CHAMBERLAIN -- Carl R. "Bob" Chamberlain, of Bosque Farms, went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2006, after a long illness. Bob was born in Los Angeles, CA on August 29, 1922. His parents, Charles and Beth Chamberlain; sister, Marjorie Long; and niece, Sharon Phelps preceded him in death. Bob will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Mary, of nearly 61 years; daughters, Janice Grieve of Belen, Carla Clayton and husband, Mark of Pahrump, NV; grandchildren, Marty Clayton and wife, Morgan of Bosque Farms and Marla Clayton of Las Vegas, NV; and great-granddaughters, Regan and Lauren of Bosque Farms. He is also survived by brother, Don Chamberlain and wife, Lucille of Laton, CA; nieces, Kathy Taylor and husband, Milton, Kathy Rohde, Louise Knight, and Rhonda Enright and husband, Pat; nephew, Dennis Chamberlain and wife, Mary Ann; and other family members and numerous friends. Bob was well known for his sense of humor, his love of telling stories, his patriotism, and his faith in God. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Throughout the 1940s, Bob and his family ran cattle in the Sierra National Forest of California; Chamberlain Lake was named for him and his family. After selling the ranch in 1949, Bob and his family moved to Riverdale, CA where he started in the dairy business. They moved to Bosque Farms in 1959 where he continued in the dairy business until 1971. He became the volunteer Fire Chief of Bosque Farms in 1964, a position he held for ten years. After retiring from the dairy business, he and Mary built Chamberlain's Pool; he also became Captain of the Citizen's Patrol (a volunteer citizen's group he helped organize that gave their time and resources to help provide security for the Bosque Farms area). In 1974 Bob was instrumental in the incorporation of Bosque Farms and became the first Chief of Police, working diligently without pay for the first six months; he retired from that position in December 1984. Bob was a great hunter, and enjoyed fishing the lakes of New Mexico, and ocean fishing with his family and friends at Crescent City, CA and in Alaska. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Bosque Farms on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens Thursday, July 27, 2006. CHAPMAN -- George T. Chapman, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, passed away on July 24, 2006. George is survived by his wife, Virginia D. Chapman, whom he married in 1950; one son, Thomas W. Chapman of Albuquerque; two daughters, Christina Tolendino of Los Lunas, NM and Kari Wier of Grand Canyon, AZ; one sister, Virginia A. Chapman of Albuquerque; a brother, William E. Chapman of Denver, CO; grandsons, Erik and Greg Tolendino; granddaughters, Jami Broecher of Kingman, AZ and Christina Wier of Grand Canyon, AZ; two great-granddaughters, Haidyn and Sierra Broecher of Kingman, AZ. George attended Denver University and UNM. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 34 years, retiring in 1985. George was an early member of the Albuquerque Z Car Club and he dearly loved that auto! He was also a member of the Model Railroad Club for a number of years. CLAFFEY -- Dora Claffey passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, July 26, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Cindee Chadwick of Albuquerque, NM; her son, Charles Decker of Longview, TX; her granddaughter, Selena Odegaard and husband, Kerby of Edgewood, NM; two great-grandsons, Cruz Lucero of Edgewood, NM and Andrew Sena of Albuquerque, NM. DEMAREE -- Rowena I. Demaree, 85, born in Indiana on August 14, 1920 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Monday, July 24, 2006. She is survived by her son, Larry Demaree and wife, Sylvia of Glendale, AZ; daughters, Kay Martinelli and Richard Knittle and Belinda Demaree and Bob Patten of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Kelly Baldwin and husband, Jeff, Wende Biddle and husband, Mike, Joanna Perry and husband, George, and Krista Demaree; grandsons, Wayne Martin, AJ Demaree and wife, Lisa; great-grandchildren, Whitney and Joshua Baldwin, M'Lynne and Cade Biddle, Theresa and Aidan Perry, Teryn and Jacey Demaree; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. An infant son and daughter; son, Terry Demaree; foster sister, Edna Mary Libecap; brother, Everett Heiser and wife, Hazel; and her parents, Walter and Elva Heiser, preceded Rowena in death. Rowena's parents were the owners of Speedway Park Race Track on South Eubank, which the original members of NMMRA helped to build. After the death of her parents, from 1950 through 1981, Rowena enjoyed many wonderful years as the owner of Speedway Park on South Eubank. She spent many years as a legal secretary and was an Avon representative for 22 years. Rowena will be remembered as a hard working individual up until her death. