TEMER -- MARY (JENNIE) Nana, For whatever reason, I've been thinking about you a lot. Nearly daily I commute on Bridge and pass by that Beautician sign that I always associated with going to your house during my youth. Memories float into my mind when I see that sign. Walking past the rose bushes, up a few stairs, and into the front door of your house, there are a number of small colored glasses, porcelain roses, rabbits, and elephants in front of a large mirror that faces the front door. The recliner still in the spot where Tata used to sit and watch Wheel and Fortune saying "Oh Vanna". The heater in the floor rattled and clanged under any heavy step through the dining room. Cupboards full of Vienna sausages and Chips Ahoy, a refrigerator full of Coca-Cola covered with anthromorphized chile magnets. The air conditioner running centrally out of one spot in the hallway where my mom told me she used to read Archie comics on hot days. The backyard was so huge when we were young. We used to have our Easter egg hunts out there and search for roly-polys and other insects under its large rocks. The house still stands in the same spot, quite changed without you there to fill it with all this life it once possessed. Just like there is a void in our lives where you used to be. We all miss you Nana. From Your Grandson, Angelo
