ARAGON -- Helen. Feisty local business woman, Helen Aragon, 92, former owner of Helen's Hallmark, passed away on June 2, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one grandson, and her two sisters. She is survived by her loving husband, Ambrose; her brother, Ray Kerr and his wife, Marge; her daughter, Patsy Swisher; three step-sons, Gary and his wife, Sharon, Gerald and his wife, Bonnie and Gilbert Aragon; and three step-daughters, Sharon Muchmore, Sylvia Lucero and her husband, JP and Margaret Dewitt and her husband, Jeff. Helen had 16 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers and the Presbyterian Hospice Unit. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary - Lomas Blvd. Chapel with Pastor Brian Winter, officiating. CARPENTER -- LARRY DEWAYNE "Assuredly, I say to you, Today you will be with ME in Paradise." Luke 23:43 Larry DeWayne Carpenter went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Larry is survived by his wife of 29 years, Junetta Carpenter; two sons, DeWayne F. Carpenter and wife, Misty, Jason Carpenter and wife, Juanita; grandchildren, Dominique, Desmond, and Mikayla; mother, Doris Carpenter and father, DeWayne M. Carpenter; sisters, Kathy Davis and Charlotte Mathis; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Larry was born on November 04, 1955 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. He was actively involved in youth sports and loved working with children. Larry was a member of Legacy Church and loved celebrating the Lord. His passion for the Gospel led him to minister to all he met. He touched and blessed everyone, and his desire was to lead people to know his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. CUMMINGS -- Jean Louise Cummings, 78, passed away on June 3, 2006, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family after a long illness. Grandpa, your Queen is coming home to you. Jean was preceded in death by her son, John, and husband, Bill. She was an active member of All Saints Lutheran Church. Jean is survived by her children, 11 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Thank you Suzanne and Cori, for loving and caring for Jeannie. You made her last days so peaceful and full of love. DUDLEY -- Shella S. age 43 of Albuquerque, passed away Friday June 2, 2006. Shella was born January 30, 1963 in Fort Smith, AR., the daughter of Lewis and Marilyn Spencer. She married Doug Dudley on June 7, 1986 in Casper, Wyoming and they have made Albuquerque their home since 1989. Surviving are her husband of 20 years, Doug; her four year old daughter, Maria; her sister, Sherian Spencer of San Diego, CA; her brother, Scott, and his wife, Amy Spencer of Winston-Salem, N.C.; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and two uncles. Shella was a devoted wife and mother, and an educator for the Albuquerque Public Schools. As a life long learner and teacher who inspired children, colleagues and friends, she was recognized by the local community with various educational and community awards. Shella was a member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, and recently elected Vice-President of Alpha Delta Kappa Educational Sorority. Her other interests included fly fishing, camping, reading and cycling. Shella was a passionate New York Yankees fan. Celebration of her life will be held Wednesday June 7, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church 314 Lead SW, with her Pastor David Snyman, officiating, Interment Sunset Memorial Park. ENDEAN -- Willis Endean, age 85, died peacefully at his home on May 31, 2006 with his loving family present. Willis was born in Port Huron, MI on August 9, 1920. He married Janet Miers on June 1, 1941 in Kahoka, MO. In 1947 they moved to Albuquerque from Bellwood, IL where Willis took a job as a gas pipefitter. In 1959 he completed construction of the current family home in the Hyder Park Neighborhood. In 1965 he purchased Jay Grear, Inc. and formed Endean Brothers Plastics with his brother, William Endean Jr., and became the first "Plastics" distributor in New Mexico. Upon his retirement in 1985, he transferred the family business to his daughter, Anita, who now owns the Endean Sign Company. One of his other accomplishments is he helped organize the construction of the first Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in the early 1950s. Willis was a kind, mild tempered, gentle man who had many passions in life; his Christian faith, reading, tennis, golf, sailing, computer surfing, genealogy, model sailboats, his children, and mostly, his wife of 65 years, Janet. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, Anne Hardwick Willis and William Endean Sr.; his brother, John Fredrick Endean; and his only son, David Willis Endean. He is survived by Janet, his wife; his brother, William Jr.; daughters, Leslie Endean Singh and husband, Dr. Jagdev Singh, Laurie Stanton Theiler and husband, Jim Theiler, Elisabeth Endean and husband, Terry Booze, Anita Endean, Rachelle Endean and husband, Greg Hawrylyshyn. Willis was also blessed with his grandchildren: Jesse William, Tammy, Lindsay, Carrie, Elena, Lisa, Sofya; and great-grandaughter, Alexiss. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday June 10, 2006 at the residence of Anita Endean, 340 Milagro Lane SW, Albuquerque 87105. His love will live on through his friends, colleagues, and family.

