ALDERETE -- Rosario R. Alderete, 82, went to be with our Lord on Thursday May 13, 2010. She is survived by sons: Larry Alderete Jr. and Tom J. Alderete (Arlene); daughter: Rita M. Chavez (Delbert); brother: Daniel Rangel; sister: Francisca Ortega; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. AVERY -- Evelyn Avery, 90, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Avery Kellogg; sister-in-law, Ruth Oxenham of Gulf Breeze, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Stanley W. Avery in 2007. She was born in Oak Park, IL. on December 9, 1919. She and her family moved to Albuquerque in 1950. She and her daughter moved back to Albuquerque in 2008. Evelyn was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, and she was also a member of the Cosmopolitan Women's Club. Cremation has taken place. As per Evelyn's wishes no services will be held. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery. BIVENS -- Dale Griggs Bivens, 76, born June 5, 1933 in Marshalltown, Iowa passed away May 11, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Husband of Carolyn; father of Gerald, Randi and David; father-in-law to Sheila, Randall and Paige; grandfather of Kaylee, Christopher, Phillip and Fisher; honorary great-grandfather to Matthew; son of Raymond and Marie, brother of Phyllis. If you are a relative- relatively speaking you are great. If you were in the Army-When duty called, we responded. If you were a fellow Teacher-We made a difference. If you were a fellow actor at Western State College, Albuquerque Little Theater, Greenhorn Valley Players and Applause-We "acted well are parts, there in the honor lies". BYERS -- Mary C. Byers died suddenly on May 9, 2010. She was born in Waterford, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Lilian Owen, and graduated from Grove City College with a degree in Commerce. She married Don Byers in 1954. They traveled widely and lived in Switzerland, Texas, and Indonesia. After moving to Albuquerque in 1968 with her children, Mary had a long career in banking and real estate. She enjoyed an active retirement and was a loving mother and grandmother. Mary is survived by her son Bill; her daughter Donna Asher and husband Kelly; and her grandchildren, Melissa and Kathleen Asher. A private memorial gathering is pending. CHAVEZ -- John (Johnny) J. Chavez, 43, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on May 13, 2010 with his loving family at his side. Johnny is survived by his parents, Robert Jr. and Ruth Chavez; any many extended family members. Johnny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Sr. and Della Chavez, and Ramon A. and Sofia Sanchez; and his cousins, Joseph Sanchez, Johnny Esparza Jr., Julian Esparza, and Tracy Beauchamp. Visitation will be Monday, May 17, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 5415 Fortuna NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Tuesday at the Church from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Father Gene Gries, presider. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. CHAVEZ -- Priscilla Chavez, age 69, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on May 11, 2010. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Edward Chavez. She loved being with her husband and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Priscilla enjoyed reading and loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. CLEVENGER -- Sally Clevenger, 67, went to heaven on May 11, 2010. Sally is survived by her beloved husband Randall of 46 years; her children, Matthew, Paula, Carol, Michelle, and Keith; her grandchild Kyra; and her brother William Masters and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Mary. Sally was a beautiful, compassionate, and generous woman loved by her family and all who were fortunate enough to meet her.
