BAROS -- Lottie 77 went to be with our Lord June 23, 2006 after a short illness. Lottie was born Sept. 13, 1928 in Lemitar, NM to Tranquilino and Annie Padilla. At the age of 17 she moved to Winslow AZ and worked as a Harvey Girl at the Harvey House. She moved back to Albuq. with her son Tony after her husband passed away unexpectedly. She worked as the window decorator for Kress and McClellens dept stores in downtown for many years. She met John in 1959 and they were married in the old Sacred Heart Parish. Lottie later worked and retired from APS in the cafeteria at Adobe Acres Elem. Lottie was devoted to her 4 boys and their sports, she would make her homemade "bean burritos" for those weekly games at Babe Ruth and South Valley Little league. Lottie was blessed to have eight grandchildren and four great-granddaughters and many adopted grandkids. She is survived by her spouse, John of 47 years; sons, Anthony Orosco and spouse, Dolores, Danny, Mike and spouse, Gloria, Richard and spouse, Patricia; brothers, Johnnie and Flora Padilla of Albuq., Charlie and Laura Padilla of Socorro NM, Aris and Ruby Padilla of Albuq. A private viewing from 1-3 p.m. will be at Riverside Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. Mass of Christian burial, Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. St. Anne church Fr. John Touranguea officiating. Burial will be in Lemitar NM . Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Allen Jr., Jeffrey, James and Adam Baros, Jason Orosco and Anthony Sandoval. HAGGAR -- Michael J. Haggar, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret., age 60, died on June 22, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Dana Kay Haggar of Albuquerque; son, Jason Haggar and wife, Heidi, of Snoqualmie, Washington; daughter, Carrie McCready of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Isabelle and Quinn Haggar; mother, Nan Haggar of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Lindsey Haggar of St. Peters, Missouri; brother, Kelly Haggar of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mike was born in Hobbs, NM. He graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) in 1965. Mike completed his undergraduate degree at LSU and Masters in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. After entering military service in 1967, he served a wide range of assignments. Mike served as a platoon leader and pilot in Vietnam, company commander, and Battalion, Brigade, and Division operations officer. He concluded his military career in 1987. Mike then founded Systems Management Consultants specializing in information technology solutions for the medical community. He was involved in the NMMI Alumni Association, serving as President and Vice President. Mike enjoyed numerous hobbies including Harley trips with Kay and trail rides with his friends and classmates from NMMI. Mike will be missed by his friends and family and remembered as a loving husband, father, and patriot. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. JOHNSON -- Theodore William Johnson, age 60, beloved father, son, and brother, was called to his heavenly home by the Lord, Thursday, June 22, 2006. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Johnson. Theodore is survived by his loving children, Michael Johnson and wife, Dana, Ted Johnson, and Nancy Grable; his precious grandchildren, Joe Johnson, Casandra and Nicole Grable, and Kaylie Johnson; his mother, Genevive Johnson; sisters, Patricia Miller, Maureen Robertson, and Lynn Montoya; and other beloved family members and friends. Theodore loved his family very much; and he will be greatly missed. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. JUANCHO -- Sarah A. Mrs. Sarah A. Juancho, 56, a resident of Isleta, NM passed away on June 23, 2006. Mrs. Juancho is survived by her husband of thirty years, Joseph; her daughter, Christine Juancho and Randy Lujan; her son, Joseph Anthony Juancho and wife, Veronica; her mother, Mrs. Josephine Apodaca; four sisters, Nancy Loar, Angela Apodaca, Susan Smith and husband, Robert and Alice Apodaca; four brothers, Lonnie Apodaca and wife, Rita, Benny Apodaca and wife, Jeanette, Albert Apodaca and Arthur Apodaca; six grandchildren, Desiree, Samantha, Brandon, Adrianna, Joey and Brittney; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Juancho was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia; her father in law, Seferino Juancho; and her father, Curzito Apodaca. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, 2006, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the family home, 24 Tribal Rd. 70, Isleta, NM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m., Father Hilaire Valiquette, O.F.M., presider. KUHN -- Clara Elizabeth (Gober) Kuhn, 87, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2006. Clara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Fred Kuhn. She was born in Albuquerque on November 25, 1918 and later retired from a civil service career with Kirtland Air Force Base. Clara was a longtime member of the Albuquerque Assistance League, a volunteer organization through which she was able to serve the needs of Albuquerque's less fortunate citizens. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her quick wit, sense of humor and love of dogs. We will love and miss you always. MALDONADO -- Christopher "Chris" Maldonado, born July 14, 1960, passed away on June 22, 2006. He is survived by his mother, Inez Salas; his step-father, George Salas; four brothers, Manuel Maldonado, David Maldonado, Mark Salas, Gerald Salas; and his sister-in-law, Roberta Salas; three daughters, Christon Candelaria and husband, Vicente Candelaria, Monica Griego and husband, Samuel Griego Sr., and Valerie Maldonado; three nephews, Mark Jr., Zach, and Gerald Jr.; three nieces, Vasnessa, Jessica, and Racheal; five grandchildren, Leona, Alyssa, Angelina, Samuel Jr., and Sariah. NIX -- Lesley Marie Nix, age 34, of Albuquerque, passed away after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family and loved ones, Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Lesley was born and raised in Albuquerque, graduating in 1989 from Cibola High School. She worked for the past 15 years at Wal-Mart on Coors Bypass. Lesley adored her niece and nephews, her cat, Tigger, and her whole family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, always putting other's needs in front of her own. She is survived by her mother, Glenda Newman; father, Frank Nix; brother, Kevin Nix and his wife, Laura; grandmother, Jimmie Lois Southern; niece, Paige; nephews, Chris and Cameron, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. ORTIZ -- Catalina B. Ortiz, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2006 in Albuquerque. She was born on June 27, 1925 in Hanover, NM and was raised in Silver City. As a young lady she worked on the railroad in Santa Rita, NM. Catalina was a devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and was a Guadalupana. Catalina was a great cook and her food will be greatly missed. She was employed by Albuquerque Public Schools and worked in the cafeteria at Lincoln Junior High School. She later opened a restaurant at the Paloma Bar. She then opened the Coronado Cafe in the 1960's. When her husband established the Blue Ribbon Bar in Estancia, she ran the restaurant there for many years as well. Catalina was the center of a huge and loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matias and Petra Bencomo; her loving husband of almost 50 years, Raymond D. Ortiz; her brothers, Inez Espinoza, Daniel Espinoza, Felipe Bencomo, Anastacio Bencomo, Augustine Bencomo; her sister, Julia Bencomo; her son, Tommy Ortiz; grandchildren, Martin and Catalina Placencio and Emeralda Martinez. Catalina is survived by her children, Aurora Acosta and husband, Erasmo, Rito Placencio and wife, Angie, Ruben Placencio, Odelia Anna Ortiz-Lozano and husband, William, Yolanda Ortiz-Sanchez and Johnny Ray Ortiz. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, Pete Espinoza, Basilio Bencomo and Aurora Moya. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Placencio, Sandie Griego, Pamela Owens, Tanya Placencio, Anthony Raymond Kotsios, Erasmo Acosta, Jr., Maria Acosta, Natalie Sanchez, and Ashley Ortiz-Darrow. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; 48 Godchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, compadres, and friends. A Rosary will be held at Garcia Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, June 26, 2006. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2006, also at St. Francis Xavier Parish, time to be announced. Christian Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Raymond Kotsios, Erasmo Acosta, Jr., Raul Gonzalez, Antonio Varay, Phillip Ortiz, Jesus Villanueva, Robert Bencomo, and David Lee Glass. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rito Placencio, Ruben Placencio, and Johnny Ray Ortiz. WALKER -- Estilene Walker, 95, an Albuquerque resident for over 50 years, passed away on June 24, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Walker. Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughters, Audrey Ellen Johnson and husband, Allen of Chinook, WA, Doris Elaine Jelso and husband, Don of Albuquerque; sons, Eugene Walker of Quartzsite, AZ, Merrill Walker and wife, Jeanne of Hazel Green, AL and Duane Walker and wife, Mary Ann of Tijeras, NM; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. She was born on September 1, 1910 to Mary Eliza Dobbs and Hugh Alexander Cowan in Cumberland County, IL. Mrs. Walker was a long-time member of Addah Chapter # 5, Order of Eastern Star.
