ARAGON-MERCED N. SR. was born on October 15, 1936 and ended his suffering and joined our heavenly father on Thursday, July 11, 2013. He was a loving husband , father, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nepumecena and father, Basilio Aragon; ex-wife, Gloriana Martinez; grandson, Fernando; sister, Mena. Merced is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Leila N. Aragon; six wonderful children, Merced Jr. and his wife, Laverne, Juan Aragon and his wife, Lumar, Anthony Aragon, Randy Aragon and Harvey Aragon; loving daughter, Loretta Marroquine; loving niece, Katrina Dzul and other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish, 6440 Main St. Cuba, N.M. 87013. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 7:00pm. BACCA, REBECCA JANE She was outspoken, genuine and sincere in every setting, but also an attentive, respectful listener who spoke quietly and gently. I am grateful for so many things she did. BENNETT, BILLY EDWARD Age 86, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born in Burbank, OK to Oral and Albert C. Bennett, and grew up on the Osage Indian Reservation near Ponca City, OK. During his teen years, he lived in Brownstown, IL, graduating from Brownstown High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country in the Philippine Islands during WWII. Billy married his high school sweetheart, Lorine Hill on May 10, 1947. Two children blessed their lives; a son Stanley and a daughter Diane. He was a 1951 graduate of the University of Tulsa, with a B.S. in Petroleum Technology working for Exxon as a Petroleum Engineer. In 1967 he began teaching high school chemistry at Altamont, IL. In 1974, he went to Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, IL teaching petroleum technology. He continued as Petro-Tech director at Colorado Northwest Community College in Rangely, CO. He personally mentored hundreds of students and was a firm believer in continuously learning throughout one's lifetime. He stated, "You don't go to school to get smart, you go to school to learn, so you can truly live." July of 1981, he began as a manager of a gas research project contracted through Dresser Industries in Houston TX, continuing in this position until his retirement in 1989. He and Lorine settled in Rio Rancho, NM to enjoy retirement square-dancing and traveling throughout the United States and supporting the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta as camp-hosts. His other interests outside of teaching and geology were Boy Scouts, Explorers, fly-fishing, camp-outs with his family, teaching Sunday School, a Mason, and a member of the Rio Rancho United Methodist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife Lorine M. Hill of "66 years, 2 months, and 1 day", his son Stan of Jemez Springs, NM; four grandchildren: Kelly Dunham of Severance, CO; Patrick Bennett of Alameda, CA; Ryan Bennett of Walnut Creek, CA; Erik Jasper of Aurora, CO; and his sister Donia Reed of Denver area, CO; five great-grandchildren: Xavier, Tristen, Addison, Matthew and Ainsley. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Diane Jasper; two brothers and three sisters. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Rio Rancho United Methodist Church, 1652 Abrazo Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM. BLADERGROEN, BRIAN P. In memory of Brian Bladergroen, who left us far too soon on July 17, 2012. We will always miss you and remember your love of family and friends. Mr. Bladergroen lived for many years in Albuquerque, relocating to Bonita Springs, Florida in 2011. Predeceased by his father, Herman Bladergroen and his mother Margaret (Farrell) Bladergroen. Brian is survived by his two sons, Ian M. Bladergroen (wife Lauren and daughter Aubrey Helen) and Kyle D. Bladergroen, the mother of his children and former spouse, Lynne W. Bladergroen, all of Savannah, Georgia. He is also survived by his bros Michael, Kevin, Neil and Shaun, sisters Noreen and Patrice. The son of a USAF pilot, Brian grew up on many Air Force Bases in the US and overseas. He graduated from St Lucie FL Fire Acadmey in 1985. He was a dedicated and deeply committed father, spending many hours as a Little League coach and umpire. Brian was a horse shoe slinging, truck driving man and a die-hard, blue and white to the bone Colts fan his entire life, no matter what the score or location. Go Colts!

