ARAGON -- Espiridion O. "Speedy" Aragon, age 85, a resident of Valencia, NM, passed away on July 29, 2006. He was a member of Valencia Catholic Church and a veteran of World War II. Espiridion was a lifetime Valencia County farmer and also drove a school bus for the Los Lunas Schools. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita O. Aragon, who passed away on January 1, 1996; his brothers, Tony Aragon, and Jamie Aragon. He is survived by his daughter, Vitalia A. Chavez and her husband, Roman of Belen; his four sons, Celestino Aragon and his wife, Loretta T. of Valencia, Ralph Aragon of Valencia, Frank Aragon and his wife, Nadine, Delfin Aragon and his wife, Ida of Los Lunas; four sisters, Pablita A. Aragon, Emelia Aragon, Virginia Aragon, and Eufemia Aragon; one brother, Jose Maria Aragon; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. All services will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Sandia Cristo Church beginning with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Valencia Catholic Cemetery. BALDONADO -- Rosie S. Baldonado, age 74, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 27, 2006. BANKS -- Virginia Banks, 89, died peacefully in her home after a long illness on Thursday, July 27, 2006. She was born on June 11, 1917. Mrs. Banks moved to Albuquerque with her family from Wagoner, OK in 1962. Ever since her move she had been an active and beloved member of the First Baptist Church in Albuquerque. Mrs. Banks is survived by her daughter, Deborah Banks; and son, Larry Banks, both of Albuquerque. BASTIAN -- George M. Bastian, 90, a good and faithful Servant of the Lord, loving husband, father, and grandfather was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, July 30, 2006. George is survived by his wife, Verena King Bastian whom he married in 1941. George is also survived by his three children, Tommy Bastian of Dallas, TX; Harry Bastian of Albuquerque; and Maryalyce Eubanks of Spartanburg, SC; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. George served as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and as a pastor of Baptist Churches in Texas, Arizona, Germany, and Japan for over 60 years. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl Elliott; sons, Jim Elliott and wife, Linda, Bill Elliott and wife, Mona, and Mark Elliott; daughter, Felicia Clark and husband, Robert; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family in Albuquerque and Portales. Mary Ann retired in 1982 from Mountain Bell after 32 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. HENNEBORN -- Alice Henneborn from New York now in New Mexico for the last 30 years, passed away on July 28, 2006 after a long illness and was in a local hospice when she departed. Alice is survived by her son, Harry Jr. and her daughter, Jean Alice, also now in New Mexico; there are also seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. HOOTEN -- Louise Cargile Hooten, 86, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, July 28, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital. She is survived by her son, Bill E. Hooten and his wife, Phyllis and their children, Jeff Hooten and his wife, Tammy of Albuquerque and Kay Hooten Ostrom and her husband, Dan of Saint Paul, MN; her great-grandchildren are Taryn, Jefferson, and Mackenzie Hooten and Andy and Noah Ostrom. Louise is also survived by one of her seven siblings, Florene Lambert and her son, Larry Adams both of Albuquerque and Jim Adams of Denver. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. J. Hooten in 1989. Mrs. Hooten was a prominent real estate salesperson, receiving many rewards in Roswell, Las Cruces, and Albuquerque where she was associated with Hooten/Stahl, Realtors. Before her husband's death, they spent many years traveling and camping with the Tumbleweeds, Good Sam Club. Her Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. LIRA -- RUDY JR. and WANDA Mr. Rudy Lira Jr. and Mrs. Wanda Lira residents of Albuquerque passed away as the result of an automobile accident on July 28, 2006, and are now in heaven with our Lord. Rudy is survived by his mother, Maria Lira; his seven loving children, Candice Lopez, Emerald Lira, Jade Lira, Elijah Lira, Josiah Lira, Ariana Lira and Raelyn Lira; two sisters, Myrna Lira and husband, Ceasar Andazola, Mayra Lira and husband, Leonel Cuellar; a nephew, Leonel Cuellar Jr.; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Rudy was preceded in death by his father, Rudy Lira Sr. Wanda is survived by her father, Bob Ware and his wife, Lorraine; her mother, Anna Ware; her three loving children, Jonathan Sanchez, Ariana Lira and Raelyn Lira; one brother, Bobby Ware Jr.; two sisters, Gracy Tenorio and Leslie Ware; her grandparents, Joe and Mercedes Turrietta and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. MARTINEZ -- Richard N. Martinez, 62, a resident of Albuquerque for 38 years, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006 unexpectedly in his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Dora Martinez; sons, Richard D. Martinez of Albuquerque and V. Paul Martinez and fiancee Michelle Murrey of Austin, TX; two brothers, Ben and Ray Martinez; five sisters, Naomi Greene, Mary Rush, Anavi Roman, Grace Mier and Carol Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends especially Ambrosio Ortega. Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Anastasia Martinez; brother, Walter Martinez; and sister, Kathleen Robinson. He was born in Tierra Amarilla, NM. Mr. Martinez worked for many years at SED Laboratories and Tri-Core Laboratories. He loved working with children and playing his guitar. Mr. Martinez will be deeply missed by all his friends and family. PERRIN -- NORMAN ELWOOD It is with deep sorrow that the Perrin family announces the passing of Norman Elwood Perrin on July 24, 2006. He was born in Richmond, VA, October 22, 1931, and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1962. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Young Perrin, who he was married to for 47 years. Norman is survived by his four devoted children: sons, Rocky and wife, Kim, Jimmy, Jeff, daughter, Mary and husband, David Young; grandchildren, Erik Perrin, David, and Kaitlin Young, all of Albuquerque. He was a diesel mechanic for Mack Trucks in Albuquerque, NM where he later became self employed with his son, Jimmy. Family was very important to him and he helped to support them throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing in NM, had a passion for gardening, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Lowe, Dr. David Hartson, and the supportive staff at Presbyterian Hospital for their loving care. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Aspen Funeral Alternatives, 1935 Juan Tabo NE, on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. (323-9000).
