ADDIS, SARAH Age 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012. She was an active member of Risen Savior Catholic Church and took great joy in sharing her lovely voice with the Church Choir. She leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to her caretakers at Twin Oaks Assisted Living Facility and Presbyterian Hospice Services. A memorial Mass will be held at Risen Savior Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.. COBBLE, LYNNE MORTON Long time Albuquerque resident and World War II veteran Lynne Morton Cobble, passed away at home on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the age of 93. Lynne was born in Artesia, New Mexico, on September 5, 1919 to Effie Mae and James Franklin Cobble. He spent his youth on the family farm and was a member of Future Farmers of America. After graduating from Artesia High School, he volunteered for the U.S. Army, and served in Saipan during WWII. After the war, he was assigned to many U.S. embassies overseas, including those in Moscow, Russia, and Paris, France, where his work included decoding enemy messages. While living in Europe, Lynne met and mingled with many WWII luminaries and regaled his family and friends with great stories. Lynne retired from active military duty as a Master Sergeant after 20 years in the U.S. Army. He then began work with the U.S. government as a civil servant, where he served his country for an additional 20 years. After retirement, he enjoyed square dancing, country music, photography and videotaping performances. He will be remembered for his positive attitude, sense of humor, and love for people. Lynne was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eleanor Cobble; brothers, Morton, Paul, and James Cobble; and sisters, Juanita Gromo and Grace Marable. He is survived by one sister, Jean Gilliam, and brother-in-law Wade Gilliam, as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at FRENCH- Wyoming on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m., and services will be held on Thursday, January 3, at 11:00 a.m.. Internment will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico at 2:15 p.m. on January 3, 2013. DAVIS, MARION HASKELL was born in Cold Springs, OK on June 21, 1934 and passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Davis worked in Los Alamos for Zia Company and Los Alamos National Labs, retiring in 1985. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1990. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Viola Davis; his son in-law, Dan Kew. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen; brother, Don Davis; sister, Betty Lakey; daughters, Kimberly Kew, Pamela DiBenedetti and husband Frank, Melanie Virden and husband Russell; six grandchildren, Jerrod Kew and his wife Sara, Ashley Kew, Anthony DiBenedetti, Kaitlyn Orsburn, and her husband Brian, Dan Virden and Zachary Virden; three great-grandchildren, Drake Kew, Milee Kew and Tyler Orsburn. ELLIS, GLADYS GENEVIEVE Was born March 28, 1923 in Liberty, Nebraska. She passed away peacefully, December 27, 2012 at the age of 89. Genevieve grew up in nearby Sterling and later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. There, she worked as an executive secretary for the telephone company and a Red Cross nurses aide at Lincoln General Hospital. This is where she met, nursed and later married Harold O. Ellis. Genevieve dedicated her life to God, her husband and children. In 1960 the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She loved children so much, she devoted much of her time working in the "Mother's Day Out" program at church. Her children's friends and neighborhood children congregated at the Ellis home. She took them all under her wing and they loved Genevieve so much, to this day many of them still call her mom. She loved music, square dancing, travel, scrabble and Christmas. Genevieve is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Harold; her Children: Beth and her husband, Jim; Bob and his wife, Mary; Carol and her husband, Gil; Grandchildren: Claire, Scott and his wife, Britta, Holly and her husband, Michael and Alex; Great Grandchildren: Arianne and Noah. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 3,2013, 10:00 a.m. at: Asbury United Methodist Church 87112. LOPEZ, ROSE GALLEGOS, age 77, went to be with her Heavenly Father Friday December 28, 2012. Rose was born May 13, 1935 in Bernalillo, NM. Rose was preceded in death by her father and mother Joe and MaryLou Gallegos, her brother Gilbert Gallegos, and in-laws Ben and Anita Dimas. Rose is survived by her husband of 17 years, Freddy Lopez, her son Eddie Dimas and wife Shirley, two grandchildren Mark Dimas and Erin Collins, and her brother John Gallegos and wife Mary Alice. She is also survived by her in-laws Carlos and Delia Lopez of California, step children Carol Turjillo (Brandon), Richard Lopez (Karen), Jerry Lopez (Connie), Kathy Chavez (Alfred), Dennis Lopez (Monica), and Dorothy Chavez (Richard). She is also survived my numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Arrangements are being handled by Riverside Funeral Home. A viewing has been scheduled Monday December 31, 2012 at 9:00 am, services will follow at 10:00 am at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel, and internment at 11:30 am at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.

