Anders -- Aileen G. Anders, 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, passed away on January 1, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Anders of Albuquerque; son, Michael J. Anders and wife Deann of Hillsboro, OR; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Garcia, Kathleen, Janeen and John Anders; great grandson, Skyler Garcia. Aileen is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Anders. Service will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. Becker -- LaVerne Anna Becker, 75, a resident of Rio Rancho, and coming to New Mexico from Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2002. LaVerne was born April 21, 1927 the daughter of Louis W. and Eleanor Hintz Post in Racine, Wisconsin. She had worked as an Office Supervisor for the Wacker Corp. before retiring. LaVerne loved quilting, painting, gardening, traveling; she had been President of Women of the ELCW; was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; was an active member of community service, and involved in her church. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Ralph Becker in 1991, one brother, Robert Post, and her parents. LaVerne is survived by three children, Ralph Becker and wife, Deborah, Carol Anderson and husband, Brant, all of Wisconsin, and Tina Burwinkle and husband, Hal of Rio Rancho, NM; two sisters; seven grandchildren; and other family and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2003 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. at the All Saints Lutherna Church, 4800 All Saints Rd. Caraway -- Donna F. Caraway, 54, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Tuesday, December 31, 2002. She is survived by her sister, Mary Caraway of Albuquerque; brothers, Claude Caraway and wife, Ruby of Pahrump, NV and Gerald Caraway and wife, Debra of Aurora, CO; and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and one sister. Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Jeff Leslie and Marvin Burkholder officiating. Castillo -- Victorio Calleros Castillo, patriarch of the Castillo family, was born in Zacoalco, Jalisco, Mexico on November 2, 1904. To escape the Mexican Revolution, a 15 year old Victorio came to the United States with the hope of finding greater opportunities to support his mother, brothers and sisters. He met Maria Luisa Calleja in 1927 and brought his new bride to the United States a year later. Victorio, a self-educated man, continued his life-long quest of learning taking English and citizenship classes. He took formal machinist classes as well, which prepared him to fulfill a childhood dream of working on train engines. Victorios career with the Santa Fe Railroad spanned 47 years, during which time he honed his skills to reach the level of master machinist. The primary love of his life; however, remained his wife and family. Sharing his passion for life were gardening, travel and his legendary love of history. After retiring from the Santa Fe Railroad, he worked for another 20 years helping his son at Victors Pharmacy. Victorio is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Luisa, who has awaited him in heaven since December 10, 1999. Victorio and Maria Luisa Castillos seven children are: Victor Castillo, Alice Montano, Evangeline Aragon, Carmen Richards, Irene Candelaria, Maria Luisa Cullum and Gloria Castillo. They have 31 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Annes Catholic Church, with Father John Shedlock, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Castillo, Michael Montano, Ricardo Marquez, Juan Cullum, Zac Cullum and John Candelaria. Crass -- Mary Crass, 65, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2002, in Fort Worth. Funeral was held Thursday, January. 2, 2003, at First Christian Church of Fort Worth, TX. Burial followed at Restland Cemetery in Olney, TX. Memorials may be sent to Christian Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico Hwy 236, Portales, N.M. 88130-9411 or charity of choice. Mary was passionate about honoring God in song. She was a member of the choir at First Christian Church of Fort Worth and previously a member of the Young at Heart Choir in Albuquerque, N.M. She expressed her love for God's creation by capturing peaceful outdoor scenes on canvas and in photographs. Always faithful to her Savior, she was a servant to her family and friends and was a light to those around her. