Booth -- Mrs. Pauline Booth, age 91, of Albuquerque formerly of Winder, GA died March 25, 2002. Mrs. Booth was a daughter of the late Fred and Ellie Williams Hawkins and had resided in Barrow County, GA for most of her life. She was the widow of Mr. Jeremiah W. Booth. Mrs. Booth had owned Smart Styles Dress Shop in Winder, GA. She was a member of New Life Presbyterian Church of Winder, GA and was a member of the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002 from the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Surviving are daughter, Gene Booth of Albuquerque; son, Jerry W. Booth of Atlanta, GA; sister, Runette Collins of Monroe, GA; five grandchildren also survive. Carter Funeral Home of Winder, GA is in charge of arrangements.

Devries -- Ralph P. DeVries, passed away the morning of March 27, 2002. Born in Albany, NY Nov. 6, 1921, he was a graduate of Renssalear Polytechnic Institute, where he received a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering. During World War II, he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps, and spent most of his three years of service on the island of Guam. After the war, he worked for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Co. and Owens Corning Fiberglass Co., conducting research in high temperature metals. In 1965, he became Technical Director for Firth Sterling Co. in Pittsburgh, PA, directing R&D operations. In 1970, Mr. DeVries changed careers and became Associate Director of Kendal at Longwood in Kennett Square, PA, a non-profit Quaker-run community for the elderly. Kendal became a prototype for high quality residential health care for older persons, receiving many awards for outstanding service in the health care field. In 1995, Mr. DeVries and his wife moved to Albuquerque, wishing to retire in the Southwest. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; three children; and five grandchildren. His son, David, resides in Camp Hill, PA; Douglas and Kristine, live in Boulder, CO. Also surviving him are three step-children, all living in the San Francisco area: Jennifer Omholt, Karen Omholt, and Clark Omholt; and four step-grandchildren. Mr. DeVries was an active member of the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque. A Memorial Service will be held there on Tuesday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Parkinson's Disease Association will be greatly appreciated. Dunnagan -- Evelyn Dunnagan, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, passed away on March 28, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Baca and husband, Sam; son-in-law, Gerald R. Farley; four grandchildren, Ronald Farley and wife, Suzie, Denise Pickard and husband, Paul, and Jennifer and Adam Baca; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Gavin, Cassandra and Trevor Pickard, and Jason and Kimberly Farley; sister, Caludine Mathis and husband, J.L. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden Dunnagan in 1974; and a daughter, Shirley Farley in 1998. She was a charter member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Granny enjoyed many long days in her garden. She enjoyed cooking for her family every Sunday and had a strong faith in God that she shared with her family. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE. Fanelli -- Joseph Michael Fanelli, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. Joe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Grace Fanelli. Joe and Grace shared an undying life together, which will be an inspiration to family and friends forever. Joe is also survived by three daughters, Jo-Ann Hood, Lu-Ann Wulff, and Dianne McKenna; six grandchildren, Joseph Hood, Brian Hood, Candice, Hailey, Jordan, and Brooke McKenna, one great-granddaughter, Jillian Hood, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by one grandson, William Joseph Hood, age 10. Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 28, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, and tomorrow, Friday, March 29, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho. Gillett -- Theresa Gillett, 96, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, died March 21, 2002 at Manzano del Sol Health Care Center. She was a native of Rockford, IL and a graduate of Rockford College and the University of Illinois Library School. She was Chief Cataloguer at the University of New Mexico until her retirement. After retirement, she became active in Friends of the Albuquerque Public Library and for many years sorted and priced books for the annual book sale. She was an active member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she had been historian, archivist and librarian. She is survived by a niece, Ann Howard of Cleveland, OH; and a nephew, Robert Gillett of Coos Bay, OR. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2002 at Manzano del Sol, 5201 Roma NE, where Ms. Gillett was one of the original residents. Hollenbeck -- Raymond R. Hollenbeck, 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. Ray retired in 1982 from the Federal Government after 31 years as an electrical engineer. He was past president of the Optimist Club and past president of Albuquerque Mens Bowling Association. Hults -- James W. Hults, 53, passed away March 26, 2002 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, but moved to New Mexico at an early age. He enlisted at age 17 with the U.S. Navy (Sea Bee's & SEALs Team) September 10, 1965 and served aboard the U.S.S. Roosevelt CVA42 as well as the U.S.S. Saratoga CVA60 and was honorably discharged April 30, 1970 after his final combat tour in Vietnam. Jim entered the Albuquerque Police Department Academy in July 1970. During his 20+ years, he worked as Patrol Officer, Field Investigator, Parking Control Supervisor, Traffic Analysis Supervisor, Police Reserve Coordinator/Supervisor, Training Officer, Fatal Accident Coordinator, School Crossing Guard Supervisor, Academy Instructor, Cadet Field Training Officer, but his true love was riding his Harley (M-90) 14 years as a Traffic Officer! He also taught Police Science at TV-I for several years. After retiring at the rank of Lieutenant, Jim decided to try something outside of law enforcement and wanting to spend more time with his family, went to work with his wife, Yvonne, son, Randy and father-in-law, Bill at Albuquerque Publishing Co. After a few months, Jim was offered a job with the Government and so he began his 2nd career with the Department of Veteran Affairs Police and worked for ten years until his illness deteriorated his health and he retired as Operations Manager/Captain (El Jefe). Jim dedicated 30 years of service to law enforcement and was proud of it. Jim was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved spending time at the cabin in Red River with his wife and children. