She is survived by her husband, Rudy; one daughter, Judy Castillo; and two grandchildren; two brothers, Firdencio Perez and wife, Mary Lou, Ray Perez and wife Annie; mother, Nancy Chavez; also many extended family members. CHAVEZ -- Frank. Mr. Frank J. Chavez, 70, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on January 28, 2005. Mr. Chavez is the beloved husband to Mrs. Virginia Chavez. They were married for 48 years. Mr. Chavez is also survived by his daughters, Dianne Sisneros and husband, Pete; Terry Anaya and husband, Gene; and Francine J. Chavez; one sister, Rose Smith and husband, David, of El Cajon, Ca.; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Britni, Brian, BreAna, Peter II, Nicholas and Estevan; many brothers and sisters; nieces; nephews; cousins; and racing fans. Mr. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the US Navy. Frank, a 31 year veteran of stock car racing, carried the #31 for his entire racing career he also loved his dog Bonarue. A visitation for Mr. Chavez will be Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. by Trinie and Valerio Lucero. A final visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Daniel Balizan. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with full Military Honors. Pallbearers will be, Aaron Diehl, Brian Diehl, Pete Sisneros, Steve Gallegos, Larry Romero and Eloy Romero. CROSBY -- Judy Crosby, 64, of Albuquerque for over 50 years, died Sunday, January 30, 2005. She is survived by her sons, David Crosby and wife Connie of Albuquerque, and Christopher Crosby of Oklahoma City, OK; two grandsons, Cody and Clay Crosby of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Cheyenne Crosby of McAlester, OK; sister, Nancy Perez and husband Wayman of Joplin, MI; brothers, William E. Blythe and wife Hortensia of Albuquerque, Phillip Blythe and wife Viola of Los Lunas, Joseph Barry Blythe and wife Marcia of Los Lunas, and Ernest Blythe and wife Marian of Durango, CO; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Crosby, and her brother, Joseph K. Blythe, Jr. As a business owner, Judy was legendary within the world of Indian Arts and Crafts. She loved her family and lived for her time in Red River, NM. She was a dynamic woman with an enormous giving heart. She never said no to anyone in need. FLESHMAN -- Suzanne Fleshman, 68, a resident of Albuquerque for 15 years, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2005. She is in the arms and hearts of family, survived by her daughters, Samantha Wiles and husband, Timothy of Albuquerque, Pamala Winemiller and husband, Kerry of Albuquerque; grandson, Kerry Jr. of Albuquerque; and granddaughter Brianna Beth on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Fleshman; and her daughter, Tammy Sue. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. FOY -- Erma E. Foy, 76, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2005. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Roblyer and husband, Randy, of El Reno, OK, Sharon L. Pollock and husband, Craig, of Los Alamitos, CA; sons, Steven D. Foy and wife, Adela, of Upton, CA, David Foy of El Reno, OK; sisters, Margie Best and Edith Shinn, both of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Foy was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Foy, in 1992. Erma was born and raised in Albuquerque and lived here until the last four years, where she resided in El Reno, OK. HASTINGS -- Ruth Calvert Hastings, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 27, 2005. Ruth was born September 16, 1925 in Griffin, GA. She was a resident of Albuquerque since 1957. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Gerald F. Hastings; her four daughters, Jackie Latini and friend, Bill Grommes, Georgia Bose and husband, Tommy, Geraldine Stephenson and husband, Burt, Robbin Hulette and husband, Steve, all of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Erik Bose and wife, Debbie, Mistie Micklevitz and husband, David, and Patrick Hulette, of Albuquerque, Courtney Hemenway and husband, Jeffrey of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandchildren, Koby Bose, Vance Micklevitz, Olivia, Sydney, Justin, and Austin Hemenway; sister, Lucille Steger and husband, Murray; sister-in-law, Betty Calvert of Griffin, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Houston and Cora Lee Calvert; her brother, C. O. "Buck" Calvert and 1st wife Evelyn; and her nephew, William Calvert. Ruth's pleasure in life came from her Savior, her family, and her garden. She attended Evangelical Christian Center. Ruth was a loving and caring wife. She was a dedicated mother, always dependable, unselfish, and fun-loving. Ruth loved being with her grandkids and they loved being with her. Holidays for her family will never be the same without the fantastic meals she lovingly prepared. Ruth also enjoyed working out in the yard, watering and tending to her flower and vegetable garden. Her life will be celebrated in our hearts for all the remainder of our days. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." MASCARENAS -- Celina S. Mascarenas passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2005. She was a resident of Albuquerque for twenty three years, after moving here from Grants, NM. She is survived by her husband, Jacob Mascarenas and six children; Alice Molina, Espanola, NM, Rosalia Baca and Joe, Chimayo, NM, Mary Sisneros and Ronald, Albuquerque, NM, Leroy Mascarenas and Eulalia, Grants, NM, Johnny Mascarenas and Carol, Round Mountain, NV, and Jacob Mascarenas, Jr. and Celina of Grants, NM; one sister; Carmelita Gallegos and Max, Denver, CO.; and twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren. MCDERMOTT -- Loretta McDermott of Albuquerque, went home to the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2005. She was 78 years old. She is survived by her two sons, Kit and Stacy McDermott; her sister, Marcia Rotello; Six grandchildren, Dan, Scott, David, Eslie, Jesse, and Alyn. She has three great grandchildren, Karl, Jake, and Alex and there is one more expected in April. Mom was preceded by the death of our Dad two years ago. She was a complex woman of stubborn convictions, abiding compassion, and steady faith. She spoke her mind and lived her values whether you agreed with her or not. She defended the defenseless and marginalized in our world, but was never superior about it. Jesus was her Lord, Friend, and Hope. Her family was her joy. She was a person of limited means who saw generosity as a privilege and duty. Mom battled fear her entire life, could laugh at its strange demands, and was honest about her frequent inability to overcome its dictatorial demands on her life at times. She could be both gentle and tough, but never mean. We will miss her dearly, but will always be celebrated in our families. METCALF -- Naomi Fern Metcalf, 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 after a long illness. Naomi was born near Connersville, IN, but was a longtime resident of Albuquerque and worked for over 30 years at the VA Hospital here in the capacity, first, as an RN, and, later, as a nurse practitioner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Thomas Metcalf; by her sister, Mildred Riebsomer; and by her brother, James H. Tate. She is survived by a son, Henry Carter Metcalf of Casa Grande, AZ; a daughter, Marilyn Olaechea and her husband, Juan Luis of Albuquerque; grandson, John Olaechea and his wife, Amy, of Henderson, NV; granddaughters, Christina Olaechea amd Alma Olaechea, both of Albuquerque; nephew, James L. Riebsomer and his wife, Sherrie of Santa Fe, NM; and some very special friends in Albuquerque, Carrolltown, PA, and Ignacio, CO. Naomi was deeply loved by her family and friends. RAY -- Hubert E. "Pat" Ray, 89 passed away peacefully with his family at his side on January 28, 2005. Pat was born to William and Mattie Ray on July 26, 1915 in Howard County, MO. He is survived by one sister, Mary Lou Perkins of Columbia, MO; and one brother in law, Alfred Lee, of Hallsville, MO; his children, Dale Ray and wife, Angela, Eddie Ray and wife, Barbara, all of Albuquerque, NM, and Wanda Asbury of Columbia, MO. Mr. Ray had eight grandchildren, Melissa, Danny, Patricia, Traci, Shawna, Brian, Mattie, and Megan; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Ray moved to Albuquerque in the early 50s where he worked for Imperial Laundry and Rutledge Linen Supply until retiring in the late 70s. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. SIEVERT -- Lois H. Sievert, 87, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went to be with her beloved Gail on Thursday, January 27, 2005. She is survived by her sons, Tom Sievert and wife, Deborah, Fred Sievert and wife, Bobbie, Joe Sievert, and Paul Sievert and wife, Debra; grandsons, Eugene Sievert, Devin Sievert, Jason Sievert and wife, Katie; granddaughters, Corbin Sievert and Kelsey Sievert; brothers, Howard Hill and wife, Ruth, Chester Hill, Fred Hill and wife, Betty, and Kenneth Hill and wife, Kathy; and sister, Maxine Hopping. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gail Alton Sievert; grandson, Duane Collette; brother, Don Hill; sister, Alta Mae Jensen; parents, Joe Benjamin and Mae Hill; and daughter-in-law, Velma Trujillo-Sievert. Lois was born in Venus, NM in 1917. She graduated from Albuquerque High and then attended Business School. She married Gail Sievert on September 6, 1940. She was a member of Causemopolitan Club, and "Coffee Club" and loved playing bridge. She was a beloved mother, loving grandmother, and supportive sister. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. The family appreciated the support and care given to them by Presbyterian Hospice.