CASADOS, ANTONIA MARIANA Loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great- grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 11th, 2013 at the age of 96. She was born in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Felipe and Dolores Baca on April 12th, 1917. Antonia is a direct descendent and niece of the founder of Santa Rosa, Don Celso Baca. Antonia was raised in Santa Rosa and graduated from Santa Rosa High School and went on to receive a teaching certificate from New Mexico Normal University in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She spent several years teaching in a one room school house in Newkirk, New Mexico where she met her husband William Q. Casados and they wed in 1936. They raised their family in Santa Rosa, New Mexico where Antonia was an active member of the community. She enjoyed her job working as a selective service clerk for the federal government in Santa Rosa where she worked for over 20 years. Antonia was president of the PTA and the head of the March of Dimes fundraising campaign in Santa Rosa for many years. Antonia was a devout Catholic and an active member of the Saint Rose of Lima Parrish in Santa Rosa. Antonia moved to Albuquerque in 1972 where she completed her career with the federal government as a clerk for the housing authority at Kirtland Air Force Base. A cherished milestone, her 50th wedding anniversary, was celebrated in 1986 in Albuquerque. Antonia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, William Q. Casados, and her beloved son, William D. Casados. Antonia is survived by loving daughter, Dolores Gerhardt and her husband, Robert Gerhardt of Ruidoso, New Mexico and her devoted son, Andrew G. Casados and his fiancee, Cindy Baldwin of Albuquerque. She will be greatly missed by her ten grandchildren, Phillip, Christopher, Jeremy, Roberta , Michael , William, Regina, Desiree, Denise, and Lenora; along with her 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild with whom she adored and enjoyed spending time with. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Monday, July 15th at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming, NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico. DURAN, ANGELINA Angie was born on April 15, 1926 in Albuquerque, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 11, 2013 at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Sofia Garcia; her half-brother, Joe Garcia; and her husband, Octabiano Duran. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Tommy H. Contreras and Evelyn , Alex A. Contreras and Rebecca, Max F. Contreras and Victoria; half-sisters, Gayla Brautigam and Chris, Eileen Trujillo and Ruben, Elaine Sexton and Gene; grandchildren, Michelle Kidwell and Jeff, Lisa Gutierrez and Michael, Bianca Aguilar and Jeremy, Clarissa Midas and Tony, Tim Contreras and Desiree, Gabriel Contreras and Katalina, Bernadette Telles and Mike, Joshua Jaramillo and Rachel, Tomas Contreras and Angela, Raul Contreras and Stephanie, Carlos Contreras and Donna, Melissa Bagley and Christopher; step-daughters, Jennie Maestas and Gilbert, Kathy Tafoya and Tony, Patsy Duran and Gilbert; step-grandchildren, Chris Tafoya and Charlene, Brandon Tafoya, Conrad Maestas, GJ Maestas; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a special, kind and caring friend, Dolores "Lollie" Shumpert; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am on Monday, July 15. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetary. FLIGNER, SUZANNE COSANDEY SCHIESS age 101, died July 3, 2013 in Albuquerque. Born in 1912 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to Swiss immigrant parents, Jacob Schiess and Julie Cosandai Schiess, she was the middle of five children and grew up on a dairy farm. After graduating from teachers college at the age of 16, she taught in a one-room school, supporting herself and sending money home to her family. During World War II, she was a flight instrument instructor for the Army Air Corps at Chanute Field, Illinois, where she met and married her husband, Oscar M. Fligner, in 1943. They moved to Albuquerque in 1948, and Suzanne worked at Sandia Labs until 1951. They were married nearly 61 years, when Oscar died in 2004. Suzanne was always interested in the world and enthusiastically embraced life. She was an involved mom, and made sure that her three daughters learned to sew, swim, play music, and dance. She raised them to be independent and strong women who were able to take care of themselves, and encouraged them in their educational and professional endeavors. When the girls went to high school, she went back to school to get her real estate broker's license, working in several Albuquerque real estate offices and then opening her own business, Fligner