You're a person we love unlike any other: "A special kind of woman" "Mother"Sheryl"Sheri" Gunn Abrahamson, age 52, joined her Lord Jesus Christ and her beloved parents, Gayle and Anna Gunn, on July 5th, 2002. Sheri, a resident of Albuquerque, is survived by her husband, John; children Nathan, Megan and Bethany, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Gaylon LaVigne, Judie Gunn and their families, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Gary Gunn of San Antonio, TX, Gayle Gunn II of Mesa, AZ and their families; Aunt Barbara and Uncle John and family of Watertown Conn. Cremation has taken place. A gathering will be held at the Abrahamsons' home on July 14th, 2002, between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. For all the prayers and the thoughtful acts of kindness, please accept our deepest gratitude. Bell -- Viola G. Bell, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1928, died Friday, July 5, 2002. She is survived by her nieces, Sue Clance of Seal Beach, CA, Pat Boyd and husband, John of Albuquerque, Jean Payne and husband, Joel of Mena, AK; nephew, Roy Edward Williams of Chicago, IL; three great-nephews; and three great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren E. Bell. Mrs. Bell was a member of and very involved with Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She worked for many years at Valley High School and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Services will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Joyce Lieberman and Rev. Chris Lieberman officiating. Buse -- Leonard Frank Buse, age 76, and a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years died July 6, 2002. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Buse of Albuquerque; daughter, Sandra Macris and husband, John of CA; son, David Buse of Albuquerque; sisters, Verna Prehn and husband, Leonard of Albuquerque, Betty Thomas of AR, June Miller and husband, Roger of MD; grandchildren, Michael Macris, Kristie Macris, Tiffany Buse, Brittany Buse and Ashley Buse; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Cotters -- Colonel John Francis"Jack" Cotters, 77, passed away on July 3, 2002. Born April 8, 1925 in Lockport (Wright's Corners), New York, he had been an Albuquerque resident since 1974. Entering the Army Air Corps in 1943, he graduated Aviation Cadet training at Kirtland Air Force Base where he met and married his wife of 49 years, Delora Mae Miller, daughter of Albuquerque residents, Dan and Violet Neff. Col. Cotters flew B-17 Bombers with the 99th Bomb Group out of Foggia, Italy during WW II, was a member of the European Occupation Forces after the war, and was a pioneer in the computer automation of the United States Air Force in the 1960's and 70's. He retired from the US Air Force in 1974 after a distinguished 30 year military career. Col. Cotters was a member of the VFW, a Scottich Rite Mason, and a long-time active member of the Ballut Abyad Temple. An avid horseman, he served as captain of the Shrine Mounted Patrol for several terms. Col. Cotters is preceded in death by his wife, Delora Cotters and sister, Madeline Kilroy. He is survived by his sister, Olive Maracle of Tonawanda, NY; son, LCDR Jon F. Cotters and wife, Barbara of Hampton, VA; daughter, Susan L. Stoker and husband, Gerald of Edgewood, NM; daughter, Sally E. Wiser and husband, Rick of Rogers, AR; granddaughter, Ashley E. Stoker of Rincon, Puerto Rico; grandson, David A. Wiser of Austin, TX; and granddaughter, Rachel D. Wiser of Rogers, AR. In deference to the wishes of the deceased, a private ceremony was held July 8, 2002 at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Jameson -- Aldona S. Jameson, age 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964 died July 6, 2002 at her home. She is preceded in death in 1997 by her beloved spouse of 55 years, Malcolm McGregor Jameson. She is survived by daughters, Kathleen J. McClure and husband, James of La Grange, IL, Jo Lee Jameson of Albuquerque; sister, Frances"Fritzie" Halper and her companion, Robert Lyddon of Almo, TX; grandchildren, Steven and Windy McClure both of Chicago, IL. Jaramillo -- Didianita"Dee Dee" Edwina Jaramillo, 35, born November 4, 1966. A loving daughter, sister and Auntie, left us on July 7, 2002 at Ladera Nursing Home, where she fought a long illness of kidney failure. Dee Dee was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Ray Jaramillo, and her son, Raymond Jaramillo. She is survived by her mother, Gloria Garcia; two brothers, Miramon Garcia and wife Jamie, and Raymon M. Jaramillo; two sisters, Tonya Jaramillo and Gloria Jaramillo; many nieces and nephews. Rhoads -- James Rhoads, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vadis Rhoads of the family home; two sisters, Geneva James and Mary Matheny, and their families all of Ohio; and a niece, Caroline Antill of England. Mr. Rhoads was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Rhoads. He was a 2nd Lieutenant Army veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Rhoads was a member of the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Division"Hell on Wheels". He participated in the invasion of North Africa, Sicily and Normandy, and onto Berlin. Virgil was born June 19, 1913 the son of Angelo and Maria Nechiari Salce in Corrales, New Mexico. He had been a farmer his entire life until retiring. Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Cathleen in 1992. Shapiro -- Betsy E. Shapiro, 62, a resident of Rio Rancho passed away on July 6, 2002. Betsy was born on July 15, 1939 in Buffalo, NY to Harry and Esther Hymowitz. Betsy was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Congretation Albert Synagogue. Betsy was very active in politics and was a proud member of the Democratic Club. She adored her family and her precious grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Smith -- Mr. Billy Glenn Smith, age 56, of London, Texas and Placitas, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2002, the result of complications from cancer treatment. A private memorial service was held on July 4, 2002 at the Smith ranch in London. Billy served his country as a member of the Air Force in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1969. He went on to become a successful business owner in the aviation industry. Billy will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his kindness, his strength, his indomitable spirit, and his overwhelming capacity for love. Billy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pearl and John Smith of Scurry, Texas. Trimble -- Rowena Frances Trimble was born in Kirkville, MO, the first child of Floene and Thomas Quinn. Her father's newspaper profession took them to different parts of the country, settling in IA. Trimble later met and married Donald Dean Trimble. During WWII her husband became a career Air Force Officer, more traveling including time in England and Morocco. Wherever they lived, she created a home. She was a talented artist, a creative seamstress and an avid gardener. Mrs. Trimble was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and is survived by their son, Thomas Trimble, and grandson, Taylor Trimble, both of Madison, WI, as well as a brother, Thomas Quinn of North Carolina and two nieces, residents of New Jersey. Walker Shaw -- Walker- Sally Ann Walker Shaw, 57, passed away peacefully at her home in Bosque Farms on Friday, July 5th 2002. She was born in New Jersey on October 2, 1944 and moved to New Mexico in the early 1970's making Bosque Farms her home. Sally had a zest for life and loved animals, gardening, beadwork, and many other hobbies. She has touched the lives and hearts of many and will be dearly missed and forever loved and remembered.
