ACKERMAN -- Dr. Pastor Richard C. Ackerman born September 27, 1949 in Flushing N.Y. On Monday June 29, 2009 while in his sleep, had a major heart attack and had his final graduation into his Saviors arms. Richard had spent 30 years teaching and practicing Chiropractic care until the Lord called him to be one of His pastors. After moving to CA to attend seminary, five years and two masters later he planted "My Father's House Christian Fellowship" in So. CA. He was a man who loved God, a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son and Brother. He is survived by his loving wife Marylynn (Wafer) Ackerman; daughter Diana Kelch, son-in-law David; son, Robert Ackerman, daughter-in-law Kim; daughter; Tanya Ackerman; grandchildren, Gus, Audrey, Matthew, Mikayla and Kameron; his mother, Ruthe Ackerman and sister, Susan Ackerman. He was preceded in death by his father, Abraham Ackerman. There will be a memorial service on Saturday August 22, 2009 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd NE, 87109.

ADCOCK -- Rebecca "Becky" J. Adcock, PhD passed away August 19, 2009 from lung complications. She was born May 28, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM. While growing up Becky was a Brownie Scout, a Girl Scout, played piano, sang in the school chorus and belonged to the Rainbow Girls, achieving the highest rank of Worthy Advisor. She graduated with Honors from Manzano High School. Becky chose Oklahoma State University for a degree in microbiology, graduating in 1980. Accepted into OU Medical College, Becky completed two years before becoming an incomplete quadriplegic in 1983. Determined to be in a helping profession, she earned her Psychology degree from UCO in 1989, but her Masters and Ph.D. from Auburn in 1995. She completed her residency at University of Missouri Columbia in 1997 and her fellowship in Clinical Psychology at University of Washington Seattle in 1999, all this time living independently with caregivers. Upon returning to OKC "Dr. Becky" joined the staff at Him Thorpe Rehab Hospital remaining on staff until her death. From the time of her accident to her death Becky served as an example with her courage and loving spirit to affect and inspire countless people. Becky was a member of American Psychological Association and President of American Spinal Cord Injury Psychologists and Social Workers. Becky's favorite pastime was spending time with family, enjoying events at OSU, occasional concerts and baseball games. She adored her nieces and nephews and her beautiful Goddaughter, Malaya Howe. Becky established several scholarships for OSU students. Becky was blessed to have two sets of parents, Dick and Lynda Adcock and Frank Mashino and Carolyn Hunter. Becky is also survived by brothers Doug and Leesa of Houston, Rick and Brenda of Belen, NM and John and Cristal Everette of Albuquerque, NM; stepbrothers Jeremy Perrin of OKC, Dennis and Ann Maschino of Wisconsin, Brian and Marci Maschino of Wichita, David Maschino of Norman; as well as stepsisters Rachel and Mike Cerchia of Colorado Springs, and Lisa and John Strange of Blanchard; plus seven nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation for the Spinal Cord Program and Education sent to Jim Thorpe Administration, 4219 S. ARELLANO -- Antonio "Tony" Arellano, 82, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Born in Dawson, NM and after serving in the U.S. Navy, he settled in Albuquerque where he prospered and raised a beautiful loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, Narciso; mother, Cerilia; and brother Narciso. He is survived by four sons, David, Thomas, Marc and Michael; the loving mother of his four sons, Margarita; three granddaughters, Kristin, Nichole and Marisa; seven grandsons, Eric, Seth, Nathan, Joshua, Jason, Adam and Emilio; three great-granddaughters, Victoria, Kaley and Ava; three great-grandsons, Diego, Santiago and Logan; two sisters, Corina and Vangie; one brother, Alex; loving partner, Mary Ann Montoya and her daughters, Theresa and Annette; as well as numerous extend family members. In Dawson he excelled in both basketball and football leading the Miners to several district titles. Tony retired as a Maintenance and Operations Supervisor from APS and continued to enjoy life with his family. His life will be celebrated with a rosary on Sunday, August 24, 2009, 7:30 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE. BARRERAS -- Jean A. Barreras 1942-2009. Jean A. Barreras, a resident of Belen, NM. Physical life on earth came to an end for Jean at the age of 66, on Thursday, August 20, 2009. Her spiritual life began immediately and will continue forever. Jean will experience a beautiful new life of refined and inspired intelligence free from mental suffering and body pain. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ann Kirby and several aunts and uncles in Los Angeles, CA and Bristol, CT. Jean is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Barreras; son, Aaron; daughter, Stacey; her most beloved grandson, Dee; her twin sister, Joan; and her nephew, Jarad. She also leaves behind numerous relatives in Los Angeles and Bristol, and many, many friends in Albuquerque and Belen. BECKEL -- Charles Beckel, 81, died peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2009, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Jo; daughter, Amanda Armstrong, husband, Alan, and their children, Justin and Olivia; daughter, Sarah Lentz and her children, Michael and Desiree; youngest daughter, Andrea Mitchener, husband, David, and their children, Jacob and Emily; son, Timothy; sister, Joan Lourie; nephew, Sandy Lourie and family; and niece, Diane Benatar and family. Charles was born in Philadelphia, PA, in February of 1928. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Johns Hopkins University in 1954. He came to the University of New Mexico from Georgetown University in 1967 and retired in 1995. CAMPOS -- Jerry Thomas Campos, 56, born August 25, 1952 was called by his savior after a long illness on August 18, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his son Jeremy Richard Thomas Campos. He is survived by daughter, Felicia Campos; and granddaughters, Sienna and Sofia; another daughter, Jazzmine Campos; and his long time companion and friend and fiancee, Elizabeth Astorga, who will dearly miss him; one brother, Angelo Campos; and sisters, Pauline Giel, Yvonne and Yvette Caldera; and other extended family. LOPEZ -- Constance Aguayo Lopez, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died on August 18, 2009. She was born in Gallup, New Mexico in 1923, and graduated from Cathedral High School. After attending college in Santa Fe, she volunteered as a rivet inspector for Boeing in Seattle, Washington during World War II. She returned to Gallup, where she met her husband Claudio Lopez, who passed away in 1981. Her and her husband owned and operated the People's Market in Gallup's north-side that later became Milans Tavern and the Round-Up Saloon. She had two children, Irene Lopez and Joey Lopez. She is survived by her sister, Rose Cardona; grandson Quinn Lopez and his wife Julie Mowery; her daughter-in-law, Vicki Lopez; and two granddaughters, Meg and Kate. She enjoyed arguing, the Boston Red Sox and spending time with her family. A funeral will be held in Gallup, New Mexico on Friday, August 21, 2009, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Church with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. MARTINEZ -- Gilbert Martinez, USAF, Col. (Ret), 74, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Regina Martinez; daughters, Patti Martinez, Rose Benedict, Eve Juarez and husband, Victor and Cathy Martinez; seven grandchildren, Ryan Rust and wife, Jen, Brent Benedict, Shea Benedict, Alexa Juarez, Hannah Juarez, Jordyn Harney, and Kelsey Harney; sister, Josephine Rodriguez; and numerous other relatives and friends. Gil was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one brother. He was born on May 19, 1935 in Raton, NM to Joe and Mary Martinez. Gil grew up in California where he graduated from high school in Fresno. After high school he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served until his retirement. During his Air Force career he served as a navigator flying B-47's, B-52's and was the first Hispanic to fly the SR-71 Blackbird. He retired as Vice-Commander of Kirtland Air Force Base in 1979. Gil then went on to receive his Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico. He taught second graders in Albuquerque Public Schools for 13 years. Following his retirement from education, Gil served as AARP State President for New Mexico. He was responsible for the development of the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Library where he served on the board and spent countless hours establishing the library. Gil's greatest love was his family and supporting their many outside interests. He was a long-time member of Our Lady of Annunciation Parish, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. Gil was a devoted veteran to his country. He was a loving husband, father and "Popo" to his grandchildren. Gil will be deeply missed by all who knew him. MITCHELL -- John O. Mitchell US Air Force, Lt. Col. Retired, 84, died August 17, 2009. He is survived by his children Linda A. Mitchell of Albuquerque, John O. Mitchell II and wife Robin of Maryland and Robert T. Mitchell of Albuquerque. John is also survived by his granddaughters Heather, Kristen and Caitlyn Mitchell; sister Lorna June Carr; and sister-in-law Mary Jane Mitchell both of Pennsylvania and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Agnes; his parents Christ and Amy; and 7 siblings. Lt. Col. Mitchell served in the United States Air Force during WW II, Korea and Vietnam retiring in 1971. He was stationed in many places including West Germany, England, South Korea as well as several places in the United States and retired to Albuquerque, NM where he had served at both Sandia Base and Kirtland AFB. ORTEGA -- Clemente Ortega, 93, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Clemente was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was born in Montoya, NM on April 19, 1916 to Clemente and Paublita Ortega. He is survived by his loving wife, Adela Ortega, of 71 years; his daughter, Paulette Sanchez; sons, Barney, Clemente and wife, Lupe, Tom and wife, Bessie, Rick and wife, Diane; and sisters, Fidelia Ortega from Portland, OR, and Elizabeth Briggs from Cobbs, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diana May; and son, James Ortega. He has 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. Clemente graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1935 where he played varsity football. He lived through the Great Depression and experienced the Dust Bowl. Clemente worked for the Defense Department in California in 1942 and returned to New Mexico to complete work on the Conchas Dam. In 1945 he was drafted into the United States Army and he moved his family to Albuquerque in 1946 where he was a resident of the north valley for 60 years. In 1950 he went to work for Kirtland Air Force Base and had a 32 year career with the United States government. He was a man of incredible strength and endurance; he set a wonderful example of love, faith, and family. He was as big in spirit as he was in body and will live on in the hearts of his family forever. A rosary will be recited Friday, August 21, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with visitation starting one hour prior. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 22, 2009, 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper NW. Interment will take place Tuesday, August 25, 2009, 10:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. REED -- Shirley Jane Meyer Reed, 86, longtime resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. She was born on October 26, 1922 in Orange County, IA, to Richard Meyer and Margaret Haack. Shirley is survived by her children, Christie Jansen V. Havighorst of Munich, Germany, and Kent Reed and wife Elizabeth of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren, Carl Jansen V. Havighorst of Austin, TX, Sigrid Jansen V. Havighorst, Anna Jansen V. Havighorst both of Germany, and Jeffrey Reed and wife Julie of Gaithersburg, MD; great-grandchildren, Sydney Lauricella-Reed, Keegan Lauricella-Reed, Carter Reed and Anna Reed; sister-in-law, Jane Forry of Goldendale, WA; and nephew, Robert Tyler Reed and wife Terry of Florida. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Clay Reed, her parents, and her grandchildren, Dagmar Jansen and Robert Brian Reed. Shirley lived in Germany, Turkey, and many other places during her husband's career in the Air Force. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. Shirley was a volunteer and also the fifth president of the Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary. She also served on the board of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, worked with Indian children and refugees from Southeast Asia, and volunteered at the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology at UNM and at First Presbyterian Church for 20 years. Services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. STEVENS -- Mary Lee Stevens, 64, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, August 17, 2009. Mary was born Mary Lee Morris on August 26, 1944 in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. She was the fifth of six children born to George Downey Morris of Bland Canyon, New Mexico (born December 30, 1909) and Sarah Eavenson Morris of Seymour, Texas (born December 15, 1911). She spent most of her life as a resident of New Mexico, but lived in Montclair, California for seventeen years, until the retirement of herself and her husband in 2002. Mary was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. During her time here she touched so many lives and her loss will be felt deeply by people too numerous to list. Though she is gone, she will never be forgotten. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; eldest sister, Georgia Mae Bradshaw; older brother Jack Morris; and stepfather, Arthur Miller. Mary is survived by her husband of 44 years, Allen Lee Stevens of Albuquerque; children, Anna Walker of Albuquerque, Brian Stevens of North Charleston, SC, Mark Stevens of Albuquerque, and Heather Mixon of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Amanda Walker, Michael Floyd, Amber Walker, Kelcey Florkowski, Raymond Stevens, Carrie Stevens, Paul Floyd, Cyan Florkowski, and David Stevens; three sisters, Jessie Muller, Sarah Anderson, and Linda Moroney; family friends, Zeke Ybarra and Carol Peterson. The Service for Mary will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7100 Woodmount Ave. NW, Albuquerque, (on Rainbow, just north of Volcano Vista High School) with Bishop Brett Clark officiating. TYLER -- Bonnie Tyler, 90, a resident of Jemez Springs, passed Tuesday, August 18, 2009. She is survived by her son, Royce O. Tyler and wife, Pat of Jemez Springs, N.M.; grandson Martin Rainer Tyler and wife, Cher of Jemez Springs, N.M.; great-grandsons Timothy Xavier Tyler and Travis Jacobo Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband Odis C. Tyler. WILDENSTEIN -- Isaac Anthony Wildenstein, 18, of Edgewood, NM, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009. Isaac was born on September 10, 1990 in Albuquerque, NM to Warren L. and Veronica A. (Marquez) Wildenstein. Isaac graduated from Moriarty High in 2009. He was very involved in sports, football and basketball. He had a great love of life, for music, friends and family. Isaac had planned to travel the world, especially Austria and New York. He truly was a free spirit. He enjoyed street balling, hiking, camping and mountain climbing, diving at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa. He was truly loved by his three brothers, Gene, Nathan and Warren. Isaac was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Connie Wildenstein; great-grandparents, Ernest and Frances Wildenstein; and grandfather, Orlando Marquez. He is survived by his father, Warren L. Wildenstein; mother, Veronica A. Wildenstein, of Edgewood, NM; girlfriend, Justine Pearson; grandmother, Vincenta Nelson Marquez; brothers, Gene J. Wildenstein of Denver, CO, Nathan W. Wildenstein and his wife Cindy of Edgewood, NM, and Warren D. Wildenstein of Denver, CO; niece, Consuelo Wildenstein; nephew, Elijah Wildenstein; Godparents, Felipe and Terri Valdez of Edgewood, NM; aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. Family will receive friends at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, in Moriarty, NM on Thursday, August 20, 2009 from 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. There will be a rosary at Holy Child Catholic Church, in Tijeras, NM on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 7:00p.m. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, August 21, 2009, at 10:00a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras, NM, with Fr. Mark Granito officiating. Burial will follow at a family plot at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
