Obituary for ROMERO

ALFONSO E. Mr. Alfonso E. Romero, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 16, 2006 peacefully at home with his family by his side. Mr. Romero is the beloved father to Orlando Romero and wife, Debbie, Mariana Sandoval and husband, Albert, Lydia Barela and husband, Gene, Stanley Romero and wife, Elizabeth, Anita Lucero and fiance Rosendo Maldonado. Mr. Romero is also survived by his sister, Vangie Baca; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members. Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his wife, Catalina Romero and a daughter, Mary Ann. Mr. Romero was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. Visitation for Mr. Romero will be Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Military Honors by the U.S. Army. Pallbearers will be Larry Casaus, Angela Barela, Che Romero, Isiah Romero, Andres Lucero, Vincent Yanni. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Sandoval, Ross Maldonado, and Gene Barela.
