Obituary for WRIGHT

WRIGHT, BETTY EVELYN Age 88, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1971, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Betty was born in Philadelphia, PA to Warren and Elizabeth Greene. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Raymond and her oldest son Richard. She is survived by her sons Kenneth, Larry, and David (and her cat Charlie). She enjoyed driving and entering her car in shows and won many 1st place awards. Betty loved to travel and went on many cruises and visited Europe twice. For many years she was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society program "Reach to Recovery" and helped hundreds of ladies who were recovering from mastectomies. During WWII she was a riveter and worked on the P-47 Thunderbolt and P-38 Lightning aircraft for the war effort. Betty lived a full and happy life, and the family would like to thank the many people over the years that gave her the care that she needed before her passing. Services will be limited to the immediate family and she wanted it known that "in lieu of flowers or donations to organizations, "Go out and buy something nice for yourself!!"
