ARCHIBECK -- Mary Louise Archibeck, 89, one of the pioneers of Albuquerque and long time resident, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004, surrounded by her children. Mary Louise Geers was born November 10, 1914 in Glendale, OH, the youngest child in a large German family. She is survived by her four children, Bill Archibeck, Philip Archibeck, Lewis Archibeck, Marilyn Romero and their families, including 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Conrad, preceded her in death. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Blvd. NE. CHAVEZ -- Annie M. Chavez, age 44, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2004. A lifetime resident of Albuquerque, she was preceded in death by her father, Frank Chavez and brother, Patricio Chavez. Annie is survived by her soul mate, Albino Trujillo; mother, Elenore Chavez; brothers, Ernest Chavez and Frank Chavez; sisters, Mary Helen Vigil, Genevieve Paiz, and Dorothy Guerra; other family and friends who loved and will miss her. DREHER -- James Paul "Chief" Dreher. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, James Paul Dreher, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2004, surrounded by his family. A retired Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy, known as "Chief," Mr. Dreher resided in Rio Rancho, NM, and is survived by his wife, Amalia "Ema" Archibeque-Dreher; his children, Victor, Debbie, Donna, Corinna, Katie, Kathleen, Crystal, Colleen, and Timothy; grandchildren, Nicholas, Kristin, Janine, Jessica, Anthony, Jose, and Joshua; father, Chester; brothers, Chester, Frank, John, and Artie; sisters, Rose, and Jessica; and countless members of a large and loving extended family. Known throughout the community as "Uncle Jim," Mr. Dreher will be remembered for his love of children, charitable spirit, enthusiasm for local athletics, and support of community events. GONZALES -- Cristobal (Chirs) E. Gonzales, 15, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 27, 2004. Cristobal is survived by his loving family: father, Richard P. Gonzales and girlfriend, Maggie Chavez; mother, Lucy Carrillo and husband, Peter; two brothers, Richard Gonzales and Estevan Barreras; sister, Clarissa Gonzales; stepsister, Jasmine Carrillo; stepbrother, Demetrius Carrillo; grandmother, Helen Garcia; step-grandfather, Bernie Carrillo; Godparents, Leroy and Gloria Lopez; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Cristobal was a member of the Catholic Church. He was a student at Cibola High School, a member of the ROTC Marines at Cibola High School, lifeguard at West Mesa Swimming Pool and he loved animals. GRADY -- Jack Grady, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette A. Grady of Albuquerque; sons, Cecil Jack Grady and wife, Sandra of Illinois and Michael O. Grady and wife, Judith of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Brian Grady and Kelley Grady; one great-grandchild, Zachery Grady; and brother, Al Grady and wife, Virginia of Colorado. Mr. Grady was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister. He worked for Mountain Bell for 34 years. Mr. Grady was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite and Ballut Abyad Shrine. HAMPTON -- Glenn Hampton, 52, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly at home following complications from lung cancer on Monday, September 27, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ellen Hampton; and his daughter, Rachel Hampton, both of Albuquerque; parents, Bob and Faye Hampton of Kirtland, NM; brothers, Bill Hampton of Kirtland, NM and Fred Hampton and wife, Lu Lu of Blanco, NM; sister, Kaye Wheeler of Manti, UT; brother-in-laws, Eugene Buck of Espanola, and Fred Buck and wife Lynn, of Round Rock, TX; 14 nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and -nephews. Glenn was the oldest child, born on December 21, 1951 in Ponca City, OK. He came with his parents to the Farmington area in 1952, where he attended and graduated from Kirtland Central Schools. As a truck driver and owner operator, Glenn had many friends across New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma. He was well known for his kind and loving heart, his generosity, and friendship. In addition to his immediate family, Glenn will be greatly missed by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. HARDING -- Robert Edward Harding, Jr., Esq., 77, a resident of Albuquerque, died August 26, 2004 at home. He is survived by his wife, Iola W. Harding; son, Robert E. Harding, III; daughters, Roberta M. Harding, Esq. and Olivia V. Harding; grandchildren, Robert and Anne Harding; sisters, Geraldine and Florine of New York City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Olivia; sister, Bernice; and an infant son, Vincent. He was a retired National Labor Relations Board Attorney, Federal Mediations and Conciliation Service and the American Arbitration Association Panel of Arbitrators. He is a member of the Kentucky and New Mexico Bar Associations. He was also past President and member of the legal Counsel for the NAACP. For many years, he was adjunct professor in Afro-American Studies at UNM. Having experienced the cutting edge of segregation and "Jim Crow" laws, Robert devoted his retirement years to helping others combat discrimination and disparate treatment in many areas of life. HILDERBRAND -- Mary Rose Hilderbrand, 55, of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2004. Her mother, Mary Hernandez, preceded her in death. Ron, her loving husband of twenty-five years, survives her. She is also survived by five children and their spouses: Molly and Steve Trujillo, Tawnia and Rob Sher, Holly and Russell Holloman, Jerry and Lisa Hilderbrand, and Larry and Tammy Lewis. She has seventeen grandchildren, Valarie, Robert, Stephanie, Steven, Melanie, Jeremy, Kandyce, Mason, Amanda, Veronica, Robert, Andrea, Jamie, Jill, Heather, Jennifer, and Tyler. Mary Rose also left behind many other family members and friends. Mary Rose was a wonderful homemaker, cook, mother, and grandmother who adored her family. JONES -- Margaret E. Jones, 75, and, her daughter, Barbra J. Jaramillo, 55, passed on Sunday, September 26, 2004, in a tragic car accident just North of Albuquerque. Both are long time residents of the Albuquerque community. Margaret is survived by two sons; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Barbra is survived by husband, Jerry Jaramillo; two brothers; three children; and two grandchildren. KELLEY -- William T. Kelley, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, died on Wednesday, September 29, 2004. He is survived by his sons, William T. Kelley, Jr. M.D. of Goldendale, WA, Michael B. Kelley and wife, Barbara of Vienna, VA, Joseph P. Kelley and wife, Dorothy of Albuquerque; daughter, Mary F. Kelley of Englewood, CO; sister-in-law, Sister Margaret Mahoney, O.S.F. of Stella Niagara, NY; daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Kelley of Fullerton, CA; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Kelley was a veteran of World War II. He had also been an employee of the Atomic Energy Commission having worked on the Manhattan Project, which brought him to New Mexico. He was a devoted husband to Mildred A. Kelley (Nee Mahoney), his wife of 56 years who preceded him in death. Bill was a loving father and grandfather who led his family with great spirituality and love. LAWRENCE -- Robert Harley Patrick Lawrence, 77, joined his favorite dancing partner and beloved wife, Aurora, on the evening of September 24, 2004 after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Dubuque, IA on July 28, 1927, Robert stepped off the Santa Fe Chief onto the platform of the Alvarado Hotel train station, looked in wonder at the mountains and more turquoise horizon than the young soldier from the Midwest had ever seen. He fell into a lifelong enchantment with the land and with a striking young lady he met at the USO, and subsequently married. Robert had a long and honorable career in journalism, working for the Albuquerque Journal and Tribune, Presses Associated and United, and as a stringer for Time Magazine. Before his retirement, Robert was a member of the faculty of the University of New Mexico where he taught photojournalism. His daughter, Deirdre, predeceased him in April, 2004. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Gorman of Connecticut and Barbara and the Rev. Alan Littlejohn of Texas; granddaughter, Jennifer of Atlanta, GA; four brothers, Jim, Jerry, and Ray of Iowa and John of Texas; and many other relatives and valued Friends of Bill W. A Memorial Mass will be officiated by Father Robert Keller, OP, on Thursday, September 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Aquinas Newman Center, 1805 Lomas Blvd. NE, on the UNM campus. LOPEZ -- Anthony Lopez, beloved father, son, and husband, left this earth Sunday, Sunday, September 26, 2004, to join the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Lopez; sons, Jared Medley and Messiese Lopez; daughter, Toni Lopez; mother, Mary Pyburn and husband, Eddie, all of Albuquerque; and father, Miguel Sanchez of Espanola, NM. Anthony was a very loving man who gave of himself freely; he will be remembered for his loving nature and great sense of humor. MIERA -- Josefita Chavez Miera, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, died peacefully at home at age 89 on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 following an extended illness. Josefita Miera is survived by son, Ronaldo Antonio Miera; daughter, Rita Ann Miera; son, Albert Joseph Miera and wife, Mary Lou Ramirez Miera; granddaughter, Angela Miera; great-grandchildren, Angelique Ulibarri, Andres Ulibarri; and granddaughter, Stephanie Miera and great-grandson, Marcus William Baca; many nephews and nieces; many grand-nephews and -nieces; and many great-grand-nephews and -nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Alberto J.N. Miera; and her daughter, Ernestina Consuelo Miera. Mrs. Miera was born Viviana Josefa Chavez in San Antonio, NM; she was the daughter of Solomon Chavez and Guadalupe Miera. Mrs. Miera attended schools in San Antonio and was married in 1930. MURRAY -- Thomas Robert "Bobby" Murray was born on May 9, 1982 and passed away on September 22, 2004. "Bobby" loved hot rods and helped to build them for a living. Thomas was a sprint car driver and member of the New Mexico Motor Racing Association. At his last race on August 28, 2004, "Bobby," driving his number "11" sprint car, finished 4th in his heat race and finished 15th in the "A" Main. As of September 5, 2004, "Bobby" was 31st in NMMRA points standings out of 44 cars. This was "Bobby's" second year of racing sprint