ADDY-DEAN, MARGIE E. departed from us on Monday, June 10, 2013. Margie was a life long Albuquerque resident, and member of the foothill congregation of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. There she will be remembered on Friday, June 14th at 4:00pm with a reception to follow at the home of her daughter DeAnna Cline. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Katherine Molton, her husband Nathan L Addy, infant daughter Roslyn Addy, sister Betty Judd, and brother John Molton, in-laws Bob and Maryellen Kueffer, and grandson Patrick Boone. She is survived by sisters, Lorraine Kerley and Lolita Molton; brother, Walter Molton; her children Regina Boone, Harold Addy, Jesse and Deanna Cline, John and Gloria Hearn, Chuck and Darlene Thiel; 21 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; and her endless family at the Kingdom Hall.

AMES-PINO, STEPHEN ALEX age 54, born May 21, 1959, passed on June 11, 2013. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, he attended West Mesa High School and served in the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by his father, James D. Ames; brother, Arthur Allen Ames; maternal grandparents, Emilia Gonzales-Pino, Silvano Nuanes-Pino; paternal grandmother, Dawna Eastman; and godfather Santos Garcia. He is survived by his mother, Nora Marie Pino-Ames; godmother, Virginia Garcia; sisters, Dawn M. Ames, Joanna J. Ames-Romero and her husband Jimmy Romero, Cynthia L. Ames, and Lisa M. Ames; nieces and nephews, Stephen Lee Ames, Emilia Davies, Andrew Davies, Antonio Zamora, Delano Zamora, Klarissa Ames, and Abdul Al-Hassien. He is loved by many friends and family. CADENA, EVANGELINE She was embraced by her Lord and is now next to her God. Born on July 26, 1949 and ascended into heaven escorted by God's angels on June 5, 2013. Vangie was a very happy women and provided tremendous amount of spirit and amusement to her husband, daughters, son and grandchildren. Her love for her husband, daughter, and son will be greatly missed. She loved music and singing as her husband played guitar. Betty Boop and bingo were her hobbies. Evangeline was preceded in death by first husband, Gilbert Armijo Sr.; daughter, Debra; and sisters, Marylou and Julia. Evangeline is survived by her husband, Chaz Cadena; special daughter, Margaret Cadena, star of her life, and her Patrick (fiancee); grandsons, Azeah and Acyn, twinkles in her eyes; son, Gilbert Armijo Jr., whom she asked God to watch over him when he rode his harley; daughter, Diane; sister, Christy; sister-in-law, Belen, her tail. Also many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. CASTILLO-WILSON, LARRY Rev. Larry Eugene Castillo-Wilson, age 65, of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Larry is survived by wife, Rosa Castillo-Wilson of 43 years; his son, Casidy Castillo-Wilson, of Dallas, TX; his daughter, Carisa Bustillos-Givens and husband, Alester, of Cedar Hill, TX; two granddaughters, Ysabel Merrian and Reina Tian; his sister, Marcia Harlan and husband, Stan, of San Marcos, TX; his brother, Ron Wilson and wife, Karen, of Garland, TX; and his sister Linda Hendryx, of Central Point, OR; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Merriam Wilson; and his brother, Jimmy Wilson; mother-in-law, Valentina Gomez; son-in-law, Michael Bustillos. Larry was born August 21, 1947 in Downey, California. He married the love of his life, Rosa Linda Castillo, on June 7, 1970. He served as a minister in the United Methodist Church Conference since 1972. Throughout his life, Larry enjoyed historical research, writing poetry, and bike riding. He was a loving father, husband, and friend to all. KELLEY, VERNON E. "GENE" Age 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, died June 12, 2013. He Is survived by his wife Bobbie S. Kelley of Albuquerque; daughter Shannon Skinner and husband Chuck; grandsons Derek Skinner, Nicholas Skinner; great-grandchildren Jocelyn, Logan and Aurora; sister Sandra Cohen of New Jersey; sister-in-law Colleen Coontz; nephew Glenn Coontz and wife Jackie; and great niece Kelly Alhona and great-nephew Casey Coontz; and other nieces and nephews he held dear to his heart. Vernon was preceded in death by his mother and father Vernon N. and Mabel J. Kelley, brothers JC Kelley, Bob Kelley and Danny Kelley. Gene was an angel among men, a dedicated and truly loving husband, father and grandfather, and a friend to anyone he met. His daughter and grandchildren were truly blessed to have been given such a father. This world was