Realty. After she retired, she continued her loves of reading, sewing, investing, and traveling. She became an expert on nutrition and healthy eating long before it was popular, and was an award winning baker at the New Mexico State Fair, where she also enjoyed attending the horse races and trying to pick the winning horse. She enjoyed her friends at Manzano del Sol, where she had lived since 2004, and was an active bridge player and exercise class participant (and instructor) until 3 years prior to her death. She was never happier than when she was able to spend time with her children and their families and friends. Suzanne is survived by three daughters, Corinne Fligner (Mark Wener), Seattle WA, Denise Fligner (Terry Edwards), Albuquerque, and Sharon Fligner-Lindquist (Ray Lindquist), of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, Leah Wener-Fligner, Zach Wener-Fligner, Morgan Edwards-Fligner, Edward Lindquist, and Suzanne (Suzi) Lindquist; one niece and two nephews, and grand and great-grand nephews and nieces. Her remains will be interred with Oscar's at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Special thanks for their care, kindness, and love, to her wonderful companion-caregivers for the last few years, Rosie Jones and Carrie Ann Maes, and to Mary Romero and Patricia Gallegos, who helped out in the last few months when mom needed extra care. GONZALES. MARY HELEN went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2013. Born in Tucumcari, NM on July 10, 1924, she is preceded in death by husband Orlando Gonzales, daughter Maria Elena Gonzales, mother Henrietta Trujillo, brother Archie Trujillo, andMary brother Joe Trujillo. Mary Helen is survived by 5 children: daughter Dolores Bilotto and son-in-law Tony Bilotto of Albuq.; daughter Yolanda Dyer and son-in-law Gary V. Dyer of Tampa, Florida; son Rudy Gonzales and companion Lilly King of Sunnyvale,CA.; son Michael Gonzales and daughter-in-law Peggy Gonzales of Albuq.; daughter Jo-Ann Brown and son-in-law Ron Brown of Albuq.; 10 grandchildren: Tammy Trujillo, Joey Trujillo, Bryan Trujillo, Mark K. Gonzales, Melissa Young, Mikayla Gonzales, Sonja Chavez, Jason Chavez, Gary Chavez, and Colby Brown, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Mary Helen served on the Senior Citizen Council Board. She was active in bowling, dancing, volleyball, traveling, modeling, cooking and loved to read biographies. Her most loved pastime was spending time with her children and their families. She loved butterflies, the color lavender, listening to Big Band music and being a fashion Diva. The Communion Service will be held Tuesday July 16th at St. Theresa Church (4th & Mildred) at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. GUTHALS, JOHN HERMAN III Age 76, of Albuquerque, NM died on July 9th, 2013. John was born on March 16th, 1937 to John and La Rue Guthals. He was born in Manzanola, CO and raised in Clovis, NM. He continued his education at ENMU until he was drafted into the Army in 1958. While stationed in San Francisco he met his wife Elna (Lou). They were married in 1965 until her passing in 2008. They enjoyed 43 wonderful years together and now join each other in heaven. They had two sons, Michael and Jim. John went back to school in his mid forties and redirected his career to become a successful computer programmer. He would want everyone to know that it is never too late to learn new things. He enjoyed all things involving Lobo sports. He is going to be missed by his sons as well as siblings, Marcia, Howard, Eugene, Betty, and Marcy. He was also very proud and spoke fondly of his numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

GUTIERREZ, LISA R. Age 52, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, N.M. passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Lisa Loved cutting hair and went to barber school in her 30s. She supported herself as a property manager and she donated her extra time and energy to Meals-on-Wheels. Lisa will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Martha M. Gutierrez; her father, Marcelo R. Gutierrez; her brother, Marcelo E. Gutierrez; and grandmother, Clarinda Pena. HALSELL, ROBERT "BOB" D. COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR US ARMY - RET. age 52, passed away on May 16, 2013 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was born on November 3, 1960 in Las Vegas, NM, the son of Thomas "Tom" R. and Shelby K. (Abel) Halsell. Bob grew up in Hatch, NM and graduated from Hatch Valley High School in 1979. He was an outstanding football and basketball player. He was also actively involved in FFA and was member of the 1978 National Meat Judging Championship team. Bob enlisted into the US Army in May, 1979 at Ft. Bliss, TX. He served the majority of his