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Harold L. Davidson -- George T. Davidson SMSGT, retired USAF went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2003. He was born January 25, 1929 in Gindstone City, Michigan. Proceeding him in death were his parents Jennie and George Davidson and his youngest brother Larry. He is survived by Gladys, his wife of 54 years. His Daughters and son in laws are Mary and Wayne Brummett, Debra and Paul Sievert, and T. Ree and Stephen Snow . His grandchildren include Eric and Chad Brummett, Jason Sievert, Andrew and Luke Snow, and one great granddaughter Emily Brummett. Other surviving family members include Mary and Robert Davidson, Darlene and Harry Davidson, Joanne and Don Davidson and Ruthann and Barry Peet along with many loved nephews and nieces. A special thank you to the VA hospital for their love and care throughout the years, and our friends and church family who have stood by us with their love and prayers. Engle -- Ruby May Engle, 89, a resident of Rio Rancho passed away on Friday, January 3, 2003 at Simple Pleasures Senior Care. Ruby was born March 23, 1913, the daughter of Benjamin and Gertrude Elizabeth Rowe Doney in Rifle, Colorado. Ruby grew up in the Rigby, Idaho area. She spent most of her adult life in Portland, Oregon until relocating to Rio Rancho in 1975. She was a charter member of the Thimbleweed Quilters. Ruby is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Entwistle of Rio Rancho, and Sondra Philpott of Clackamas, OR; one brother, Lee Gilson of Portland, OR; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A service for Ruby will be held today, Saturday, January 4, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the Reverend Marjorie Loiselle officiating. Jackson -- Verna B. Jackson, a resident of Albuquerque for 13 years, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2003. She was born in Denton, TX, June 18, 1910, the oldest of 3 children, having 2 brothers, who preceded her in death. She was 12 when her mother died and she became mother to her brothers. She was determined to get her education, graduating from high school at 16 and from college at 19. She earned her bachelor's in Spanish from Texas Women's University. She began her teaching career in Tornia, TX. She married Albert Jackson (who preceded her in death in 1970) June 6, 1931 in El Paso, TX. They moved to Carlsbad in 1932. The have five children who survive her; LaVerne Allen, Stanley, AZ; Bill Jackson, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Bobbie Hale, Fair Oaks Ranch, TX; Jim Jackson, Boulder, CO; and Louise Kodituwakku, Albuquerque plus 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. In order to stay home with her children, she began Jack and Jill Kindergarten, which she successfully operated for 25 years. In 1968, she became financial secretary for First United Methodist Church in Carlsbad retiring at age 78. She was a member of Eastern Star, Business Women's Association, and United Methodist Women's. She taught Sunday school and was mentor to many who learned to teach under her guidance. In 1990, she moved to Albuquerque to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Kodi. She was active in PH United Methodist Church, transporting many friends to services. She became less active as she developed Alzheimer's. For two years, she was blessed with love and care daily from, Debbie and Rachel. Paul and Mickey Duganne faithfully represented her church, providing communion each month. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks N. of Paseo del Norte) a reception will follow at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, 4700 Paradise Blvd. NW. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Carlsbad at a later date. Knudson -- Euell Elwood (Jack) Knudson, age 66. Jack was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on May 14, 1936. He graduated from Highland High School in 1954, joined the Army in 1955 and was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne. After a very courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family he went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2002. He was a homebuilder and developer. He is survived by his wife Rosalie Remillard-Knudson (remarried December 21, 2002), his daughters Laurie Knudson of Albuquerque, NM, Jenny Jones and husband Tim of Kerrville, TX, son Steven Knudson and wife Mary of Georgetown, TX., Scott Barlow (adopted son), Albuquerque, NM, sisters Marilyn Borcik of Abilene, TX and Anna Rinker of NM. Grandchildren Staff Sgt. Tony Gonzales and wife Misty, based Ft. Eustis, VA., Cameron Martinez and wife Laura, Albuquerque, NM, Audrey Martinez, Albuquerque, NM, Shawn and Stevie Jones of Kerrville, TX and Andrew Knudson of Lovelock, NV and 4 great grandchildren. Services following cremation to be held at Weir Baptist Church, 205 S. Main St. on January 4th, 2003 at 2:00. Pastor Randy Moore will be officiating. The family would like to express their complete gratitude to everyone for the support and comfort Jack was given in his time of need.

