Baca -- Jose Miguel Baca, Jr., 66, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, July 2, 2001. He is survived by his son, Martin Baca and wife, Angel Anaya of Albuquerque; daughter, Tina Jo Baca Acevedo and husband, Jamie of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Martin Baca, Jr. and Andrea Baca; four brothers, Juan Baca, Richard Baca, Robert Baca and Raynaldo Baca; and three sisters, Rita Baca, Soila Baca and Elena Robinson, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Baca was preceded in death by his parents, Jose M. Baca Sr. and Pablito Jaramillo Baca. He was a retired employee of the City of Albuquerque from the Traffic Engineering Department. The family expresses their great appreciation to Clarence Romero and Claudio Aragon. Carlberg -- Carl T. Carlberg, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Sunday, July 1, 2001. He is survived by his son, David Carlberg and wife, Geri of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Janille Hicks and husband, Bill of Albuquerque; brother, John Carlberg of Leaf River, IL; sister, Carin Belt and husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Christine Carlberg, all of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Kelly, Andy, Jeff, Carin, Jennifer, Glen, Stephanie, Kristy and William (Tres); 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including Alan Johnson of Rio Rancho. Mr. Carlberg was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Lucille E. Carlberg. He was a noted New Mexico businessman, whose background included Assistant to the President of Sandia Labs; President and Founder of C.T. Carlberg and Associates, an Electronic Manufacturing Representative established in 1955; and served on the initial TVI Planning Board. Mr. Carlberg was founder of Toastmaster Clubs of Albuquerque and Santa Fe; Charter member and cofounder of the Coronado Club on Sandia Base; national and local board member of Electronic Representatives Association; active from age 12 in HAM Radio W5IH; 60 years as a Mason, Zia Daylight Lodge; pilot; entrepreneur; dedicated Christian and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 55 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and teacher to all. That man is a success, who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it; who looked for the best in others, and gave the best he had. Services will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NE, with Rev. Dale Bauer officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Chavez -- Luga Chavez, 79, went home to the Lord on June 30, 2001. She is the daughter of the late Santiago and Julianita Lucero. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose D. Chavez. She is survived by daughter, Julia Ontiveros; and son, Joe Chavez; grandchildren, Melissa Martinez and husband, Adolph, Joe R. Ontiveros, Barbara Saavedra and husband, Marcos, Anthony Chavez, Josephine Chavez, Margaret Chavez, Tracy Gonzales and husband, Frank; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Frank Lucero. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations for Mrs. Chavez will be held Thursday, July 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the 8th street Chapel at Garcia Mortuary. Dreier -- Lorri Anne Dreier, 31, beloved daughter, sister, and servant of Christ, and a resident of Albuquerque for 25 years, died Saturday, June 30, 2001. She is survived by her mother, Gaylia S. Wade and stepfather, Richard M. Wade of Albuquerque; father, Lorrin Dreier and wife, Kovette of Placitas; brother, Christopher Dreier of Albuquerque; grandmothers, Sylvia S. Garrett of Albuquerque and Doris Dreier of Wichita, KS; aunts, Betsy Garrett of Branson, MO and Mary Wiens and husband, Hal of Lenexa, KS; two cousins; her two stepfamilies; and her beloved pets. Lorri Anne was very atheletic throughout her life and loved to read and be in the outdoors. She was also known for her compassion and assistance to abandoned and unwanted animals. On June 30, Lorri surrendered to an agonizing five-year battle with her physical and emotional illness, which she had fought with courage, faith and Jeremiah 29:11. Eicke -- Darrell Eicke of Espanola, NM, recently hospitalized at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, died on Thursday, June 28, 2001. Darrell was a Navy Veteran of WWII serving aboard an LST in the Pacific Theater. He also served in the Korean War. Darrell Francis Eicke was born December 14, 1923, the son of Floyd and Emily Eicke, at the family farm near Rowley, IA. He is survived by his wife, Anita; two daughters, Cyndia Moore and Patience Davis; and two stepchildren, Robert Robinson and Laurie Pierce. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sally Burke; one stepson; and one grandson; his parents; a sister, Kathleen Fagle; and brothers, Hugh Eicke, and infant, Dale Eicke

Friters -- Margo Drucker died peacefully on July 2, 2001. She was 86 years old. Margo was born on November 14, 1914 in Berlin, Germany. Margo left Germany for France in 1934, where she studied photography, then moved to Rome to join her father who'd left to Germany because of her anti-Hitler activities. She remained in Rome until 1938, when Missouri and Hitler began to round up German expatriates. She fled to Aix-en Provence in southern France, where she lived with a group of painters on a chicken farm. She was arrested by the German puppet government of Vichy and incarcerated for deportation to Poland, in Guers, an internment camp around Marseilles. She remained in the camp for 6 months, and escaped the day before the scheduled deportation to Poland. In 1941, she received permission to immigrate to America, and arranged for passage on a ship leaving Lisbon to New York. She crossed the Spanish border 24 hours before it closed. She did not arrive in Lisbon until after the ship was scheduled to depart, but mercifully found the ship was delayed due to mechanical problem. The trip from Lisbon to New York took 6 weeks, and she arrived in New York City with $10.00 in her pocket. While in New York she met and married Armand Drucker, a German immigrant, and in 1950 had a daughter, Doris Hannah Drucker. In mid 1950, Margo and Doris rejoined Armand in Paris, where they remained until 1960. While in Paris Margo became a well-known photographer, specializing in photographing the leading European painters and other artists of that decade. Many of her photographs were published on the artists' art book jackets. In 1960 Margo and Doris returned to New York, and Margo remained in Nyack, New York until 1975 when she moved to Albuquerque to be close to her daughter and her family. While in New Mexico, Margo had a number of photographic exhibits in local galleries and religious institutions. She leaves behind an extensive portfolio of photographs, which chronicles an era of visual arts in European art, beautiful landscapes of Corsica and France, and many portraits of friends and loved ones taken over her long life. Margo is survived by her daughter, Doris Drucker Duhigg; her son-in-law, John Duhigg; her grandchildren, Charles, Daniel and Katy Duhigg, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is further survived by an abundance of step-relatives, all of whom brought great joy and meaning to her life. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 55, 10:00 a.m. at the Strong-Thorne Mortuary at 1100 Coal Avenue SE. Father Walter Smith of St. Francis Episcopal Church will officiate. Internment will follow the service at the Mount Calvary Cemetery. A Shiva (Jewish memorial) service will be held at the family's home on Thursday evening, July 5, 2001 at 7:00 p.m.