cars. In his rookie year, he finished 22nd out of 41 cars and drivers. "Bobby" will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He is loved by us all. He is survived by his father and pit man, Tom; mother, Beatrice; siblings, Della, Brenda, Jessica, and James "Bradley;" in-laws, Nick and Danny; nephews, Nicky, Jimmy, Joey, Zachary, and Nathan; niece, Marissa; and many, many other family, friends, and fellow drivers. "Bobby" would have wanted as many family, friends, and others from the New Mexico communities to support their local race tracks and drivers. ROBINSON -- Roland H. "Curly" Robinson, 82, resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Monday, September 27, 2004. Born September 9, 1922 in Texas, he was the son of Howard and Mary (Ward) Robinson. RONEY -- Earl Roney, who had been missing for nearly two months, was found in the Manzano Mountains on September 25th, 2004. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah he was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM. He was very devoted to his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Roney. ROSENBURG -- Walter R. Rosenburg, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 26, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean E. Rosenburg of Albuquerque; son, Thomas R. Rosenburg of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Janet J. Rosenburg of San Diego, CA; and many other family members in Texas. He was employed by Sandia National Labs for 40 years before retiring in 1986. Mr. Rosenburg served his country during WWII as a US Marine in the South Pacific. He entered the Marines as a private and was honorably discharged as a Captain and then served in the US Marine Reserves. Mr. Rosenburg was an avid wood carver and member of NM Wood Carvers. He taught classes in wood carving for many years. Mr. Rosenburg was also an outdoorsman and fisherman, particularly stream fly-fishing. Services will be held Thursday, September 30, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will take place at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM. SANCHEZ -- Ezequiel ( Zeke ) Sanchez, 68 a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 28, 2004. Ezequiel is the beloved husband to Lupe Adams for 27 years. Ezequiel is also survived by one son, Joe Montano and wife, Kathy; six daughters, Dorothy Chavez and husband, Leo, Denise Purcella and husband, Albert, Terry Lynn Aragon, Judy Cole and husband, Richard, Debra Sanchez, and Anna Garcia; two sisters, Victoria Ann Jojola and Angelina Allen; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his Godchildren, Angel Chavez and Sammy Montano Jr.; a special niece, Rose Chavez and husband, Jimmie; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. Ezequiel was preceded in death by his mother, Dometilia; and his son, Randy. Ezequiel was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion. A visitation for Ezequiel will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Robb Sisneros. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Joe Vigil. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery will Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Carlos, Sanchez, John Paul Trujillo, Brian Trujillo Jr., Wayne Zeke Aragon, Robert Cole, and Matthew Cole. UTTERBACK -- Helen Elnora Utterback, 100, of Albuquerque, formerly of Hobbs, NM, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004. A graveside service will be held at Prairie Haven Cemetery on Friday in Hobbs. Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope. Mrs. Utterback was born in Bixby, OK on January 22, 1904. She married Edgar Utterback in 1922 in Bixby and later had two sons, Norris and James Utterback. The Utterbacks moved to Monument, NM in 1943, where Mr. Utterback was the superintendent for Warren Petroleum Corporation. They later moved to Hobbs. Mrs. Utterback was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hobbs, the Black Gold Grandmothers' Club, the Masonic Widow Club, and was a Pink Lady at the local hospital. She was also active in china painting in Hobbs for a number of years. She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Frances Utterback, of Hobbs; five grandchildren, Jim Utterback of Helena, MT, Sue Wernet of Fort Worth, TX, Bruce Utterback of Virginia Beach, VA, Brit Utterback of Coloma, CA, and Tracy Utterback of Albuquerque, NM; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Utterback was preceded in death by her husband and two sons. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Snyder, Hobbs, NM 88240.

WALLACE -- Sally V. Wallace, 88, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1985, and coming to New Mexico from San Diego, CA, passed a way on Monday, September 27, 2004. Sally was born September 4, 1916, the daughter of Erineo and Constancia Gutierrez Valdez, in Springer, NM. She had been a Statistics Clerk for the General Dynamics Corporation before retiring. Sally was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the Meadowlark Senior Center. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred R. "Wally" Wallace in 1997. She is survived by one brother, "adopted" brother, Ernest Garcia Valdez, of Rio Rancho; and one sister-in-law, Amelia "Molly" Wallace of Albuquerque; numerous nieces; one nephew; and cousins. A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho.
