Atencio -- Tobias (Toby) Atencio, Jr., 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, joined his precious Lord, Jesus, and his beloved wife, Cora, Tuesday, February 18, 2003. He is survived by four children, Jeanne Mondragon and husband, Joe, of Silver City, NM, Kathy Atencio, Toby Ray Atencio, Richard Atencio and wife, Emma, all of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Joshua Mondragon of Albuquerque, Janiah Shields and husband, Oren, and Jacob Mondragon of Silver City, NM, Zach Atencio, Luis Atencio, Brandy Atencio, Jennifer Atencio, Taylor Atencio, and Quentin Atencio all of Albuquerque; one brother, Alfonso Atencio and wife, Emma; and one sister, Celina Carrillo of Velarde, NM, numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Toby was born in Velarde, NM and served in the Air Force. He retired from the Air National Guard, 250th Tactical Fighter Wing, nicknamed the"Enchilada Air Force" at KAFBin 1988 with the rank of MSgt. He was an airplane mechanic for many years then became a Logistician. He sidelined as a Realtor. Toby was an avid hunter and camper. He was a member of 2nd Presbyterian Church since 1953 where he served as an Elder and sang in the choir. He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang solos at many weddings and funerals. Toby had many, many, friends and was well known for his generosity and his willingness to help anyone, anywhere, at any time. Many people thought of him as their second father or grandfather. Toby had Parkinson's Disease for many years. He left this world on his own terms surrounded by his children, grandchildren, brother, sister, and some nieces and nephews at Lovelace Hospital. His spirit was set free of his body's ailments and he went into the light. Memorial Services will be held at Second Presbyterian Church 812 EdithNE, Tuesday February 25, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be atSunset Memorial Park, 924 MenaulNE, Tuesday February 25, 2003at 2:00 p.m. with full military honors. Pallbearer will be Pedro Carreon. Gifts may be sent to Second Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers.

Britt -- Bill E. Britt, age 68, a life long resident of Albuquerque died February 20, 2003. Survivors include his wife, of 51 years, Rose Marie of the family home; children, Cindy Phalen and husband, Micky, Lademma Nelson and husband, Greg, LaVon Britt, Shannon Minero and husband, Andrew, Randy Britt; sister, Charlotte Strain; brother, Jerry Britt; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild all of Albuquerque; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sister, Barbara Daggett. Bill was a lifelong member of I.B.E.W 611; he loved horse races, fishing, golf, and gardening. He was an avid Lobos and Dallas Cowboy's fan, coached for the Central Valley Little League and was a Boy Scout Awards Officer. Viewing and Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2003 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Chavez -- Mrs. Ruth M. Chavez died Thursday, February 20, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Chavez; mother, Fedelina Martinez; son, Ted Chavez; brothers, Elias, Lugo and Ben Martinez and recently preceded in death by Frank Martinez. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her children, Evelyn Chavez, Daniel E. Chavez and wife, Lupe, Jerry S. Chavez, Diana Valdez and husband, Steve and Christopher P. Chavez and wife, Jeanette; brother, Bon Martinez and wife, Julia; sister, Delia Navarro; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Chavez will be held on Monday at San Ignacio Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Valdez, Tim Chavez, Daniel S. Chavez, Todd Love, Gabriel Contreras, and Sammy Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Carolina, Yvonne, Jennifer, Irene, Carla, Loretta, Dori and Vida; Jerry J. Chavez, Daryl Nieto, Grant Schwartz, Tony Chavez, Cris Sotelo and Josesito Ortega. A Rosary for Mrs. Chavez will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Curley -- Tom Curley, Sr., 92, a resident of Albuquerque for 71 years, died Thursday, February 20, 2003. He is survived by his son, Tom Curley, Jr. of Dallas, TX; grandsons, Steve Curley of Houston, TX and Brian Curley and wife, Mindy of Austin, TX; and great-grandchildren, Niel Curley, Emily Curley, both of Houston, TX, Shayna Curley and Anton Curley, both of Austin, TX. Mr. Curley was preceded in death by his wife, Harriett Curley. Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at the Chester T. Doggett -- Bonnie"Scottie" Doggett, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 17, 2003, from complications of a stroke. She is survived by her husband, Jim Doggett of Elephant Butte, NM and Vallecito, CO; three daughters; and sons-in-law, Scotia and Brian Kurowski of Santa Fe, NM, Suzanna and Tom Langowski of Colorado Springs, CO and Jamie and Oliver Robinson of Carlsbad, CA. She is also survived by her five granddaughters, Shannon Dworczyk, Olivia and Jillian Robinson, Ariana Langowski and Ellyn Kurowski; brothers, Jack and Dale Pflager, of Fort Morgan, CO. Her older sister, Betty Schmick preceded her in death by several years. Scottie was born and grew up in Fort Morgan, CO, later attending college at the University of Colorado where she met her husband Jim. She went on to attain her Masters Degree from UNM. She taught at Del Norte High School for over 20 years where she served as the English Department chairperson and specialized in Advanced Placement English. Scottie will be remembered by those who knew her as a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother, an excellent and inspiring educator, an intelligent and effectual political activist, a respected community member, a lover of the outdoors and the high mountains, and an especially warm and valued friend. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2003 at French Mortuary - Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. DuBay -- Cindy DuBay-Durden, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, February 16, 2003 surrounded by her loving family and best friend, Brenda Arrossa. Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, William F. Durden; stepdaughters, Jezmynne Amergin and Corinne Durden; three step-grandchildren; parents, Kenneth and Maxine DuBay; brothers Timothy J. DuBay and wife, Regine, Michael A. DuBay and wife, Kristi; four nieces, two nephews, and her beloved cat, the Dowager Princess. Cindy would want to thank her associates and friends at PNM who were most supportive, helpful, and loving through the duration of her illness and her beloved friends at the State Bar of New Mexico Legal Assistant Division. Cindy was a 1974 graduate of Sandia High School, a 1978 graduate of New Mexico State University, and received her Associates Degree in paralegal studies from University of Albuquerque. Cindy was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 15, 1956. She enjoyed traveling with Fred in the"Big Girl," a 1975 Oldsmobile convertible, attending classic car shows, visiting museums, reading books and magazines, and watching old movies. Cindy's circle of family and friends will gather together on Saturday, February 22, 2003 at 1:30pm at the Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Los Lomas Road, NE. Reception to follow at the family home. We love her and will miss her more than words can convey. Ford -- Bob Ford, 67, a former resident of Farmington and a resident of Albuquerque the last two years, died Thursday, February 20, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janice Ford; mother, Helen Barker, both of the family home; sons, Rob Ford and wife Rhonda, and Brian Ford and companion Melinda Lopez, all of Farmington and Chuck Ford and wife, Gina of Albuquerque; daughter, Chris Oldham and companion Lorrie Carrillo of Farmington; three grandchildren, Jessica, Eric and Madison; and sister, Pat Nation of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bill Barker; and brother, Walter Ford. Bob was born in Bristow, OK and raised in the Bay Area of California. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years. He served in Vietnam just outside of Saigon. Upon retirement, Bob moved to Farmington where he lived for 25 years. He was a member of the VFW Post in Farmington. Bob was a beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Monday, February 24, 2003, at 12:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, with Chaplain Lemuel M. Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Garcia -- Mrs. Clorinda Garcia, 72, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 20, 2003. Mrs. Garcia is the beloved wife of 53 years to Mr. Gillie G. Garcia. Mrs. Garcia is also survived by her children, Dolores Martinez and husband, Chris, Ramona Trujillo and companion, Wallace Carroll, Flora Wilson and husband, James, Gillie Garcia Jr. and wife, Rosemarie, Jennie Lozoya, Jerry Garcia and companion, Juanita Ochoa, Kathy Garcia, Patrick Garcia and wife, Bobbi Jo; one sister, Paula Chavez; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Mrs. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church. A Visitation for Mrs. Garcia will be Sunday afternoon from 4:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. A final Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Vincent Dominguez.