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary of her many friends and family and will be missed greatly. GRESHAM -- Thomas Wayne Gresham, 70, born April 8, 1936 in Mt. Park, OK, passed away July 26, 2006 at home in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, T.A. and Lurlene Gresham; brother, Joe Gresham; and sister, Evelyn Patton. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nelma Gresham; three sons, Danny and wife, Audry of Ridgecrest, CA, Monty and wife, Misty of Albuquerque, Brian and wife, Maria Martinez of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Sheldon and wife, Erica, Patricia, Kyle, Kiva, Keaton, Aaron, Shane, Brandon, Brianna; and three great-granddaughters, Bailey, Faith, and Ashley; sisters, Juanita Click and husband, Bill, Bernadene Haywood; and brother-in-law, Arville Patton. HERRERA -- Richard L. S. Herrera, 63, passed away in the loving presence of his family on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 after a brief hospitalization. He is survived by his wife, Diana L. Herrera; his son, Brian Herrera with partner, Michael Quanci; and his daughter, Saudi Herrera with boyfriend, Kim Mansfield. Richard is also survived by his mother, Nellie Herrera of Santa Fe; mother-in-law, Ida Ehrman of Cedar Crest; sisters, Lorraine Herrera of Santa Fe and Emily Pacheco and brother-in-law, Richard of Santa Fe; brother, Roy Herrera and sister-in-law, Anna Mae of Pecos; brother, Paul Herrera and sister-in-law, Cora of Santa Fe; as well as many adored nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Evangelista "Tita" Trujillo; as well as his father, Max Herrera; and father-in-law, Edward F. Ehrman. Born and raised in Las Vegas, NM, Richard made the East Mountains his home for the last 35 years. He leaves behind a vast family of friends from across the globe, as well as many treasured friends and colleagues at Albuquerque's Technical Vocational Institute; Bechtel Corporation in Jubail, Saudi Arabia; Northern New Mexico Community College; and the Rio Rancho Public School District. LYNCH -- Alma Lucile Hughes Lynch died peacefully in Belen, NM, on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the age of 92. Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, D. M. "Spud" Lynch; her sisters, Mildred Myers, Marie Sanderson and husband, Ray; brother, Thomas C. Hughes and wife, Trudy Davis; and daughter-in-law, Sydni Waddle Lynch. She is survived by her son, Edward Lynch and wife, Jeanne Lynch of Peralta; daughter, Patricia Waltner and husband, Jim of Los Chavez; grandchildren, Jill Fisher and husband, Mark of San Diego, CA, Gale Lynch of Rochester, NY, Scott Wiater and wife, Erin of Elk Ridge, MD, and Jennifer Wiater and husband, Shawn Healy of Galena, IL; and four great-grandchildren, Justin Wiater, Kendall and Logan Fisher, and Spencer Lynch Koehl. Alma was born in Dublin, TX, on February 12, 1914, to Fred and Celia Tatum Hughes. She moved to Belen at the age of five when Fred began his career working on the Santa Fe Railroad. Alma graduated from Belen High School, class of 1933, and married her husband, Spud, in Clovis, NM, on March 1, 1940. She became a mother and a homemaker living in Clovis, Tucumcari, Santa Fe and Albuquerque before she and Spud retired to Belen in 1980. Alma was active in the Presbyterian Church throughout her life, serving as a deacon, a volunteer at the Storehouse, and in various other capacities. Like her mother before her, Alma was a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Belen Sewing Club. She enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to the weekly dinners and celebrations with her special friends. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Belen, 85 Manzano Expressway, followed by a celebration of her life at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, 6 Casitas Del Rio, Belen, NM. MARTINEZ -- Matias Martinez, 93, of Albuquerque, and formerly of Leadville, CO, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 in an Albuquerque nursing home. He was born April 17, 1913 in Llano, NM to the late Gavino and Alicia Martinez. Matias began his working career in Leadville where he worked for American Smelting and Refining Company for numerous years. He opened the Grill Cafe in 1965 with Robert Martinez, Sr. They jointly owned and operated it for several years. He retired from New Jersey Zinc Company in Gilman, CO after 26 years of service in the mine and in other positions within the company. Matias was liked by everyone and never got involved in controversy. Matias was a very gentle and kind person who was devoted to his family, friends, the Catholic Church and his God. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, Matias said, "I want everyone to remember how we spent time together and how we always took care of each other. I also want them to remember I was the best person I could be. I always want people to say that I never spoke badly about anyone and I want them to remember that I did the best I could in my life. I worked hard, I took care of my family and loved my dear Lord, my God, my Father with all my heart." He was preceded in death by the love of his life and companion of 22 years, Cidelia Gomez-Gurule on May 8, 2006; his two sisters, Maria Inez Martinez and Porfiria Martinez; his brother, Manuel Martinez; his two half-brothers, Juan Jose Arguello and Genaro Arguello. Matias is survived by his son, Manuel Martinez of Leadville, CO; his daughter, Annablle Vigil and husband, John of Broomfield, CO; his step-children, Ruby Danbury and Nancy Romero, both of Albuquerque, LeRoy Gomez and wife, Diane of Ft. Collins, CO, Delfino Gomez of Wheatridge, CO, Marie Brodie of Scottsdale, AZ, and Thomas Gomez and wife, Kathleen of Arvada, CO; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. MORRISON -- William Eugene (Gene) Morrison, 79, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, currently residing in Houston, TX with his daughter and son-in-law, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Sunday, July 23, 2006. He joined his parents, John Calvin Morrison and Mildred Morrison; parents-in-law, Rev. L.M. Walker and Gladys Walker; son, Ricky Morrison; sister, Patricia Haulman; and brother, Jack Morrison who have all gone before him to be with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Aileen Morrison, married now this past February for 60 years; his sister; Rachel Kelsey; his brother-in-law and wife, Rev. Larry and Carmen Walker; his daughter, Cathy Jean Bonner; son-in-law, Arthur Lee Bonner; and his three grandchildren, Waylon Gene Bonner, Arthur Wayne Bonner, and Cheyenne Jean Bonner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and countless friends. Gene was born in Parsons, KS on August 28, 1926. He moved with his family to New Mexico in 1940 and was a graduate of Albuquerque High School where he played football, baseball, and basketball. He was a member of Fruit Avenue Baptist Church where he met the love of his life, "Ruthie". After serving in the United States Air Force in WWII, they were married on February 3, 1946 at Fruit Avenue Baptist Church by Ruth's father, Rev. L.M. Walker. Gene received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from the University of New Mexico where he also played baseball. He later worked on his Doctoral degree in Austin at the University of Texas. In Gene's 32 year career at Albuquerque Public Schools as teacher, counselor, coach, principal, and administrator, he also enjoyed working as a Western Athletic Conference college football official for over 20 years. After his retirement in 1981, he was ordained as a minister at Hoffmantown Baptist Church, where he had been a member for many years. He served at Hoffmantown Baptist Church, Northwest Mesa Baptist Church, Grace Brethren Church and Christian School in Taos, and Hope Christian Schools in Albuquerque. During his career, he made many life long friendships. Gene was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered best by his dedication to his wife and family, golfing, bowling, and playing softball with his friends, countless fishing trips to his cabin in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico, and his unshakable faith in God. Gene was involved with many social, civic, and professional organizations including the National Education Association, Rotary Club, Elks Club, Juvenile Probation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, American Association of Christian Counselors, Association For Religious and Value Issues in Counseling, Association of Christian Marriage Counselors, American Association for School Administrators, National Association of Pupil-Personnel Administrators, and American Personnel and Guidance Association. He was elected to Phi Delta Kappa, National Education Honors Fraternity, and received the Outstanding Leadership Award by Albuquerque Public School Principals. The family thanks everyone for their love, support, and tender care during Gene's 79 years of life. He loved life, and valued his wife, son and daughter, family, and friends as wonderful gifts from God. NICKOLDS -- Connie F. Nickolds passed away July 24, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 79 years old and is survived by her loving husband, Edward C. Nickolds of Albuquerque. Connie and Ed just had their thirty-third wedding anniversary on July 21. Other surviving family members include her three children, Henry C. Simpson of Knoxville, TN, Frances J. Guiles of Escondido, CA, and Edward V. Simpson of San Francisco, CA; her two sisters, Melba J. Young of Reno, NV, and M. Dolores Gutierres of Albuquerque; and her aunt, Vera Padilla of Albuquerque. She was predeceased by her parents, Josephine M. Chacon and Vicente A. Otero. TRUJILLO -- George T. Trujillo, age 67, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, was called to his eternal home by the Lord our Savior, Tuesday, July 25, 2006. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara, Rio Rancho, NM. Final viewing will be Saturday morning from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. WHITE -- Charles V. White, (1916-2006), 90, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2006 at his home in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Florence White. Charles and Florence were originally from New York but relocated to Albuquerque in 1956. A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Charles married Florence on October 30, 1942, soon after he completed U.S. Army Officers' Candidate School and was commissioned as an officer in the Corps of Engineers. During World War II, his unit, the 654th Engineers participated in the Normandy Campaign, supporting allied forces during their advance on Germany. He later was stationed in Japan where he developed a deep respect for the country and its people. Following World War II, Charles and Florence settled in Bennington, Vermont where Charles worked as a lithographer. During the Korean War, Charles was back in the Army preparing maps in Washington, D.C. Soon after returning to civilian life, Charles and Florence settled in Albuquerque where they established a business selling hand-crafted Indian jewelry from coast-to-coast. Upon retirement in 1980, Charles and Florence enjoyed traveling to far away places. While in Albuquerque, they enjoyed bird watching and gardening in their home with its view of the Sandia Mountains and downtown Albuquerque. Charles was an avid opera enthusiast and a frequent participant in activities at the Los Volcanes Senior Citizen Center. He was also a generous contributor to local charities. A sensitive and unpretentious man with a wonderful sense of humor, Charles will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Plans are being made for internment to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends are invited to a gathering in celebration of Charles White's life, to be held at the Los Volcanes Senior Center at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2006.

WILLIS -- Nadeen M. Willis died peacefully in her home Tuesday, July 25, 2006. She is survived by her brother, Don Condreay and wife, Dorothy, of Schertz, TX; sister, Bette Cadwallader, of Manchester, NH; sister-in-law, Anne Condreay, of Columbus, NE; step-son, Robert E. Willis, Jr. and family, of Roswell; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Mabel Condreay; her brother, Glenn Condreay, all of Columbus, NE; husband, Justin Fritz, who passed away in 1988; and husband, Robert E. Willis, who died in December 2002. Nadeen was born August 27, 1917, in Grant, NE. She was raised in Grand Island, NE, where she married Justin Fritz. She later married Robert E. Willis and settled in the Tanoan Community in Albuquerque enjoying golf and bridge. Nadeen was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. Services will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 4:30 p.m. Ennichment will take place at the St. John Episcopal Columbarium, 318 Silver Ave. SW, Albuquerque, NM. WRIGHT -- Josephine Wilson, 86, was born in New York City on October 6, 1919 and died at home on July 22, 2006 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archibald George Wilson and Edythe Broqua Wilson, and by her first husband, Kenneth Thomas Stumpf of New York. Mrs. Wright was a longtime member of the Cathedral Church of St. John in Albuquerque where she served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister and Layreader. She was also on the staff of the Cathedral for many years. Survivors include her husband, H. Clifton Wright of the family home; cousins, Lois Steele of New Windsor, NY, Virginia Bajgert of CO, Lawrence MacNary of TN, Dr. Lois Musmann and husband, Klaus of Foster City, CA and Richard A. Steele and wife, Joyce of Norfolk, VA. She is also survived by a niece from her first marriage, Valerie Ignatowitz; and a great- niece, Lara Holzkamp both of New York; as well as her special friend, Corrine Duran of Albuquerque. On her husband's side, Mrs. Wright is survived by a brother-in-law, Joseph R. Kula and his daughters, Anne Kula Jasewicz and Patricia Kula Beidl all of New York; nephews and nieces, David W. Moe and Louise Moe DePlante of CT and Stephen S. Papania, Anne Papania McCallum, J. Charles Papania and Clifton Andrew Papania of Texas. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. John, 318 Silver, SW on Friday, July 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with the Very Reverend John B. Haverland and the Reverend Canon Dr. Adams Lovekin officiating. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorials in the name of Josephine Wright may be made to the Endowment Fund of the Cathedral Church of St. John, PO Box 1246, Albuquerque, NM 87103 or to the American Cancer Society.