better for his having been here. Vernon, an army veteran, was service manager for Galles Cadillac, Darwin Buick and Quality Pontiac in Albuquerque. His knowledge of automobiles was a gift to his family and anyone who sought service at the dealerships. The family would like thank the wonderful people at Kaseman Hospice who cared for Gene during his stay there and made his final time so peaceful. MEDINA-GUTIERREZ, BERNICE ELIZABETH was led by the angels to her heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 10, 2013. She was born in Fairview on February 20, 1955 and was raised in Alcalde. She was preceded in death by her grandparents that helped raise her, Trinidad and Camilo Medina; aunt/ madrina, Frances Martinez and several other relatives and friends. Bernice attended Espanola Valley High School and received a Master's Degree in Social Work from NMHU. She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and worked for the Albuquerque Public School system until her retirement. Along with working for A.P.S., Bernice was very community and civic-minded and received several accolades and recognitions for her service. She was nominated by the Governor to serve on the State Commission on the Status of Women, was a member of both the New Mexico Chapter and the National Association of Social Workers and was an active member of the MANA de Albuquerque. Bernice was a giving person and never hesitated to help someone in need; whether it was by giving food or money or simple advice. Many went to her for "consejos". Upon her retirement, she was a dedicated volunteer at the Store House food depot in Albuquerque. Her love for four legged friends was tremendous and she rescued many throughout the years. Pepper and Sugar are missing their mommy. We know that Bernice headed straight to the rainbow bridge to be with those pets that went before her. She was also a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed her "ribbing' of those in the family that were Denver Bronco fans. Those waiting to be reunited with her someday are her beloved husband of 31 years, Arsenio (Archie) Gutierrez of Albuquerque; mother, Lizzie Medina; sister, Elaine Martinez both of Alcalde; father-in-law, Tony Gutierrez of Santa Rosa; step-daughter, Emilia and husband Nathan of Las Cruces and their children, Javier and Cesar; niece and nephew whom she considered as her own, Amanda Martinez and her children, Lorenzo and Cheyenne and Adam Martinez and wife Brenda and their children, Roxanne, Ayden, Alize and Allen; aunt, Anita Martinez; uncle, Joe Martinez; several godchildren, beloved cousins, relatives, friends, neighbors and colleagues. Cremation has taken place. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alcalde. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alcalde. Burial to follow at the La Villita Catholic Cemetery. Her cousins serving the family as honorary pallbearers are: James Martinez, Walt Nolting, Michael, Roger, David and Paul Martinez, Tito Bustos and Andrew Medina. ORTIZ, JOE P. Age 87, of Bernalillo, passed away June 10, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret (Rinaldi) Ortiz; his children, Zelinda Ortiz (Larry Morales), Joseph Ortiz, Helene C'de Baca; brother, Charles Ortiz; sister, Pearl Stredni; grandchildren, Melissa and Kristen Work, Preciliano and Giovanni Ortiz, Margarita Boyd, Dominic Ortiz (deceased), Jennifer Strosberg, Daniel C'de Baca; and seven great- grandchildren. He was born in Pena Blanca, was a World War II veteran, and an auditor for the State Bureau of Revenue. REDDALL, GORDON C. LT. COL., USAF, RETIRED died of heart failure on June 9, 2013 at the age of 94. A veteran of WWII with service in the Pacific Theater, he continued serving during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Peacetime service included duties in Panama, England, and Turkey as well as stateside. Following his 26-year military career, he enjoyed civilian careers as an Airport Manager near Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and as a Business Development Representative. He was an ardent skier and bridge enthusiast. Many of his vacations were spent running the rapids of some of the world's great rivers, photographing them all. In particular, his historical films of the Colorado River are now housed in several western university museums. An Easterner by birth, a Westerner by choice, he had resided in Albuquerque since 1977. Surviving him are his wife; a son; two grandchildren; and a niece. No formal services will be held at his request.

