Memorial Services for Penni Sue Bourque, 45, of Canton, TX are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Canton with Father Selvaraj Sinnappan and Dr. Bruce Prescott officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton. She passed away December 17, 2008 in Canton, TX. Mrs. Bourque was born January 15, 1963 in Pueblo, CO to William Rex and Betena Naomi Fletcher Prescott. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Canton, TX, a member of the ARC (Associates of Respiratory Care), Ovarian Support Group at Baylor in Dallas, and Gilda's Club. She grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and graduated from Highland High School and TVI of Albuquerque. She worked at the University of New Mexico just shy of 15 years, and Children's Medical Center of Dallas, almost four years as a Respiratory Therapist. She also had a business selling satellite systems. She enjoyed rubber stamping and scrapbooking. Penni was preceded in death by father, William Rex Prescott. She is survived by husband David F. Bourque of Canton, TX; daughter Michelle Bourque of Canton, TX; step son Steven Bourque of Albuquerque, NM; mother Betena Prescott of Albuquerque, NM; brother and sister-in-law Dr. William Bruce and Kylene Prescott of Norman, OK; nephew William Doyle and wife Monica Prescott of Norman, OK; niece Candice Prescott and husband Josh Clark of Gulfport, MS; brother and sister-in-law Patric Milton and Linda Prescott of Albuquerque, NM; nephew Edward Prescott of Albuquerque, NM; great-nephew Richard Prescott of Albuquerque, NM; and niece Melissa Prescott of Albuquerque, NM.

CRAWLEY -- Rita Sue Crawley, age 64, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008. She was born on December 17, 1944 in Eldorado, AR to J.E. and Artie Pinckard. Sue was a former member of The Word of Faith Church in Albuquerque where she played the piano for services. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Surviving are her son, William Crawley Jr. and his wife, Kelli of Albuquerque; her grandchildren, B.J., Sarah, Rebekah and Mary; her mother, Artie Pinckard of Albuquerque; father of her son, William Crawley Sr. of Albuquerque; one sister, Beth Hensley and her husband, Don of Albuquerque and one brother, James Pinckard and his wife, Vionna of Las Cruces, NM; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, J.E. Pinckard in 1993. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. GUFFEY -- Mary S. Guffey, 75, passed away peacefully Friday, December 26, 2008 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 14, 1933 to James and Mary Bavester. Although she was born in Illinois, she soon sprouted her wings and traveled the world. Along the way she lived in Alaska, Germany, and Oklahoma before finally settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1969. Mary was a strong, outspoken, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all. She had a never ending thirst for knowledge that she used to help improve her community and was always the first to lend a helping hand. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bruce on December 2, 2008. She is survived by her one sister; two brothers; eight children; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mary was one of a kind and she will truly be missed by all who loved her. HANEY -- Roy "Bud" William Haney Jr., USA Retired Colonel, 93, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on December 24, 2008. Roy was born in York, Nebraska in 1915. Before joining the Army, Roy worked as a real estate agent and a tax agent. He entered active service in 1941. During his 33 years of military service, Colonel Haney served in the European Theater of Operations in World War II, in Korea, and in Vietnam. During WWII, Roy served as Aviation Officer in the 188th Field Artillery Battalion in the 3rd Armored Division. Prior to this, he served in the 6th Armored Division, including combat in the Invasion of Normandy. Colonel Haney's piloting duties included flying reconnaissance to evacuate wounded soldiers. In Korea, Colonel Haney served as Executive Officer of the 25th Observation Battalion, 25th Artillery. He was assigned to the Combat Operations Center 4, J-3, as Deputy Officer to the Aviation Division of the Military Assistance Command in Vietnam, where he served under General William Westmoreland to maintain operational control of Army aircraft and helicopters. Colonel Haney's stateside military service was equally distinguished to his combat record. After WWII, he was assigned Deputy Aviation Officer, Secretary of the Army at the Pentagon. In 1946, Colonel Haney served as the Army representative to the President's Air Coordinating Committee, which established policies for the utilization of civilian, commercial, and military air space as well as the development of air space navigation system aids, ground aids, safety and rescue policies, and air traffic control. These policies have been installed internationally in matters of aviation safety standards. Colonel Haney also served as International Aviation Officer for the Federal Aviation Agency and in the Flight Operations Branch Technical Division for the International Civil Aviation Organization. From 1963-7, Colonel Haney served as Operations Officer, Joint Task and Evaluations Task Force, U.S. Strike Command, McDill Air Force Base, a