Gutierrez -- Ramon Gutierrez-Domingo peacefully passed into Heaven on June 28, 2001. At the time of his death, loving members of his family surrounded him. He was born to Eligio and Tedorita Perea Gutierrez on January 11, 1908 in Duran, New Mexico. His wife, Alicia, his son Antonio, and son-in-law, Albert Snider, preceded him in death. Mr. Gutierrez retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad where he served as a railroad car inspector. He and his family lived for many years in Vaughn, Dawson, Tucumcari, Belen and most recently Las Cruces, New Mexico. A lifelong Catholic, Mr. Gutierrez was a member of Our Lady of Purification in Las Cruces and Our Lady of Belen Parish in Belen, New Mexico. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Sacred Heart League St. Joseph's Society, the Holy Name and the Blessed Sacrament. He was also a member of the Belen Elks Club. He is survived by his children, Eligio Gutierrez and wife, Marie of Phoenix, Arizona, Raymond Gutierrez and wife, Mary Lee of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joseph Gutierrez and wife, Rosalie of Petaluma, California, David Gutierrez of Belen, New Mexico, Albert Gutierrez and wife, Mary of Grants, New Mexico, Carmen Chavez and husband, Herk of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Connie Silva and husband, Alfonso of San Leandro, California, Mary Alice Snider of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Patricia A. Madrid and husband, Tito of Albuquerque and daughter-in-law, Grace Gutierrez of Las Vegas, New Mexico. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, July 6, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Marmon -- Mr. Fred D. Marmon, 86, a resident of Laguna, NM passed away on July 3, 2001. Mr. Marmon is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-four years, Elizabeth; one daughter, Barbara Marmon and Fiance, Thomas Kohn; two sons, Michael Fox and Fiance, Donna Lucario and David Marmon; his grandchildren, M. Mccolm -- Tod McColm, a resident of Rio Rancho passed away on July 2, 2002. Tod was previously employed with Big J. Enterprises as a pipefitter. He was very passionate about his motorcycles, considered himself a movie buff and loved to cook. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Tod is preceded in death by his father, John McColm. He is survived by his wife, Lauren; his mother, Jean Arthur Gladin and husband, Jim of Sun City West, Arizona; his uncle, Dwight Arthur and wife, Nancy of Kirtland, NM; his aunt, Barbara Molchan and husband, Joe of Wethersfield, UT and many cousins. Muenz -- Steven A. Muenz, age 47, died on July 2, 2001. He was born in Savanna, IL and moved to Albuquerque in 1959 where he graduated from Del Norte High School in 1972. He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Janet Muenz; daughter, Alicia Muenz of Albuquerque; mother, Audrey Millard of Albuquerque; two sisters, Diane Smith of Little Rock, AR, and Peggy Jones of Albuquerque; brother, John Neal of Seattle, WA; and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Ed Muenz and by three brothers, Tony, Harry and Marty. Steve was a very loving father, husband and son. His hobbies and passions were caring for his family, home and prized automobiles. Otero -- Flora M. Otero, 67, a resident of Albuquerque for over 40 years, passed away Monday, July 2, 2001. She was born April 22, 1934, in Las Vegas, NM, the daughter of Frances and Jesus Maese. All those who knew her will remember her laughter, her strength, and her unconditional love. Her greatest enjoyment came from being with family, and of course watching her Dallas Cowboys! Her welcoming arms will be missed by so many. Teachout -- Michelle L. Teachout, age 31, a beloved daughter and cherished twin-sister, joined the Lord on July 2, 2001 with her family at her side. She is survived by her devoted parents, Ann and Tom Teachout; twin sister, Sammy and her fiancé, Arty; grandmother, Mary Huckabee. For the last 16 years she fought her battle for life with amazing grace and dignity and our lives are blessed for having known her. White -- Hazel M. White, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1944, died Monday, July 2, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael W. White of Albuquerque; son, Mickey White and wife, Nancy Lefler of Temple, TX; daughter, Nancy Clark of Corrales; grandchildren, Andrew White, Anne Marie White, both of Temple, TX, Michael Clark of Vail, CO and Christopher Clark and wife, Rebecca; great-grandson, Miles Patric Clark, all of Salt Lake City, UT; and brother, Wilbur Wehrle of Fenimore, WI. Mrs. White taught elementary in a one-room schoolhouse in Wisconsin for several years and later taught in private schools in Albuquerque where she finished her career. She also worked for the National Park Service at Grand Canyon National Park; served as campground host at the Redondo and Jemez Falls campground in the Jemez Mountains. Mrs. White attended the Aquinas Newman Center. She was a supportive wife, loving mother and grandmother. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Rosary will be held Thursday, 6:30 p.m., at Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas NE, with Father Bob Keller, O.P. reciting.