RISING, THOMAS L. age 66, of Santa Fe, died on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in an accident in Alaska. He was born in Denver, CO on March 10, 1947, and married the love of his life, Carol, in 1969. Tom earned his professional degree from Colorado School of Mines in 1970, his Master's degree from Texas A&M in 1973 and his PhD from Colorado School of Mines in 1978. He had a long and fulfilling career as a metallurgist and engineer, working primarily at Rocky Flats and Los Alamos National Laboratories, retiring in 2012. Tom loved teaching, aviation, traveling, cooking, music and, most of all, family. He is survived by his wife, Carol Rising; daughter, Merideth Prevost and her husband, Guy Prevost; and mother, Annette Farnham. Friends and family are invited to an open house in celebration of his life on Saturday, June 15th between 2:00-5:00pm at 9520 Kandace Dr NW, Albuquerque, NM.

SUTHERLAND, KEITH Keith Sutherland "Skeeter", passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born in San Angelo, Texas in 1947, but considers himself a native New Mexican. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1956 where Skeeter started third grade at Whittier Elementary, continued at Wilson Junior High School and then graduated from Highland High School. He attended New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs and Fort Lewis in Durango. He was a Master Electrician and was well respected in the construction industry. While thinking about Skeeter, we'll always remember his keen sense of humor, his infectious laugh, his jokes and quick wit. Skeeter loved NASCAR, Indy racing and horse racing. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Ollie Sutherland and life time friend Gordy Smith. Keith leaves behind his son, Travis Sutherland and wonderful wife, Carol, his sister Sharon Byington (Lester), brothers Charles Sutherland and Larry Barryman (Jennifer), nieces and nephews DeeDee, Brian, Logan, Laci, Sean and Paul. He also had numerous friends and associates. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. SWAN, HELEN F. Helen F. Swan, a resident of Albuquerque for more than 55 years, died on June 7, 2013, in her home under the care of her family following a brief illness. She was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, April 1, 1923 (No Foolin'!). The majority of her childhood years through college were spent in Sandpoint, Idaho. Following a June 19, 1944 wedding to Donald C. Swan (WWII Army Captain), they made their homes in Idaho and Colorado prior to settling in Albuquerque in December 1956. She was a gifted musician in piano and organ. She was active in the Rio Grande Jazz Society, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Helen enjoyed reading, sports of all kinds, travel and a glass of wine with friends and family. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Alta Meacham Foster, Clarence Jack Foster, step-father, Roger Morris, step-brother Robert Morris; daughter-in-law, Ann McGovern Swan, and husband, Donald C. Swan. She is survived by son, Donald F. (Duffy) Swan (Jean Ann), son, Larry Swan; grandchildren, Kimberly Swan Youngblood (Randy), Julie Anna Swan Keller (Chris), Lisa Swan, Scott Swan (Keri); seven great- grandchildren; one great-great- grandson and the family of Regine Morris Record (Gerald) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family is concerned now about who will make huge quantities of potato salad and yummy flavors of homemade ice cream! Family, friends and neighbors will sorely miss Helen and her music. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15, at 4:00 pm, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church with reception to follow. TRIPP , KAREN Age 72, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on December 8, 1940, to Don L. and Elinor (Earl) Tripp. Karen moved from Albuquerque to El Paso, TX in the early 1950's where the family ran the city parks. She graduated from Burgess High School in 1958 and lettered in High School Chorus. Karen moved to Socorro in 1963 with her family and worked in the family jewelry store, Tripp Jewelers, for 35 years. She is best remembered for her great personality and friendly greeting to all customers who visited the Jewelry Store. Karen wrote "Karen's Korner" for the El Defensor Chieftain for twenty years. She loved announcing weddings, births and describing all the social events around town. Karen was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and dearly loved all her sorority sisters and the great socials around town. Karen spent the last several years at Good Samaritan in Socorro where she was the keeper of the social birthday calendar. Karen loved all the residents of Good Sam and considered them her second family. She was preceded in death by her father, Don L. Tripp Sr. Karen is survived by brother, Don L. Tripp Jr. and wife, Rosalind; her mother, Elinor Tripp; nephew, Don Tripp III; niece, Kimberly Gonzales and husband, Lonnie; and her great nieces and nephews, Jordan Gonzales, Teghann Gonzales, McKenna Gonzales, Thea Tripp, Casey Tripp, and Donald Tripp IV. A viewing will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Daniels Family Funeral Services chapel, 309 Garfield St., Socorro with Services to follow at 10:00 am.