committee tasked with determining jurisdiction of radar and missions on the battlefield between the Army and the Air Force. During this period he also served as Project Officer, Joint Operations Analysis and Test Group, a committee determining the readiness of Army and Air Force war games and military exercises. These tests resulted in an alteration of the Army's and Air Force's letters of understanding regarding aircraft weight and configuration regulations and the integration of helicopters on the battle field. Colonel Haney's final assignment prior to retirement was Deputy Commander of the Aircraft Maintenance Brigade at Fort Hunter in Savannah, Georgia. In 1970, Colonel Haney and his wife, Margaret, retired to Albuquerque, where they lived for 35 years. After retiring, Roy and Margaret enjoyed traveling extensively in their motor-home, volunteering at church, fishing, playing cards, and constantly supporting their family and friends. Colonel Haney was a charter member of the Army Aviation Association and the World War II Memorial. Awards and decorations include the Air medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Bronze Star Medal, European Theater with 5 campaigns, the Good Conduct medal, the WWII Victory Medal, Occupation Medal, American Defense Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Master Army Aviation Badge, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Service Medal, and the Normandy Medal. In addition, Colonel Haney flew in the first helicopter demonstration in the south in Atlanta in 1949. He is survived by daughters, Dyan Clements, Shar Haley, Linda Adams and husband, Brian; son, Roy "Chip" Haney III; granddaughters Jessica Martinez, Jennifer Haley-Brown and husband, Dimitri; grandsons, Jared and Bryce Adams; and great-grandchildren, Nora and William Martinez. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Haney; his parents, Roy William Haney, Sr. and Clara Linstrom Haney; and his sister, Grace Haas and husband Charles Haas. Our dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, our advocate, our counselor, a man of strength, of humor, and of honor, will be deeply missed. HUDSON -- Kurt E. Hudson, beloved father, brother and friend, passed away unexpectedly December 26, 2008 at Lovelace Hospital. A longtime local resident, Kurt had many friends and family members in the area. He graduated from the Albuquerque Academy in 1972, and served as a U.S. Army photographer in Alabama before returning here. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a political science degree, and later supervised a chain of gas stations for Texaco and Chevron. At the time of his death, he was working with eTelecare in support of AT&T. Kurt was an accomplished photographer and a well-read student of life. He was a dedicated father, friend and brother with the proverbial heart of gold, and he committed small acts of kindness as a daily practice. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living at 2801 Louisiana Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM. A reception will follow in the church hall. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Swan Hudson and son, Connor Robert Hudson, both of Albuquerque; and his best friend for life, Jule Larsen. Other survivors include his mother, Janet Hudson, formerly of Albuquerque and now of Visalia, CA; three sisters, Lynn Hudson Kopola of Tampa, FL Kymry Hudson of Visalia, CA, and Tracy Hudson Cohen of Portland, OR; and three brothers, Brent Hudson of Portland, Ore., Jon Hudson of Albuquerque, and Neff Hudson of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Heber S. Hudson, a local child psychiatrist; and a brother, Scott Hudson.

JARAMILLO -- Ruby Palestine (Crowder) Jaramillo passed away December 27, 2008. She was born and raised in Wildersville, Tennessee. Ruby is survived by her husband, Edward Benjamin Jaramillo of two years and her children; Ralph (Mike) Crowder and wife, Evawn, Patty Ruth Phillips and husband, Terry, and former daughter-in-law Tracy Crowder, grandchildren, James, John, Willie, Arlene, Jude, Casey, Angel Dawn, Matthew Jaramillo and wife Nadia, Jacob Jaramillo and four great-grandchildren. Ruby is preceded in death by a son; John Carlton and her first husband, Ralph Crowder. Ruby was a resident of Albuquerque for 23 years and was a member of the Catholic Church. LUNARDI -- Catherine M. Lunardi, age 93, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Santino and Eufrosina Gambogi, in Pittsburgh, PA. Catherine moved to Davenport, IA in 1940 when she married John J. Lunardi. She worked at the Lunardi Market and Peterson Harned Von Maur Department store and retired in 1979. Catherine was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Davenport, IA. She moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1979 to live near her daughter, Donna Allison. She volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital and Anna Kaseman Hospital for many years. Catherine was a charter member at Bear Canyon Senior Center and became a greeter there, as well as helping with weekly bingo. She was a resident of Bear Canyon Estates for the last five years. While living in Albuquerque she became a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church. Catherine is survived by her children, one daughter, Donna Allison and one son, Jim Lunardi and wife, Tina of Milford, MA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Terri Allison, Tony Allison and wife, Cristine, and Tom Allison, all of Albuquerque, NM, Jason and Brian Lunardi, both from Milford, MA; one great-grandson, Bradley Graham of Albuquerque, NM; and one niece, Charlotte Morrison of Pittsburgh, PA. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Lunardi; her sister, Pauline Kubicsek; and son-in-law, John Allison. The Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. MARTIN -- Mary Gail Martin, 75, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 after a long illness. SAIZ -- Fidel A. Saiz, Jr. and Jeanette Gallegos Saiz, our beloved son and daughter, have been called home to our heavenly Father on December 26, 2008. Fidel was born 4-6-52 to Fidel, Sr. and Dora Saiz. Jeanette was born 8-7-60 to Simon, Sr. and Frances Gallegos. Fidel was preceded in death by his son Perfecto Saiz; and two brothers Johnny L. Saiz and Sailo J. Saiz. Jeanette was preceded in death by her earthly father Simon Sr.; and a nephew, Juan Diego Martinez. Fidel and Jeanette are survived by their three beautiful children, Johnny, Sara and Samantha whom they loved very much and were very proud of. Fidel is also survived by his parents Fidel, Sr. and Dora Saiz; three brothers Adolph, Raymond and Jerry Saiz; four sisters Alice, Dorothy, Diana, Frances and their families. Jeanette is survived by her mother Frances Gallegos; three sisters JoAnn, Lulu and Elaine; five brothers, Simon Jr., Lenny, Paul, David, Manuel and their families. Both had numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanette graduated in 1978 from BHS and moved to Albuquerque where she was employed by Bureau of Reclamation where she met and later married Fidel. Jeanette was currently employed by Comcast. Fidel graduated in 1970 from Clovis High and later earned his masters degree from New Mexico State and was currently employed by GE Healthcare out of El Paso, Texas. Fidel and Jeanette lived life to its fullest. Their greatest joy was raising their children and spending time with their family and friends. They left behind many happy memories. As Angels take flight, let us Thank God that we were once held by what has now become their wings. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise, NW. SENESCU -- Alexander Senescu, age 56, died suddenly Christmas Day. He was born in New York City and moved with his family to Albuquerque in 1964. He graduated from Highland High School and attended North Texas State University in Denton. Alex was a talented guitarist and had a life-long passion for music. He is survived by his mother, Betty Senescu; and brother, Alan Senescu, both of Albuquerque; and a sister, Cobey Senescu of Taos. He was predeceased in death by his father, Robert Alan Senescu. The family asks that Alex's many friends keep him alive in their hearts and memories. Friends are invited to gather for a celebration of his life on Friday, January 2, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m., at The Tennis Club of Albuquerque, 2901 Indian School Rd., N.E. SIEFERT -- John Douglas Siefert, a Las Vegas, New Mexico resident, died of a heart attack at Alta-Vista Regional Hospital, Friday, December 26, 2008. He was 66. John was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Tom A. and Ida C. Siefert on July 7, 1942. They named him John Douglas out of respect for a great WWII general. John was a resident of New Mexico all his life and graduated in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a member of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. He liked to drive big 18 wheel trucks and he grew up farming and ranching in New Mexico. He enjoyed exploring, camping, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom A. Seifert; mother, Ida C. Seifert; and brother, William S. Seifert. He is survived by one brother, Tom R. Seifert of Arboles, Colorado. A Graveside Service is planned at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM at Edith and Menaul on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. December 31, 2008.

THURMAN -- Glen Woodrow Thurman, DDS, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Jayne McDonald and husband, Randy; son, Fred Thurman and wife, Elsie; grandchildren, Griffin and Piper McDonald, Brady Thurman, Hunter Thurman and wife, Emily; and great-grandson, Mckinley Thurman. Glen was born on a farm in rural Nebraska, attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and lived in his home state until he joined the Navy and served during World War II in San Diego. After the war, a Navy buddy convinced Glen to come with him to New Mexico, where he met his wife, Sarah Jane Thurman. Glen made his home in Albuquerque, raised his family and had a successful dental practice for forty years. He was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he and Sarah were active for many years. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Singkanati; two grandchildren Erika Lin Prado and husband Onelio, Thomas Prasit Singkanati and wife Melinda; four great-grandchildren Teryk Singkanati, Serena Prado, Jonathan Prado and Armando Prado. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, at 11:00 a.m., 3906 19th Ave. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 with Pastor Si Budagher presiding over the Service.
