SANDOVAL -- Eduardo Antonio 'Pompo' Sandoval went home on Monday, October 15, 2007 at the age of 89. Mr. Sandoval was a member of the St. Therese Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II, an ex-prisoner of war, and a Bataan Death March survivor. He was also a member of the VFW. Mr. Sandoval was preceded in death by his grandson, Jerry F. Sandoval. He is survived by his daughter, caretaker, and his angel, Becky Sandoval; sons, Bobby Sandoval, Jerry Sandoval and wife, Rose, Roland Sandoval; brothers, Juan and Jesus; sisters, Lupe and Vickie; granddaughter and goddaughter, Heather and husband, Sam Salazar; grandchildren, Michael Sandoval and Berna Sandoval; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brandy, Jerriana, Mercedes and Alyssa. Visitation for Mr. Sandoval will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. Funeral Services for Mr. Sandoval will be held on Friday, October 19, 2007 also at St. Therese Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. SIMMONS -- Captain Barry Clayton Simmons Retired On October 12, 2007, Captain Barry C. Simmons went to be with the Lord. He passed away at home after a short illness. He was born on May 30, 1941, in Reidsville, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his father, Basil LaClaire Simmons. He is survived by his wife, Linda Baker Simmons; Mother, Victoria Maybell Simmons of Lexington, NC; Brothers, Kaye Simmons of Tazewell, VA; Dale Simmons of Lexington, NC: Sisters: Shirley Rummage and husband, Larry, also of Lexington, NC, and Donna Darrh and husband, Mike, of Mr. Airy, NC. He is also survived by his children, Barry C. Simmons, JR. and wife, Lori, of Albuquerque, NM; Randall Scott Simmons and wife, Angie, of Concrete, WA; Vicki Buck and husband, David, of Ferndale, WA; and Joel Simmons, of Ferndale, WA; Stepsons, Michael Baker of Raleigh, NC and Scott Baker and wife, Lauren of Los Angeles, CA as well as 12 grandchildren. Barry served his country in the United States Air Force. During his tenure with the Air Force, he served a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. He received numerous commendations and awards for the work he performed while serving his country in the nuclear energy facility in Sundance, WY. He was a graduate of the Air Force Officers Academy in San Antonio, TX and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Nuclear Engineering from Arizona State University. After his retirement, he was an entrepreneur in various businesses including, in his latter years, a professional engineering consulting firm. He also worked for the City of Albuquerque, NM, and the City of Arlington, WA as a civil engineer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Church Alive, located at 4601 Avocet Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will take place at Sante Fe National Cemetery, Friday Oct 19 at 10am. The family welcomes anyone who knew Barry to attend the Memorial Service. SOUZA -- John Alexander Souza, 84, a resident of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on October 14, 2007. Mr. Souza is survived by four children, Patricia Persinger and husband, Richard, Carol Ellwood and husband, Charles, Drusilla Souza, Alice VIgil and husband, Harold; one sister, Agnes Yuen; brothers, Benjamin Alvarez, Jimmy Alvarez and wife, Jenny, David Alvarez and Kanak Victorino; his fiancee, Alma Lee; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Souza was preceded in death by his wife Muriel of 49 years. Mr. Souza was born in Ewa Hawaii and was a resident of Albuquerque for about 8 years before going back to Hawaii and joined the Coast Guard/Merchant Marines serving in World War II. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday morning in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel at 8:30 a.m. with visitation after 8:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Military Honors. STONE -- Katyerae Stone, age 99, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2007 following a brief illness. She was born on October 31, 1907 in Durant, Oklahoma to the late William and Verna (Cole) Stone. After graduating from Durant High School, Katyerae attended Southeastern University, in Durant, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree. She taught school in Durant for 16 years prior to coming to Albuquerque in 1944. She taught first grade at Bandelier Elementary for 27 years, retiring in 1971 to care for her mother. It was said of Katyerae that she could teach a dead stump to read, a wonderful reference to her teaching skills and her discipline. Katyerae was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was involved with United Methodist Women, and a member of the Friendly Bible Class. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Sorority, and a member of Sigma Kappa Social Sorority. Katyerae will be fondly remembered by former students and special friends in Albuquerque. Those friends closest to her would often tell her how amazing she was for still living on her own at her age. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 18, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. STOUT -- Lucille Lois (Magee) Stout, age 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, October 14, 2007 at Ana Kaseman Hospice Center. Lucille was born February 16, 1924 to Tom and Lois (Fressle) Magee in Dunkerton, IA. She was the wife of Melvin W. Stout, for 52 years, who preceded her in death in 1997. Lucille, Melvin and their six children moved to Albuquerque from Iowa in 1957 to assume a teaching position at Menaul School. While in Albuquerque, Lucille pursued her LPN degree and then worked at various medical facilities and private duty assignments in New Mexico and Oklahoma. After her working years, Lucille and her husband retired to the Las Cruces area in 1990, where they worked with the Gideons International. She was also a member of the First Evangelical Free Church of Las Cruces. She is survived by four brothers, Raleigh Magee and Jed Magee of Iowa, David Magee of Missouri and Tom Magee of Colorado; her daughters, Milly Mastin of Ruidoso, NM, Eunice Leah Warren of San Mateo, CA, Bethel Stout of Wichita, KS, Harriet Watkins of Bernalillo, NM, and Ruth Lines of Cross Junction, VA; eight grandchildren, Todd Mastin, Troy Mastin, Josh Watkins, Daniel Watkins, Sarah Watkins, Chris Watkins, Leif Watkins and Jessica Lines; and four great-grandchildren, Ella Mastin, Wyatt Mastin, Jennah Watkins and Amelia Herrera. Lucille was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence David Stout in 1967; sister, Marty Meyerhoff; and brother, Jack Magee. TRUJILLO -- Pamala Trujillo was born April 2, 1959, and passed away October 10, 2007. She is survived by her husband, Tony Trujillo; her son, Cody; sisters, Rebecca Livingston, Lori Lovato, and Stanlyn Alberti; brothers, Michael Lovato, Allen Alberti and David Alberti; father, Stanley Alberti; stepfather, Julio Lovato; and niece, Nicole Livingston. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris and her sister, Roxanne. Pamala was a loving and wonderful wife and mother. She loved to write poetry, and had a poem inducted into the Library of Congress. She will be greatly missed. WEISS -- Patricia Sellers Born September 1, 1946 in Palo Alto CA, and Died October 13, 2007 in Albuquerque NM. She is survived by her parents, Thomas and Maxine Weiss of Alamosa, CO; her son, Paxton Stoker of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter, Mieka Stoker; and her granddaughter, Lilith Patricia Stoker of Belen NM. She was a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner recently retired from the University of New Mexico's Newborn ICU. She lead an amazing life and she brought great joy and strength into her family. We will miss her very much.

C DE BACA -- John T. C'De Baca, 64, died unexpectedly at home and is now in the arms of his savior Jesus. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was preceded in death by his mother and father John A. and Effie C'De Baca; and sister Dolores C'De Baca. He is survived by the mother of his children Molly C'De Baca; sons Gus C'De Baca and John Thomas C'De Baca; daughters Ann Marie Chavez, Christina C'De Baca and Julie C'De Baca; grandchildren Andrew Paul, Ariana Flora, Lauren Nicole, Rebecca, Shelly, Ashley, Jonathan, Justine, Joseph, and William "Billy"; and very special friend Judy Vernon.
