Abraham -- Jake Abraham, 74, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2002. He was born to Siegfried and Jessie Gunn Abraham on May 3, 1927. Jake's early years were spent in Laguna and he graduated from Grants High in 1945. After serving in the Navy, he returned and received his college degree at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Following service with the New Mexico State Police in Santa Fe, Jake returned to Grants where he spent the remainder of his life. He was active in the community and served with the Grants City Council, Laguna Tribal Budget and Education Committees, BPOE Lodge 2053, Grants Quadrathalon, Boy Scouts, Little League, Booster Club and the Bi-County Fair. He will be fondly remembered as an avid hunter, outdoorsman and teller of stories. Jake is survived by his wife of 52 years Birdye Hawkinson Abraham; son, Dr. Ken Abraham and wife Nona and grandchildren, Kami and Koby of Grants; Daughters, Terri of Albuquerque, and Randi of Springeville, Utah; sister, Ruth (Diddy) Sarracino and husband Eddy of Laguna. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rebecca Fernandez, and his son, Jacob (Moe) Abraham. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Presbyterian Hospice Program, 8100 Constitution Place NE Albuquerque, NM 87110. A Memorial Service will be held at the Presbyterian Church, 400 Nimitz Drive, Grants, New Mexico, on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at 10:00am. Harger -- Mary Louise Harger, 98, a resident of New Mexico for 41 years, died Thursday, April 4, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Howard D. Harger and wife, Hilda of Biloxi, MS, Bob J. Harger and wife, Sally, Wendell M. Harger and wife, Carol A., all of Albuquerque, Roland N. Harger and wife, Connie and Larry T. Harger, all of Los Lunas; daughters, Edith M. Wright of Wichita, KS, Evelyn Ford and husband, William C. of Lumberton, MS, Julia E. Mitchell and husband, John of Albuquerque, Claudette Jackson of Phoenix, AZ and Brenda S. Shott of Los Lunas; daughter-in-law, Ricki M. Harger; 29 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Agnes Bazer and husband, Raymond of Mississippi. Mrs. Harger was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Harger; sons, Ronald C. Harger, Max H. Harger; grandson, Duane Jackson; and sons-in-law, Harold Jackson and Frank Wright. Herrera -- Mr. Mariano Herrera Jr., 84, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 5, 2002. Mr. Herrera is survived by his beloved wife of sixty four years, Reyna Herrera; four daughters, Clara Galloway and husband, Cedric, Irene Blea and husband, John, Senaida Charley and husband, Tom, Donna Marsico and husband, Steve; three sons, Puliidor (Puli) Herrera, Chris (Cristobal) Herrera and wife, Arlene, Fred Herrera and wife, Yolanda; her sister, Caroline Herrera; two brothers, Eloy Herrera and wife, Lina, Ramon Herrera and wife Grace; twenty five grandchildren; thirty nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Herrera was preceded in death by his parents, Mariano and Quirina Herrerra, his brothers, Jose, Nestor and Avelino Herrera; his sister, Lucinda Baca. Mr. Herrera was a member of the Catholic Church, International Association of Machinists at G.E./A.C.F. Johnson -- Pamela Kay Johnson, 44, passed away Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002 in Amarillo, TX. She is survived by her mother, Kathryn E. Johnson; father, Gerald Johnson, Sr.; brother, Gerald Jr. and fiancee, Theresa all of Albuquerque. Pamela was born and raised in Albuquerque. She graduated from Valley High School in 1975. She was a very compassionate, and caring person and will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and Graveside Services will be held on Monday, April 8, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with Jim Yates of Berean Baptist Church officiating.

Kazanecki -- Louis Kazanecki, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, died Thursday, March 28, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Marie Kazanecki of Albuquerque; daughters, Christine Weigt and husband, Nathan of Oregon, WI and Mary Etmanczyk and husband, James of Madison, WI; two granddaughters, Laura (Brian) Weber and Mara Etmanczyk; a great-granddaughter, Caroline Weber; and two nephews, Thomas Kazanecki of St. Louis, MO and Tim Kazanecki of Tyner IN. A WWII veteran, Mr. Kazanecki served in the United States Coast Guard from 1941-1946. Mr. Kazanecki was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd. He was also a member, for over 50 years, of Dells Masonic Lodge #124 in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with the Reverend Stephen J. Miller officiating. Krause -- Rosina G. Krause, 77, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died Saturday, April 6, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard W. Krause of Albuquerque; sisters, Mary Gonzales, Josephine Rivera and Tillie Gonzales and husband, Albert, all of Albuquerque, and Frances Martinez of Santa Fe; brother, Mike Garcia and wife, Corrine of Santa Fe; former husband and Mia Williams' father, Everett"Bill" Williams; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rosina was a member of St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande Catholic Church where she was involved in Bible study. Lair -- Ruby Omega Lair, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Saturday, April 6, 2002. Mrs. Lair was a great friend to many people in Albuquerque and an absolute"Rose aholic." Mayeux -- Oliver Guy Mayeux, 80, a resident of Albuquerque for the past nine years went home on Friday, April 5, 2002, to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in Plaucheville, Louisiana, on December 24, 1921. He was the youngest of eight children and was preceded in death by his dear wife Jewell, his parents, and his four sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his only daughter Patricia Ann Medina and husband Lawrence of Albuquerque; grandson Gary Medina of Edmond, Oklahoma; granddaughters Karen Merwin and husband Jon of Ormond Beach, Florida; and Deanna Medina of Albuquerque; by four precious great-grandchildren; Emily Merwin, Connor Merwin, Cali Merwin, and Phillip Medina; and by many nephews and nieces. Upon graduation from high school Mr. Mayeux enlisted in the military where he spent twenty-two years of active duty and retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military he worked for Lockheed Aircraft at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona for sixteen years. He had a kind heart, a great sense of humor and dearly loved his entire family. Rosary will be recited Monday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd., NW (3 Blocks N. of Paseo Del Norte). Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd., NW with Fr. John Conway, celebrant. Tanner -- Harvey Tanner, loving husband, father, grandfather, hunting buddy, and friend, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died Saturday, April 6, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thora Tanner of the family home; daughter, Willa Lisica and husband, John of Albuquerque; son, Charles Tanner and wife, Katherine of Plainview, TX; brother, Charles H. Tanner and wife, Estelle of Plymouth, N.H.; and 5 grandchildren. Harvey was a WWII Army veteran, serving in 4 major campaigns in the European theatre: Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland. He was an avid outdoorsman, continuing to hunt to his last days. He was a lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited and the Elks. Harvey never met a stranger. He was very outgoing and friendly and he will be greatly missed by many. Private graveside services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Ward -- Margaret Louise Ward, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, Saturday, March 30th. She was born March 6th 1910, in Gwynneville, Indiana. She and her late husband Chalen Ward came to Albuquerque in 1939. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Gross and Jeannine Chilton; grandchildren, Durees, Connie, Wes, Dana, Tracey, Jody; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ashton, Hunter, Brandon Barnhouse, Amanda, Dillon, Kiersten; great-great grandson, Cody; sister in-law, Opal Hargrove. Margaret was a member of Covenant Christian Church. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, April 8, 2002 in Covenant Christian Church 6380 Iris Rd.
