while her husband worked in construction and had treatment at the Veteran's Hospital for injury received during the war. While working as a waitress, Georgia became an avid Chicago Cubs fan through her contact with Chicago travelers passing thru Albuquerque. Georgia travelled to Denver and Phoenix to see her beloved Cubs play and rarely missed a televised game. Georgia was a loyal UNM Lobo basketball fan and attended countless games with her UNM student-son Richard or her friend Juanita Saavedra. Georgia was very active in the Democratic Party and served in various positions as a volunteer. Democratic office holders and candidates would often come to her home to solicit her support and be treated to her acclaimed home cooking. Georgia served as Precinct #19 Chairwoman for many years and was a delegate to the New Mexico Constitutional Convention in 1969. Georgia later operated her own catering service using the skills she developed as a child and while working in the food service business. Georgia was a life-long devout Catholic and was a member of the Blue Army and Sacred Heart Society. Georgia loved attending Sunday Mass and having breakfast after Mass with her children. Georgia was also a Red Hat Society member. Georgia's greatest joy was being with her great-grandchildren during their frequent visits to her home that is filled with toys and pictures of her family. RIVERA, GEORGE LEE Age 43, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 1, 2013. George is survived by his wife, Lacresia; daughters, LeeAnn Rivera and Candice Rivera; mother, Rita Ann Padilla and husband, Anthony; father, George Rivera and wife, Michele; brother, John Rivera; sister, Nicole Rivera; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. George was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Lorraine Montoya and George and Angie Rivera. George was the light of our family, the love and affection he always showed each and everyone with a kiss on the check, especially the love for his two beautiful daughters and only brother, John. He was truly blessed with such amazing talents, there wasn't a thing he couldn't do. His love of people and extreme generosity was incredible, he would literally give you the shirt off his back. He would just melt your heart. He has now joined his grandparents whom he now shares the same exact date that he left us all, November 1, with his grandmother. They will be joined in the Kingdom of Heaven. Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2013, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Patricia Muniz-Roberts. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Rivera, Ben Duran, Deandre Armijo, Albert Romero and Maurice Marks. STOREY, ROY P. A lifelong resident of Belen, NM passed away peacefully in the home he built, surrounded by his loving family and the love of his life his wife of 51 years. Roy was a 1958 graduate of Belen High School. He retired from a career with PNM at the age of 47. He was an active member of the New Mexico Jaycees serving as a Senator, State President and National Director. He refereed football and basketball games for over 30 years with the NMAA. He was involved with Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church where he served as Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister and mentored altar servers. He was selected as Padrino Del Santo Nino both in Bosque and in Belen. He was cherished by family and friends. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his family at Elephant Butte Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Guadalupe Storey; mother and father-in-law, Frank and Inez Birner; brothers, David and Felipe Storey; sister, Rita and husband, Louis Zamora; sister-in-law, Helen Storey; and brothers-in-law, Emilio Zamora, Frank Sanchez and John Birner. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Sara B. Storey; sons, Frank and Roderick Storey; daughter, Royceann and husband, Scott LaFayette; four grandchildren who were the apples of his eye, Ryan and Autumn Storey and Joshua and Holly LaFayette; brother, Dennis Storey; and sisters, Isabel Sanchez and Guadalupe Zamora; brother-in-law, Charles Birner and wife, Sharon; and sister-in-law, Celia Birner. Roy had 41 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. He was the glue that held his family together. His love and commitment to his family, friends and faith are an inspiration to us all. WITT, SANDRA LEE Sandra Lee Witt passed away October 23, 2013 in St. Louis, MO at the age of 60. A cherished wife, daughter, sister, mother, and friend, she was also a much beloved teacher at Desert Ridge Middle School and Los Ranchos, MacArthur, and S.Y. Jackson Elementary Schools. Sandra was well known by organizations and individuals for her selfless efforts to encourage, support, and comfort others. Her large circle of friends appreciated her generous, thoughtful spirit. Born in Florida and raised in Pennsylvania and California, Sandra had a teaching degree from San Diego State University and a Masters Degree from the University of New Mexico. At the center of her life was her beloved family. Sandra is survived by her parents, Donald and Audrey Mallick of Lancaster, CA; Von Witt, her husband of more than 35 years; son, Dr. Chad Witt and his wife, Dr. Jennifer York and their children, Adelyn and Hudson of St. Louis, MO; son, Keith Witt, his wife Amanda Solomon-Witt and their children, Noah Solomon and Jadyn Witt of Albuquerque, NM; son, Scott Witt and his girlfriend Amber Langefels of Clearwater Beach, FL; and brothers, Karl, Dave, and Darren Mallick and their families in California.