MARTINEZ, JOE B.A. Joe, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. He is survived by son: Paul Martinez; daughters: Annette Whitaker, Robin Martinez and Teresa Biddinger and husband David; sister: Prudence Chavez and husband Manuel; grandchildren: Michael, Steven, Emma, Nathan, and Taylor and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Martinez served in the U.S. Navy 22 years. He is a Vietnam veteran and retired from North County Transit in San Diego. He loved his N.M. Lobos, casinos and spending time with his family. ROGERS, JUANITA BAGLEY was born on July 30, 1930, in Proctor, Oklahoma and went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. She moved to California with her parents in the 1940's and later re-Iocated to Albuquerque to be near her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Rogers; parents, Thomas and Beulah Bagley; grandson, Christopher Kelbe; brothers, Pete, Wally and Junior; sisters, Margaret, Gerri and Louise. Juanita is survived by her daughter, Tina Rogers Kelbe, and husband Ray; grandchildren, Frank Kelbe and wife Kim, Kris Kelbe and Jim Kelbe; great-grandchildren, Samantha Barncastle, Kenny Barncastle and Lauren Kelbe; and great-great grandchildren, Eli Barncastle and Claire Barncastle; sister, Dora Matus, and husband, Mario; and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She maintained a strong faith and touched the lives of many during her lifetime. SOVEREIGN, JERRY A. Jerry A. Sovereign, 84, of Rio Rancho, NM passed away in the early morning hours of December 29, 2012 with his family at his side. He was born in a little log cabin in Melrose, MT on December 16, 1928 in the midst of a blizzard that required the doctor who delivered him to travel on horseback to arrive just in a knick of time. He proudly served his country in the Army at the conclusion of World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Washington Law School and was an accomplished criminal attorney. He served as a prosecutor for King County, WA and later as both a Deputy District Attorney and Deputy Public Defender for San Bernardino County, CA, retiring in 1994. He was a licensed private pilot. He was blessed with a green thumb that made his flowers, plants and vegetables the envy of all who visited his home. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara A. Sovereign of Rio Rancho, NM; his son, Kevin and wife Belinda of Rio Rancho, NM; granddaughter Shannon Harrison and her husband Justin as well as grandson Clark Sovereign, all of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by his daughter, Seanna Pilcher and husband John of Palm Springs, CA and grandson Brian Bader, great grandchildren Jonathon Bader and Alice Bader and grandson David Bader of San Bernardino. Jerry's family wishes to publicly thank the doctors, nurses and staff members of the Raymond G. Murphy VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM for the excellent, compassionate care and consideration they provided to him and his family in the latter years of his life, especially during his last days with us. TRUJILLO, SUSIE Age 66, went Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 with her daughters by her side. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Ponce and Maria Annette ("Nannie") Crespin and her husband, Luis Crespin; grandchildren, Rachael, Ricky, Johnny, Anthony, Crystal and Monica; great-grandchildren, Elias, Jazreal, Arrianna, Deztini and Donovan; many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and relatives. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Apolinar and Macedonia Rodriguez and Eloisa Esquibel; her husband, Joe Sam Trujillo and son-in-law Michael Ponce. Susie cared for the elderly for over 30 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Susie loved to cook and bake for her family. WHEELOCK, BARBARA Was born September, 1919, in Vallejo, CA to George Wheelock, Sr. and Lorena O'Gara Wheelock. Her paternal great- grandfather was an early settler of Northern California, arriving there from New England during the gold rush of 1849. Her great-grandmother followed and arrived in San Francisco after making the journey around the horn of South America. Her maternal great-grandfather, James Leeson, was born in Ireland, and after service in the Civil War, settled in Socorro, New Mexico in 1879. He was a well-known leader in the Territory and early days of New Mexico. Her parents moved from the Bay Area of California to Albuquerque in 1926. She graduated from Albuquerque High and attended Business College. She was employed in the office of the Assistant Chief of Engineers in Washington, DC during World War II. Near the end of the war, she returned to Albuquerque and worked for the military at both Kirtland Field and Sandia Base, but the balance of her career was as an employee of Sandia Laboratories. She retired from there after twenty-five years. Left to grieve is her beautiful Pruny. She is survived by her sister, Rose Tafoya and husband Herman; sister-in-law, Carolyn Wheelock, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George Wheelock Jr., who lost his life in World War II, brother David Wheelock, and brother, James Wheelock, Sr; and last beloved dog, Tina. She was known for her love of animals and many abandoned dogs and cats found a home with her. She loved them all and they have been waiting for her. Now they have crossed the Rainbow Bridge together. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at FRENCH - University, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. WILDER, DONALD ELTON (BIGD) An old cowboy reached the end of the trail today and took his last ride into eternity, to be with the love of his life, Karen Wilder (Nana) his wife of 51 years. His parents Jack and Leatrice Wilder, and his niece Lori Kinney Hurd Preceded him in death. He is survived by his four children, Rhonda Papen (Terry); Mark Wilder; Karri Wilder; Jenny Bradford (Dallas); five grand children, Justin (Ginnie "Tex"); Jarrod (Mike); Nichole (Dale); Chelsea (Matt); Joshua; six great-grand children, Reese and Will Simek; Ashton; Graysen; and Hattie Papen; and Oliver Lusk. He is also survived by his siblings Ronald Wilder (Mary Lu); Kay Kinney (Bob); Rita Pridemore; and his beloved neices and nephews and their children. The measure of a man is how he treats his family when nobody is looking. He gave, he taught, he cowboyed & he loved deeply. He died with his boots on. Services will be held Wednesday January 2, 2012. WRIGHT, BETTY EVELYN Age 88, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1971, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Betty was born in Philadelphia, PA to Warren and Elizabeth Greene. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Raymond and her oldest son Richard. She is survived by her sons Kenneth, Larry, and David (and her cat Charlie). She enjoyed driving and entering her car in shows and won many 1st place awards. Betty loved to travel and went on many cruises and visited Europe twice. For many years she was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society program "Reach to Recovery" and helped hundreds of ladies who were recovering from mastectomies. During WWII she was a riveter and worked on the P-47 Thunderbolt and P-38 Lightning aircraft for the war effort. Betty lived a full and happy life, and the family would like to thank the many people over the years that gave her the care that she needed before her passing. Services will be limited to the immediate family and she wanted it known that "in lieu of flowers or donations to organizations, "Go out and buy something nice for yourself!!"