Mease -- Col. John W. Mease, US Army, (Ret.), 90, a very loved and respected father, grandfather, and friend, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2003. He was born on August 6, 1912 in Barnsboro, PA. Col. Mease relocated to Albuquerque in 1987. He served in the US Army during WWII, and the Korean Conflict, in the South Pacific, and Germany. After retiring from the military, Col. Mease was associated with the United Refining Company in Warren, PA for 21 years; retiring again in 1975. He was a life member of Lawrence Lodge No.708, F & A-Masonic Lodge, Mt. Olivet Commandery #30, Temple Royal Arch Chapter No. 215, Legion of Honor, Zem-Zem Shrine Temple, Past-President Warren County Shrine Club, and the Royal Order of Jesters Court #58, all of Erie, PA, and he belonged to the 112th Infantry, 28th Division of the Pennsylvania National Guard, and the Officer's Reserve Corps. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Marie; son, Glen and wife, Catherine of Conroe, TX; granddaughters, Marcy Mease-Moser and husband, Pat and Lynne Mease-Daves and husband, Scott of Austin, TX; and their mother, our good friend Anne Mease; 2 great-grandchildren, Wesley and Casey Daves of Austin, TX; and 1 step-great-grandson, Tyler Moser. He will be truly missed by all his family and so many others. Moralez -- Mr. Robert (Wapa) G. Moralez died Monday, December 30, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 55. Mr. Moralez is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Inez Moralez, and brothers, David, Frank and Anthony Moralez. He is survived by his daughter, Frances Moralez; brothers, Wilfred and wife, Barbara, Albert and wife, Lorraine, Toby and wife, Marcella, Chris and Joe Moralez; sisters, Corrine Moralez, Mary Silva and husband, Joe, Juanita Martinez and husband, Peter, Flora Vi Dera and husband, Efran, Gloria Moralez, Erlinda Cordova, Josie Ponce and Sally Padilla; and many nephews and nieces. Pratt -- Grant C. Pratt, passed away Monday, December 30, 2002. Born May 24, 1922 in Pownal, Vermont, Grant proudly served his country as a bomber pilot in WWII, and retired as a Lt. Colonel, USAF, after being awarded the Purple Heart. While he was stationed in the Philippines, he became a Mason. Grant was an avid golfer, until his pulmonary fibrosis would no longer permit him to play. He is survived by his wife, Bette; two sons, Ronnie Pratt and Randy Pratt and their wives, Connie and Paris; two daughters, Janice and husband, Michael Nunley of Ohio, and Catherine Pratt of Albuquerque; grandson, Stirling Carpenter III and wife, Jen; sister-in-law, Johnnita Johnson of Albuquerque; stepdaughter, Susan Lepisto and husband, Bob of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Jayme Nelson and husband, Jim; and five great-grandchildren, Kendall Landstrom and Stephanie, Cassandra, Taylor and Madison Nelson, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary in 1993. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2003, 10:30 a.m. at Ballut Abyud Temple, 6600 Zuni SE. Seavey -- Robert W. Seavey, 75, passed away quietly on the morning of Thursday, January 2, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary, their children and their spouses, Cathy and Bernd Hauschildt, Brian and Lisa Seavey, his grandchildren, Stephanie and Erik Hauschildt and Ammon, Ella, Nephi and Lilly Seavey, his sister, Jean E. Shub of Bentonville, Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, and was born in Elmhurst, Illinois on March 28, 1927. He worked for 32 years at Sandia National Laboratories. Bob also served many years in the Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls and was active in marriage ministry for Our Lady of Annunciation Parish and marriage preparation for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly. A Resurrection Mass in honor of Bobs life will be held at Our Lady of Annunciation Church, 2532 Vermont NE, on Monday, January 6, 2003, at 8:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 5, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the rosary. Interment will follow Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Silva -- Librado Silva, 62, born and raised in Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord on December 31, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Cruz Silva of Albuquerque; 2 sons, Lee Silva and wife, Michelle of Albuquerque, Matthew Silva of Denver, CO; 2 daughters, Michelle Sproles and husband, Wayne of Denver, CO, Melissa Monroe and husband, Myles of Atlanta, GA; 3 stepchildren, Maggie Young of Los Lunas, NM, Theresa Leyba of Portland, OR and Rick Leyba and wife, Veronica of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Danielle, Raquel and Gabrielle Silva, Rachel, Briana and Courtney Sproles, Matthew and Amanda Monroe. Librado is also survived by 2 sisters, Lydia Madden and husband, Denny of Oceanside, CA and Patsy Evans of Carson City, NV and many dear friends. Librado was a loving, generous father. He had an unsurpassed hospitality for others and will be missed by all who knew him. He worked for the FAA for 35 years and retired in October 2002.