career in the 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell, KY and the 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Drum, NY. His deployments included Southwest Asia, Bosnia/ Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. His medals are numerous and rightfully earned: Bronze Star Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, eight Army Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Service Meads, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Driver Mechanic Badge, and the Bronze German Armed Forces Parachutist Badge. He retired from the Army in September of 2005 at Ft. Drum, NY and received the Legion of Merit Award. Upon retirement, Bob returned to Clarksville, TN to breed and raise horses. But, retirement did not last too long and he began working for several defense contracting companies until the time of his death. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Shelby K. Halsell; father-in-law and mother in-law, Clyde F. and Ople "Vicki" Hall; maternal-grandparents, Mildred Edith "Mickey" McCormack and August Abel; his paternal-grandparents, Thomas Eli "Buster" and Jessie Halsell; maternal-great-grandparents, Oral and Anna Thurston, August William and Hedwig Agusta Caroline Abel; aunt, Patricia G. Halsell. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jeannene Halsell of Clarksville, TN; children, Deanna Lea Herrington and husband, Kip, of Pearl Harbor, HI; Kathryn Elizabeth Arrington and husband, Sascha, of Hobbs, NM; Cody Tyrell Halsell of Clarksville, TN; and Randy McCullough of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Joel T. HARPER, IVY MARK Age 59, a resident of New Mexico since 1986, and born in Florence, Alabama, died Friday, July 12, 2013. He is survived by his spouse, Susan R Harper; children, Jennifer (Harper) and husband Joseph Leachman; and Joshua Harper and fiance Stephanie Euwema; grandchildren, Jaiden and Jentry Leachman; mother, Gladys Harper; sister, Wyna Behel; and brothers, Larry Harper and Dan Harper. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Ivy Harper. A member of Mountainside Church of Christ, Former Executive Director of the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home (ACCH), and a friend to all. HERRMAN, HERBERT (BERT) SANDERS was born on April 28, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York and died on April 12, 2013 in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. He is survived by his partner of 13 years, Guy Seiler of Tajique, New Mexico where they owned Casa Manzano Bed & Breakfast. Bert was honored to care for his mother, Evelyn the last four and a half years of her life while living in Tajique. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Herrman and sister-in-law, Sheila of Chestnut Ridge, New York. Bert had one niece, Dorene Stein of Nanuet, New York. He had four nephews: Michael (wife Cheryl) of Wellington, Florida; Adam (wife Linda) of Highland Mills, New York; Jason of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Brett (wife Karina) of Wyckoff, New Jersey. He is also survived by four great-nieces and seven great-nephews. Bert grew up in Larchmont, New York in Westchester County. After graduation from Mamaroneck High School in 1963, he attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania receiving a bachelor's degree in finance. He continued his education receiving his master's degree in journalism from Ohio University in 1968. Bert believed in service to our country. He was inducted into the United States Army on February 26, 1969 and was honorably discharged on December 4, 1970. He served in the USARPAC 25th Infantry Division and earned the rank of E5. He earned the following while serving: the National Defense Service Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal; the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm; the Vietnam Campaign Medal; the Bronze Star Medal with one oak leaf cluster and 2-OS Bars. In 1971 he moved to Philadelphia, PA and worked in public relations for 12 years before moving to Ft. Lauderdale, FL for two years. His true interest in writing was inspired by his move to San Francisco, CA in 1985. He studied many religions before his spiritual path followed the teachings of Zen. He started Alamo Square Press and published 18 books (2 of which he wrote) between 1985 and 1998 before moving to New Mexico. He was drawn to the spiritual connection here in New Mexico. He designed his dream home nestled in the foothills of the Manzano Mountains. In 2003 he wrote his final book entitled "Mountainair, N.M., Centennial History, 1903 - 2003." Many of the books he wrote and published are still in print. An open house in celebration of Bert's life will take place at Casa Manzano on August 10, 2013 from 11 am to 3 pm.