GRIEGO -- Donald Lee Griego, 41, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father, David S. Griego of Los Lunas, NM. Donald is survived by his wife, Felicia of Los Lunas; daughter, Brittani of Houston, Tx.; mother, Mary of Los Lunas; brother, David of Los Alamos; sisters Barbara and husband Mark James of Visalia, Ca., Patricia and husband, Leonard Valerio of Espanola; Rosanne and husband, David Kincaid of Los Lunas; and nephews and nieces, Chris and Jennifer of Santa Anna, Ca., Sean and Jessica of Los Lunas, and Michael and Amanda of Espanola. HAGINS -- Willie C. "Big Bill" Hagins, 54, devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many, died suddenly on Friday, June 2, 2006. Bill played Center for the University of NM Lobos from 1974-1976 under coaches Norm Ellenberger, Dennis Hodges and John Whisnet. He loved and lived the game of basketball as well as being an avid fan of all sports. Bill was a fisherman who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He dedicated much of his life to working with troubled youth as a counselor at the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention Center. He inspired and reached the minds and hearts of many in his 23 year career. After retirement, Bill continued touching the lives of young people in his work at Eldorado High School. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Dorothy; three children, Cecil Hagins and fiance, Regina, of Albuquerque, Nakia Hagins of Albuquerque and Conrad Jackson and fiance Beth, of Los Angeles, CA; grandmother, Edna Baldwin; sisters, Patricia Hagins of New York City, Paulette Hagins, and Doreleain Haggins of New Jersey, and Bea Williams, of New York City; brother, Marvin Hagins of New Jersey. He is the grandfather of three, Syeid, Dominique and Jade. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Childress of Arizona, Pat Pallone of California, Jim Pallone and Fran Toensing from Albuquerque and too many aunts, uncles and cousins to name. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, and father, Ulysses Hagins and brother, Marshall. Bill had a way of making all who entered his world feel very special with words and actions of genuine kindness. A big man with an even bigger heart. Bill will be missed by all who had the good fortune to have known and loved him. Services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. HINDI-GREEN -- Monira Hindi-Green, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006. Monira was born in Duran, NM to William and Rasmie Hindi on May 29, 1928. She was preceded in death by her three children, Mary Elizabeth, Melheim, and Norbert; her husband, John; her parents; and her brother, Basheer Hindi. Monira is survived by her brothers, Moneer, Baheej, Azeez, Shawkeet, and Ficel; two sisters, Fareeza Belcher and Lila Hindi; sister-in-law, Jody Hindi; her faithful companion, Oreo; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. She retired from the U. S. Postal Service, many years at the bulk mail center in Denver and then here in Albuquerque. She was a volunteer at the Bear Canyon Senior Center, at Kaseman Hospital and at the Women's Hospital. After her college graduation she taught elementary school at Bernalillo and Our Lady of Fatima. Monira's husband was a Chief Master Sgt. and the family was stationed in Germany, Denver, Atlanta, and Albuquerque; she enjoyed living in all these cities. She enjoyed passing the time at the casino and lunching with her friends and family. Monira had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed. MARTINDELL -- Jane Eubanks Martindell 77, loving, devoted and precious mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Tuesday, June 30th. She shared a full and fruitful life working, skiing, horseback riding, playing tennis, piloting hot air balloons and enjoying New Mexico sunsets. Most of all, Jane enjoyed time with her devoted and caring family, friends, and Old Town co-workers. Her blessed spirit lives on in her family, Kenneth and Irene Eubanks; their children and grand children; and in Don, Dee, Steve, Becky, Rich, Kris, Robert, Tina, Jenifer, Diego and Riley. She loved you all. a love that lives on in all of you. .and special thanks to her dedicated and sensitive health care providers for their commitment and tireless support. MASCARENAS -- Beatrice C. Mascarenas, 55, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died Thursday, June 1, 2006. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert Mascarenas; parents, Juan and Mary Vigil; brothers, Joe Vigil and wife, Carmen, Paul Vigil and wife, Margaret and John Vigil and wife, Wanda, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Theresa Pena and husband, David of Springer, NM, Elizabeth Holt and husband, Roy of Clovis, NM; father-in-law, Alfonso Mascarenas; sisters-in-law, Juanita Mascarenas, Carmen Mascarenas, and Connie Mascarenas, all of Albuquerque; niece and God-daughter, Denise Maldonado; and many other dear nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mascarenas worked at Desert Ridge Middle School. She also worked at the UNM Center for Disabilities and the College of Nursing. She was a parishioner at Risen Savior Catholic Community. MASEGEE -- James A. The Lord called James A. "Jim" Massegee home on June 2, 2006. Jim was born in French, New Mexico to B.Q. and Mary Ashlock Massegee and was a resident of New Mexico for most of his life. He was an ordained deacon in the Baptist Church, which he was very proud of. Jim was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was also proud to have served his country in World War II in the United States Marine Corps from 1942-1945. He worked and retired from the New Mexico State Highway Department, where he was a Heavy Duty Mechanic Technician. Jim is survived by his wife of 60 year, Roberta Crowder Massegee; three children, Jummy Massegee and wife, Julie, Donna and husband James Bernard and Brenda Massegee; one sister, Millie Workman and one brother, Ben and wife, Annalee Massegee. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Los Lunas, 914 Los Lentes Rd., SE. A reception will follow the services at the church. YATES -- Mary K. Yates, born January 20, 1919, Foremost Alberta Canada, parents Phillip Bachtold and Carrie Cerchman, was born on her family's wheat farm in Canada and moved to Las Vegas, New Mexico at the age of five in a covered wagon. Mary was the oldest of eleven children. Shortly after World War II, she met and married George W. Yates, a veteran who served in the See-Bee's. During World War II, Mary worked at the Los Alamos National Labs in New Mexico. George Yates worked in heavy construction and traveled with his family to many different countries building roads, bridges and dams. George and his family spent nine years in Thailand working on their intra-structure. George and Mary moved their family to Albuquerque, New Mexico and remained there until his death in 1993. Mary Yates continued to live in Albuquerque until moving to Lafayette, Georgia in 2005 to live with her oldest daughter, Karen S. Miller. Mary is survived by her children, Larry Ray Reamsnyder of Clovis, NM, Karen Sue Miller of Lafayette, GA and Diana K. Bakas of Albuquerque, NM. Mary is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and three siblings. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