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Joseph F. Hults and his brother-like best friend, Julian A. Duran. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Yvonne Byers Hults; children, Randy and wife, Corinna Hults, Gina Hults, Sharon Hults, James Hults, Joseph Hults and Joe Chairez; grandchildren, Andrew Chairez, Brianna, Mathew, Nicole Jamie, Tasha and Lisa Hults; mother, Grace Hults; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Bill and Josie Byers; brother-in-law, Bill (Boy) Byers Jr.; special niece/goddaughter, Shanna Byers; nephew, William (Bubba) Byers; siblings, Sandy, Ann, Cathy and Joe and many other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held Monday, April 1, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. until time of Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks north of Paseo del Norte). Jaynes -- Daniel H. Jaynes, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 25, 2002. He is survived by his wife Betty Jaynes; daughter, Mary Jaynes of Albuquerque; two sons, Joe Jaynes of Thorndale, TX and Jim Jaynes and wife, Sharon of Albuquerque; and six grandchildren. Mr. Jaynes was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Navy, and was a Purple Heart recipient. Dan was a member of Northdale Baptist Church and the Gideons International. Kaestner -- Stuart Collier Kaestner (August 18, 1966---March 23, 2002). Stu died after a long brain cancer illness. A local resident for 35 years, he was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and New Mexico State University. Mr. Moran retired from Prudential Insurance where he worked in sales and management. He resided in Branson for five years. Ochadlik -- Helen M. Ochadlik, born May 11, 1920 in Montgomery County, PA to Joseph Gallan and Mary Turbenez, died peacefully Monday, March 25, 2002. She was married to Joseph Ochadlik for 35 years, who she married October 11, 1947. Mrs. Ochadlik lived in Bucks County, PA for most of her life and retired in Albuquerque to be with her family. A caring and loving mother and grandmother she will be missed by her children, David and Mary Ochadlik; and her grandchildren, Roxanne, Gina and Sonja Ochadlik who survive her. Peters -- Virgil L. Peters, 90, of Owosso, MI passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002. He was born May 14, 1911 in Lueders, TX the child of Lester L. and Minnie L. (Martin) Peters. Virgil had resided in Owosso since 1992 moving her from Tularosa, NM. In 1940, he married Hazel Gertrude Storey in Carrizozo, NM. Mrs. Peters passed away on September 7, 1992. He attended First United Methodist Church in Owosso and was a member of the Tularosa, NM, United Methodist Church where he as a member of the Methodist Men's Group. Mr. Peters was also a member of the Lovington, NM Lions Club. He was a graduate of Carrizozo, NM High School where he was class Valedictorian. Mr. Peters worked for New Mexico State Highway Department, the U.S. Forestry Service and the Bureau of Land Management, retiring as a District Maintenance Supervisor in 1978 after 32 years with the State of New Mexico. In his youth, he worked as a ranch hand. He is survived by son, Robert (Peggy) Peters of Cloudcroft, NM; daughter, Rhonda (Larry) Doan of Owosso, MI; grandchildren, Kimberley D. Peters, Lauri L. (Jeffrey) Smith, Robert L. Peters, II, Deana L. Doan, Shari L. (Josef) Doan-Jokinen; and great-grandchildren, Kristen and Kathryn Coss, Abrey and Jaelyn Smith and Kaleb Jokinen. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Edwina Peters. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Owosso, MI on Saturday, March 30, 2002, 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Grant R. Lobb and Rev. Eric Kieb officiating. A time of sharing memories with the family will follow the Memorial Service at the church. His final resting place will be next to his wife of 52 years at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruidoso, NM. Shaw -- Leila F. Shaw, 93, resident of Albuquerque, NM, died Sunday, March 24, 2002. She is survived by her son, Robert Don Shaw of Upland, CA; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clarence Shaw in 1958 and one son. Leila graduated from Northwest State University. She taught school in Albuquerque, NM and California. Leila was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church. She was also a member of Sew and Sew Club in Albuquerque. She also enjoyed quilting. Leila was an angel on earth. Services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, with Rev. Fred W. Dorisse officiating. Storrs -- James Lane Storrs, 71, died Sunday, March 24, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV. James was born September 22, 1930 in Ashland, TN. A retired civilian engineer for the U.S. Air Force, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, in which he served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kris of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Linda Eastman and husband, Bill of Kent, WA and Cindy McMurray and husband, Mark of Frenchtown, MT; and one grandson, Benjamin Eastman. Memorial Services were held in Las Vegas, NV on March 25, 2002. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. The Storrs Family is requesting that donations be made to your local Veteran's Association. Bunkers Mortuary of Las Vegas, NV handled the arrangements.