JARVIES, JOHNNY KARL passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013, suddenly at his home after a normal morning visit to the pond with his niece Sherrie and his great-grandniece Rio to go swim their dogs. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Ruby Jo and Robert Zafiratos of Fountain Valley Calif., and their daughter Sherrie Roth of Durango, Colo., Johnny's niece, who has two children: Cierra Harrison, who has four children with her husband Tom in Bayfield, Colo., and Dustin Clapp from Huntington Beach, Calif., along with David Clapp, Johnny's beloved nephew-in-law. He is also survived by his brother Joseph B. Jarvies of Newport Beach, Calif., his three children, Susan, Eric and Sasha, fifteen grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, and two half-sisters Rene' and Jennifer Jarvies from Albuquerque, N.M., both of whom have one child. Johnny is also survived by many cousins from uncles La Monte Jarvies and Donald Jarvies and one aunt, Deon Jarvies from Manassa, Colo. His father, Norman Joseph Jarvies, was born in Manassa, Colo., who would later move to Albuquerque, where he died in 1993. His mother Dora Irene (King) Jarvies was also born in Manassa and passed away in Albuquerque in 1998. His grandparents were John and Jesse Jarvies from Manassa, both deceased. Johnny was born on December 23, 1941, in Alamosa, Colo., and moved to Albuquerque at age ten with his family. As an adult in his twenties he started to work for the US Forestry Service in the mail room. He loved working there and made many friends over his 32-year career. He lived with his mother until her death in 1998 and then retired and moved to his niece Sherrie's home in Durango. His niece Sherri said, "Johnny loved everyone he met. He could not pass by anyone without going up and talking to them. He loved to attend all the sport activities of Raya, Junah, Moose (Reese), and Rio, his great-grandnieces and -nephews. He will be sorely missed by his family and many others, including those in his El Rancho Florida neighborhood that got to know him as a special person." He will be interred next to his mother in Albuquerque.

JENSEN, CAROLE ANN Carole Ann Jensen of Albuquerque, NM, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the age of 75. Carole was born to parents, Emil Arthur and Laura Marie (Hall) Mahlke in Valley City, ND, on July 9, 1938. Carole grew up in Wimbledon, ND, and after graduation moved to Fargo, ND, where she met her future husband. Carole married Wesley Eugene (Gene) Jensen of Williston, ND, on December 12, 1959. Carole and Gene resided in Fargo, ND, San Antonio, TX, Shawnee Mission, KS, Overland Park, KS, and Faucett, MO. Gene passed away in 1991, and Carole moved to Albuquerque, NM, in 1995 to be close to her daughter. Carole was preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings, Melvin Mahlke, Art Mahlke, Emil Mahlke Jr., Pearl Frahm, and Richard Mahlke. She is survived by siblings, Henrietta Killeen, Darlene Kennell, and Larry Mahlke. She is also survived by her two children, Daniel Eugene Jensen of Omaha, NE, and Deborah Lynn Jensen of Edgewood, NM; her five grandchildren, Travis Daniel Wesley Jensen of St. Paul, MN, Kelsey Alexandra Engels of Bellevue, NE, and Erik Robert Kill, Carina Michelle Kill, and Christopher Daniel Kill of Edgewood, NM; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Eugene Sorenson, Shawn Michael Sorenson, and Megan Louise Sorenson of Lincoln, NE, and Bianca Jela Jukic of Duluth, MN. Carole was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor, and she will be missed by all whose lives she has touched. LAYTON-DUNKIN, H. VIRGINIA "GINNY" Age 91, passed away July 9, 2013. She was born May 2, 1922 in Alton, IL to Roswell and Sarah Edelen. A resident of Albuquerque for fifty-eight years, she was preceded in death by her parents, her five brothers, five sisters and first husband of forty one years, Paul M. Layton. She was married to Doyle Dunkin for twenty five years prior to his death on February 26, 2013. Virginia is survived by one sister; Bonnie Wiseman; daughters, Patricia Halvorsen, Elizabeth Madsen and husband Jefery Madsen; son, Paul M. Layton Jr. and wife Tana Layton. MACHACEK, MARGARET ANN Age 69, passed away May 21, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born May 19, 1944 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A caregiver for many years in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. MCCULLOUGH, J.F., III "FLINT" Passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. A true original, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Born in Jacksonville, TX in 1945 to J. Fred, Jr. and Vera McCullough, he experienced serious allergies and asthma in the damp climate, prompting the family move to Albuquerque in 1950. He thrived in this dry land, graduating from Sandia High, attending Eastern New Mexico University and eventually following his father into a career in flooring sales. Achieving