MILLER -- Shirley Miller, born January 9, 1934, passed away on September 30, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Shirley is survived by her five children, Thomas Curley of Edgewood, NM; Ginny Hedrick and her husband, Mike of Moriarty, NM; Willie Miller and his wife, Nancy of Albuquerque, NM; Greyson Miller and his wife, Heidi of Miami, FL; Frankie Miller and his wife, Kelly of Ft. Stewart, GA. She has 12 grandchildren, Aleasha, Stephenie, Rhonda, Sissy, Cassidy, Chance, Stephanie, Sara, Lauren, Daniel, Caitlin and Zane; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew, Isaiah, Amber, Jordan, Kyle, Hayley, D'Andre and Kayla. Shirley is also survived by her brother, Al Briley of Bernalillo, NM. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and her son, Rodney Paul Curley. Shirley will be greatly missed by her family and friends Thomas and Andy. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. ROMERO -- Simon Romero went home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2007 at the age of 69. He was born on November 4, 1937 to Manuel and Delfinia Romero. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Simon Julian Romero; his sister, Pauline Apodaca; and his brother, Nick Romero. He is survived by his son, Anthony Romero and his daughter, Ruby Romero; his four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his siblings, Felix Romero, Lucy Romero, Ida Perea, Gil Romero and wife, Eileen of Las Vegas, NV, Christine Boyd and husband, David of Placitas, NM, and Theresa Garcia and husband, Gus. He will be missed by all. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October, 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. with place to be announced at a later time. Burial will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Romero, Robert Romero, Juan Saiz, Leo Perea, Juanito Sanchez, Andrew Torrez, and Ruben Chavez. RUIZ -- Johnny Ray Ruiz passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 in Albuquerque at the age of 44. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Ruiz; and two brothers, Freddy and Peter Ruiz. Johnny is survived by his mother, Mary Ruiz; brothers, Antonio Ruiz and Billy Ruiz; nephews, Thomas Ruiz and Michael Saiz; two aunts, Frances Garcia and Ruth Romero; and many cousins and friends. Visitation for Johnny will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. SANCHEZ -- Flaviano Sanchez, 76, of San Antonio, NM, passed away in the loving care of his family on September 30, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Billie Lou Montgomery Sanchez; his children, Teresa Garcia and husband, Jerry, Martha Sanchez, Rebecca Spraggins and husband, Juan, Flaviano Sanchez III and wife, Debbie, and Elliot Scott Sanchez; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson, Jeremy Brian; three sisters, Ruth Jinzo, Eva Sweeney and husband, Ed, and Frances Pohl and husband, Charlie; and many nieces and nephews. Flaviano was preceded in death by his parents, Flaviano, Sr. and Dulcinea Sanchez; one grandson, Jeremy Gabbert; brothers, Julian Garcia, William James, and Cecil Sanchez; and sister, Atocha Hayes. Flaviano "June Bug" was a friend to everyone. His kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He served in the Korean Conflict proudly serving with the United States Air Force. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Child Parish in the San Antonio Mission Church at Hwy 14 North and San Antonio Dr on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 also at the San Antonio Mission interment following at the San Antonio Cemetery.

SANCHEZ -- Odelia Sanchez, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 30, 2007. Odelia was a very loving Mom, Grandma, Nana-O, sister, Aunt and friend. She always brought smiles to everyone she knew. She had a special gift to always make everyone she came in contact with feel loved and special. She loved Jesus with all her heart and soul. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, former Sheriff of Valencia County, Medardo Sanchez; her mother and father, Bensenslado and Valentina Sanchez; two sisters, Prescilla Duran and Ermenia Zamora. She is survived by her children, Joseph Sanchez and his wife, Nita; Evangeline Griego and her husband, Joe, Doris Maestas and her husband, Sam and Evelyn Sanchez; sister, Claudia Baca; brothers, Jesus Sanchez and Adelino Sanchez; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grand-children; three great-great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Valentine Torres. The family will receive friends at Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W. Reinken Ave., Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. WALLING -- Barbara Walling, 75, passed away in Albuquerque on September 27, 2007. Barbara was a career woman and employed by Sandia National Laboratories and New York Life Insurance Company. She was also a real estate agent. She was a beloved partner, mother, sister, aunt, colleague, and friend with a beautiful, energetic, kind, generous, loyal, and fun spirit that touched many lives. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and delighted in gardening, reading, and music. When diagnosed with cancer, she inspired all through her determination, courage, faith, and strength. She is survived by her partner, Howard Walling; daughters, Bobbi Rossi and husband, Jerry, of Raleigh, NC, and Vickie Saye and husband, Dennis, of Santa Fe, NM; step-children, Nikki Ryan of Albuquerque, Stephanie Vanderbrook of TN, and Steven Walling of Germany and their children; granddaughter, Crystal Hanson and her husband, Chris, of AL; great-grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Hanson; step-granddaughters, Alysa Smith and her husband, Greg, of Scottsdale, AZ and Romni Rossi and her daughter, Mia of Raleigh, NC; brother, Bill Epperson of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces, June Carney, Fran Eoff, Margaret Marquis of OK, and Berniece Klapchar of PA. ACIERNO -- Donna Carol Acierno, 47, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 12 years, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2007. Donna was born September 24, 1960 in West Islip, New York. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Vincent Acierno. Donna is survived by her parents, Leo and Martha Erskine of Rio Rancho; daughter, Danielle Acierno of West Babylon, NY; sister, Maureen Sawtelle of Ft. Riley, KS; one brother, Sgt. Leo Erskine, Jr. of Ft. Riley, KS; and grandmother, Mary Acierno of West Babylon, NY.