Traylor -- Earl Jack Traylor was born July 21, 1918 to Richard and Emma Traylor who homesteaded in New Mexico shortly after it attained statehood. Raised in the Alto-Ruidoso, NM area, Earl worked in his late teens for the National Forest Service in training CCC workers to fight forest fires and maintain forest trails. After his marriage to Doris Graves in the late 1930s, he moved his young family to Deming, NM where he worked for the Peru Mining Co. suppling copper and lead for the war effort during World War II. Following the war he accepted a position as electrical engineer with Public Service Co. of New Mexico. When PSC's Deming plant was closed, he was transferred to Albuquerque, NM where he rose to the rank of senior operator, retiring in 1975 after 30 years of service. After retiring, Earl devoted his time to developing a small ranch in Bosque, NM. He was able to return to his lifelong love for the land, nature and animal husbandry. Earl's ability with animals earned him the family designation of"Dr. Dolittle","because we all knew that he talked to the animals and they talked to him". Earl dedicated his life to Jehovah God and symbolized that act by his baptism in 1963. After his retirement from Secular work, it was his privilege to serve for ten years as the presiding elder of the Belen, NM Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. His knowledge of New Mexico real estate laws proved to be extremely useful to the congregation. He served for a number of years in the food service department for the conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses. Due to failing health, Earl and Doris moved to Odessa in 1995 to be closer to their children. Although his health prevented him from being very active, Earl enjoyed the fellowship of his Christian brothers and sisters in the Odessa Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses. He found great pleasure in visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Earl had a deep abiding faith in the Bible's promise of a new world where all will enjoy abundant health with the prospect of everlasting life. He treasured the assurance of Christ that there will be a resurrection of all those in the memorial tombs. His favorite Bible test was Ps. 94:17:"Unless Jehovah had been of assistance to me, In a little while my soul would have resided in silence." Earl Jack Traylor passed away March 25, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Doris; a son, Vance Traylor of Odessa; two daughters, Earleen Peters of Odessa and Sherry Long of Payson, AZ; and eight grandchildren, Drew Peters of Midland, Elise Peters of Scottsdale, AZ, Cassie Cole of Grapevine, Sherry Parkhurst of the Woodlands, Kaasha Urban of Oklahoma City, Keena Traylor of Odessa, Michel Long of Idaho and David Long of Phoenix. He is survived by numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Vittitow -- Richard Meredith Vittitow, 63, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2002. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 16, 1938 to Bennet Vittitow and Elsie Frasure Vittitow who preceded him in death. The family came to New Mexico in 1948. Richard graduated from Highland High School in 1957 and attended UNM for three years, leaving to enter the bricklayers apprenticeship program. He began working at Bradbury Stamm Construction Co. in 1960, and started estimating in 1964, working with Bradbury Stamm over the next 38 years becoming a project manager, vice president and member of the Board of Directors, retiring in 1998. Following retirement, he worked for Shiver Construction and was employed by Star Construction at the time of his death. He organized the Roadrunner Chapter of the American Society of Professional Estimators and served in many positions including Rocky Mountain Governor and National First Vice President. He was a member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda; two sons; Daniel and wife Tonia of Houston, Texas and Darren and wife Kim of Blanchard, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Richard, Drake and Jacob Vittitow; sister, JoAnne Rolan-Nichols and family Jimmy, Kenny and Patti; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Richard succumbed after a lifelong battle with asthma and chronic lung disease. Best known for his dry wit, the art of negotiation and love of life, he was an award-winning gardener, who loved to fish and delighted in his family. He will be sorely missed by all. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE, with Rev. Ken Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Steve Hunter, Tom Meyer, Toney Tramontina, Wayne Garner, Frank Robinson, Marv Daniel and Rick Travelli. Watson -- Hubert Doyle Watson age 79, former Albuquerque resident passed away in the Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari, NM on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 following an extended illness. Hubert Doyle Watson was born April 17, 1922 in Ralls, TX. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years and was retired from being a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari, NM. Surviving Hubert Doyle Watson are three daughters, Donna Begier and husband, Roland of Tucumcari, NM, Darla Harrison and husband, Buddy of Cleveland, TX, Adele Bryan and husband, David of Amarillo, TX; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Hugh Watson of Tucumcari. He is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lucille Watson. Funeral Services will be Saturday morning in the Dunn Memorial Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Graveside Funeral Services following in the Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque, NM at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

White -- Martha G."Geri" White, 61, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2002. She was born in Clovis N.M to J.P."Jerry" and Mary Anthony. She was a resident of Tijeras, NM and a member of the Baptist faith. She worked as a title clerk for University Volkswagen in Albuquerque. She was an avid doll collector and did wonderful needlework making many afghans and counted-cross stitch that she lovingly gave to her family and friends. She also enjoyed bowling and traveling. She was preceded in death by her father, J.P. Anthony; and her stepfather, Robert Backstrom, both in 1994; and her stepmother, Bertha K. Anthony in 1991. Geri is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dick; her three children, Suzanne Bowen and her fiancé, Robert Williams, Shannon Tilseth and her husband, Kelly, all of Albuquerque, and Rick White and his wife, Shana of Virginia; her mother, Mary M. Backstrom of Albuquerque; three granddaughters, Sarah Bowen, Taylor and Jenna White; three grandsons, Matthew Bowen, Tyler and Kyle Tilseth; her brothers, Stan Anthony and his wife, Joann of Layton, Utah, Scott Anthony and his wife, Karen of Clovis, NM; her nieces, Michelle Flagget, Lisa Potter, Carrie Kallgren, Christi Birkhead, and Laura DeMott-Anthony; three nephews; Michael Anthony, Matthew DeMott-Anthony, and Matthew Anthony. She is also survived by many loving great-nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at the Romero Funeral Home Chapel in Belen, New Mexico from 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2002 with her brother Scott Anthony officiating. Young -- Phillip Samuel Young died in his home with his family near him on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. He died of pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 83. He was born in Afton, Iowa on November 4, 1918. As a child he attended school in a one room school house, and later graduated from Afton High School. He attended the University of Iowa for several semesters before returning home to the farm with his father. He married Iris Tyler of Afton in 1942. They made their home alternately in Iowa and Albuquerque until they settled in New Mexico in 1954. Phil was a gifted gardener, and carried his ambitions to the very end, evidenced by his desire to plant a garden this spring. Just last year he sold a bumper crop of organically grown tomatoes at the Growers Market at the Fire Station in the Village of Los Ranchos, on Rio Grande Boulevard. He managed the LDS welfare farm in Grants, NM from 1973 to 1976. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in many leadership positions over the years. He leaves many friends from the LDS Church. His career in Engineering at Sandia Labs spanned more than two decades. Phil retired in 1982 so he and his wife, Iris, could return to Iowa to help his mother, Ethel Young farm her land and care for her until her death in 1986. He has devoted himself to countless genealogical endeavors, including volunteer work at the Genealogical Library on Haines Ave., NE. His main joy in life was his wife, children and grandchildren. Even at the very end, he expressed appreciation and happiness for them as individuals who had found joy and fulfillment in their own lives."Gramps" will be remembered with love by the following family members, brother, John (Lucille) Young; and sister, Pauline (Lynn) Parrott all of Iowa; children, Mark Lyle Young (Joylene Bailey Young) of Heidelberg, Germany; and their four children, Amanda Mefford, Lyle Young, Lindsey Young and Emily Young; Brooke Young Chancellor (George) of Bozeman, Montana; and their daughters, Summer Davidson and Heather Froggit; Devon Young Frost (Greg) of Albuquerque; and their sons, Greg Frost Jr. and Derek Swofford; and Jaynan Young Chancellor (Russ) of Logan, Utah; and their two sons, Hyrum and Ford Chancellor. Phil was preceded in death by both parents. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 29, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1100 Montano Blvd. NW.