rapid success in the field, Flint owned several retail and commercial flooring stores, the most recent being The Carpet Company on Second Street NW. A consummate salesman, Flint had a keen fascination with people and their stories, as evidenced by his vast collection of friends from all walks of life. Flint was passionate about golf and sought to play rounds with friends on many courses across the country. He also loved basketball, and not only organized and coached a semi-pro team in his earlier years, but went on to be a lifelong, dedicated supporter of Lobo Basketball. In the latter stages of his life, he travelled more frequently, playing golf from coast to coast, enjoying beach vacations in Mexico with family and friends, and experiencing many other travel adventures. His strong exterior belied his heart full of compassion, which led him to countless acts of kindness and generosity. He particularly loved helping young people achieve their dreams and sponsored several aspiring pro golfers over the years. As business demanded less of his time, he invested even more in his family and friends, spending time with his children and grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. "Uncle Flint" became the source of many great stories. Flint is survived by a large family who loved him, including his children, J. Fred, III, Dustin, Melissa (Cox), Brooke (Zirlin) and Cheyanne, grandchildren Logan and Keegan Cox, brother, Tom, who is a longtime partner in The Carpet Company, and sister, Marti Wolf. He will be greatly missed by them all, as well as by their spouses, his numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She worked in El Paso and Las Cruces greater area as an elderly care provider. Her hobbies were spending quality time with her family and esspically her grand children. she always went out of her way to help others whomever needed assistance with her loving and caring ways. MOORE, EVA LANCHEN Age 88, passed away on July 10, 2013. She was born on March 2, 1925 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Her mother died shortly after childbirth, and she was adopted six months later by Charlie and Lanchen Sands. She lived in Red Wing, Minnesota and Charles City, Iowa. Eva received her BA from the State College of Iowa and her MA from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She taught English in Ottumwa and Clear Lake, Iowa. In 1955 she married Albert O. Moore and they moved to Albuquerque. From 1955 to 1971 she taught 7th grade English at Taft Junior High School. She served as a volunteer at Griegos Elementary School and Lovelace Hospital. She loved New Mexico and enjoyed needlepoint, crossword puzzles, reading, birds and dogs. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her two step-children, James C. (Peggy) Moore, Albuquerque, Kathy (Jon) Fisher, St. Paul, MN; four step-grandchildren, Daniela Moore and Evan (Lisa) Moore, Albuquerque, Jennifer (Stephen) Fasnacht, Monticello, Iowa, J Dylan Shaffer, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and four great-grandchildren. PHILLIPS, ELLEN CATHERINE loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, lost her battle with cancer and left this world on July 3, 2013. Ellen was born August 29th, 1950, and was the oldest of eight children. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Keaveny Sr. She is survived by her mother, Virgina Keaveny; husband, Larry Phillips; mother-in-law, Bernice Arnold; daughter, Tamara Phillips; grand children, Christopher Baldwin and Cassandra Baldwin; adopted granddaughter, Leanna Phillips; her siblings: Mary Barratt and husband Donald, Virgina Bosek, Theresa Keaveny, Dana Kelly and husband Charles, Robert Keaveny Jr. and wife Cynthia, Patricia Kaloczi and husband Steven, Edward Keaveny and wife Lisa; 9 nieces, 5 nephews, 4 great-nieces, and 4 great-nephews. Ellen was a project manager at the University of New Mexico and sat on the sustainability committee. She had an unwavering spirit, a kind heart, and a fierce sense of humor. TAYLOR, ALICE G. was born May 15, 1921 in Alamosa, Colorado. She went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in Albuquerque, where she resided for over 60 years. She was a well known and respected teacher, who taught spanish, math and english in the Los Lunas School System for 42 years. Alice enjoyed bowling, crafts, working around the house and venturing out on little excursions. She especially loved her variety of music. WILLIAMS, CHAN D. Age 81, died July 6, 2013. He was born in Utah and was a resident of Albuquerque since 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents, Celia and Ervin Williams. Chan is survived by his wife, Orlinda; son Daniel; grandson Dylan; brothers, Roger and wife Kaye, Gerald and wife Virginia, Martin and wife Mercy; sisters, Fran Williams, Faye Barker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Chan's remains will be interred at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 9:45 a.m.
