Casias -- Ramon Casias Sr., 73, passed away September 1, 2000, a native New Mexican, he served in the US Army. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Casias; brother-in-law, Ramon Chavez; and special friend, Elizabeth Longly. He is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Mary C. Jaramillo; children, Lillian Gomez and husband, Frank, Dolores Valdez and husband, Arthur, Raymond Casias Jr. and wife, Robin, Sharon Casias, Carlos Casias and wife, Connie, Riena Casias-Sanchez, Carol Lucero, Eva Casias, Ray Anthony Casias; nine step-children; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Silva, Tina Gonzales and husband, Simon, Carol Gonzales and husband, Frank, Leandra Aceves and husband, Manuel; numerous other family and special friends who loved and will miss him. Casner -- Domenica Casner, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, August 31, 2000. Mrs. Casner is survived by her children, Christine Hyland and husband, Patrick of Villa Park, IL, Frank Casner and wife, Sharon of Albuquerque, Lorraine Murray and husband, J.D. of Raton, NM, and Michael Casner and wife, Ava of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren, Kathleen, Patrick, Jennifer, Christopher, Kimberly, Jeffery, Kelly, Joshua, Jeremy and Christie; three brothers, Phillip, Tony and Frank; four sisters, Rose, Josie, Anna and Mary. She was preceded in death by husband, Frank; and brother, Sal. Mrs. Casner was a member of the Sangre de Cristo Church. Chavez -- 1920-2000 Rose G. Chavez, 79, a resident of Veguita, passed away Friday, September 1, 2000, surrounded by her loving family. Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vidal Chavez in 1995; and her sister, Carmen Trujillo in 1993. She is survived by her children, Albert Chavez and Mary Ann Abeyta of Veguita, Sarah Martinez and husband, Felipe of Meadow Lake, Tina Romero and husband, Eduardo of Tome, Prescilla Gonzales and husband, Bob of Belen, Debbie Pappas and husband, Asimikas of Rio Communities, Larry Chavez and wife, Valerie of Belen, and Barbara Candelaria of Los Lunas; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Ernie Peralta and husband, Flavio of Pico Rivera, CA; her brothers, Julian Gutierrez and wife, Roselyn of Richmond, CA, Tony Chavez and wife, Felia of Montebello, CA, Arturo Gutierrez and wife, Mary Lou of Rosemead, CA, George Gutierrez and wife, Clorinda of Barstow, CA, and Colbert Gutierrez and wife, Mary Lou of Bellflower, CA; a special brother-in-law, Horacio Trujillo; her special niece, Selma Martinez; and many loving nieces and nephews. Chavis -- Stan Chavis, 58, died August 31, at home after fighting a long battle with alcoholism. He is survived by his wife, Roseanna Harrison; daughter, Stacey Chavis of Portland, OR; brother, Robert Chavis of Longbranch, NJ; cousins, Judy and Bill Hensley of Ada, OK; aunt, Mary Bavis of Ada, OK; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Bob Hoder and wife, Jackie, Roger Hendler, and Ross Miesem and wife, Mary. Stan graduated from Temple University with a Bachelors degree in Marketing in 1961 and he won an award in"Signs of the Time" magazine for his design of the Lieber's Luggage sign. He also designed the Reidling's Music Store sign, which was the shape of a grand piano. He enjoyed drawing cartoon caricatures. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Dearholt -- Evelyn Isabelle Dearholt, age 68, and a resident of Placitas, died on August 31, 2000. She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild and is survived by six children, Linda Malloy and husband, Ray of Rio Rancho, John R. Dearholt and wife, Jennifer of Ohio, Jim D. Dearholt and wife, Tara of Albuquerque, David L. Dearholt and wife, Jodie of Pennsylvania, Charles E. Blount of Colorado, and Cynthia Davis of Albuquerque; a sister, Joycelyn Sue Lynd of Rochester, NY; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Delara -- Florinda G. Delara, a resident of Placitas, NM, passed away following an illness. She was born March 10, 1902 and passed away September 1, 2000. She was preceded in death be her husband, Antonio Delara; five sons; three sisters; three brothers; two daughters-in-law; four grandsons; and three granddaughters. She is survived by four sons, Max Delara and wife, Esther, Alonzo Delara and wife, Beth, James Delara and wife, Beverly, and Bert Delara and wife, Rosemary; four daughters, Jane Denney, Viola Duran and husband, Bernie, Darlene Miller and husband, Raymond, and Lillian Perez. Also surviving are 42 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may visit today, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Chapel of the Alameda Mortuary. An evening service will be conducted this evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Las Placitas Presbyterian Church in Placitas. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church, with interment to follow at the Las Huertas Cemetery. Fowler -- Mrs. Georgia Fowler, born to Andrew and Estella Snow, on January 29, 1921, died August 25, 2000 at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by husbands, Paul D. Clark and Karl Fowler. Mrs. Fowler is survived by her close companion, Wilbur Miles; daughters, Sandra Brooks, Pattie Eschenberger and her husband, Eldon, Pamela Frazier and her husband, Perry; sister, Cathryn Robinett; brother, Nathaniel Snow and his wife, Rene; grandchildren, Stephanie Brooks, Lana Childs, Trina Tiner, Karri Wheeler, Brad Frazier and Valerie Frazier; several nieces and nephews. Gerk -- Virginia Lee Gerk, 74, died at her home in San Antonio, New Mexico after a brief bout with recurring cancer. Virginia Lee Wooten was born in Trinidad, Colorado on March 28, 1926. She married Ralph Gerk on October 2, 1943. They spent many years making their living at a dairy farm north of Storrie Lake near Las Vegas, New Mexico. In 1961, they moved to Albuquerque, where they both were employed by Presbyterian Hospital until their retirement. Ralph Gerk passed away on April 9, 1990. Virginia moved to San Antionio, New Mexico in 1991, where she had resided ever since. Virginia Gerk is survived by four children, Betty Harris and husband, Herb of Santa Fe, Bill Gerk and wife, Lois of San Antonio, NM, Ray Gerk and wife, Michelle of Kennewick, WA, John Gerk and wife, Laurise of La Mesa, CA; seven grandchildren and eight-great-grandchildren; her brother, Clayton Wooten and wife, Sarah of Las Cruces, NM, as well as many nieces and nephews on both the Gerk and Wooten sides of the family. A Memorial service to celebrate the full and rich lives of both Ralph and Virginia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2000 at Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, where they are both interred. Gideon -- Janice Gideon, age 70, of Dardanelle, Arkansas, widow of J.C. Gideon, died Friday, September 1, 2000 at the Dardanelle Hospital. Mrs. Gideon was born August 22, 1930 in Dardanelle, Arkansas to the late Seth Murray and Maude M. Sturdevant Murdock. She was a retired Document Examiner for the Arkansas Department of Health, a 1952 graduate of Harding College, and a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ. Survivors are two sisters, Zeta Abrahamson of Albuquerque and Tiny Grimes of McKinney, TX; and several nephews and nieces. Services will be Monday, September 4, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at the Dardanelle Church of Christ. Interment will be in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardenelle. Visitation will be open. Active and honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of the Dardanelle Church of Christ. Hammock -- Maxine Clariece Hammock, 84, a resident of Albuquerque for 67 years, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2000, at Sandia Springs Assisted Living Facility. Her husband, Alton, and her daughter, Loraine were at her side. Maxine is survived by Alton, her husband of 64 years; her son, Glen; and her daughter, Loraine. Other survivors include granddaughters, Gloria Sands, Patricia Littell, and Sally Garcia; two great-granddaughters, Jesica Sands and Vanesa Garcia; one great-great-granddaughter, Samantha Rodgers; brothers, Walter, Wayne, Hilton and Ellis Wilson and their families; sister, Lola Davis; sister-in-law, Lillian. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and by her brother, Lloyd Wilson. Maxine was born on May 30, 1916 in Meeker, CO to Blair and Elsie Wilson. She grew up on a ranch in Meeker and lived there until the family moved to Albuquerque in 1933. Maxine graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1934. She married Alton Hammock in 1936 and was a homemaker for 64 years. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and working in her yard. Friends looked forward to Maxine's Christmas boxes filled with her homemade canned pears and peaches, bread, cookies, and candies. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Paul Gleason officiating. Entombment will follow at Chester T. Hay -- George Brown Hay, 96, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Wednesday, August 30, 2000. He is survived by his son, David George Hay and wife, Pam of Ontario, CA; daughters, Sandra Westerfeld and husband, Norman of Albuquerque, and Shareen Gray and husband, Pete of Irving, TX; seven grandchildren, Norman Westerfeld, Jr. and wife, Vicki, Cal Dean Herron and wife, Liz, Cindie Corvin and husband, Chris, Mark Hay and wife, Debbie, Boyd Hay, JoAnna Welsh and husband, John, and Cheryl Morgan and husband, Mike; 15 great-grandchildren, Norman, III, Jared, Michelle, Jacob, Nathan, Alexander, Will, Esther, Taylor, Tyler, Kelly, Glenna, Denelle, Trenda and Garrett; brother, Thomas Hay; sisters, Margaret Hay Roper and Mary Hay Torquato. Mr. Hay was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nelle Lucille Voorhees Hay; and his great-grandson, Cal Dean Herron, Jr. Mr. Hay immigrated to northern New Mexico in 1909, with his parents and three siblings from Kilwinning, Scotland. In 1941, Mr. Hay became a citizen of the United States. He started working at the age of 12 and retired at 82. Mr. Hay worked as a coal miner in Van Houten, Koehler and Dawson, New Mexico for 27 years. He also worked for KL House Construction Co. in Albuquerque for 39 years. Mr. Hay took care of his beloved wife,"Nan" for eight years before her death in November of 1994. He left this world a better place because of hard work, unconditional love, devotion, kindness and patience. George was the sweetest man any of us ever knew and we will always miss him all of our lives. He is at peace with God and happy because he is strolling through the heather with the only woman he ever loved, Nan. Services will be held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE., and with Chaplain Larry Wills officiating. Wearing of your Tartan or plaid is encouraged. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Lujan -- Julian Lujan, 89, of Pecos, died at home on Wednesday, August 30, 2000 after a short illness. Julian was born on February 20, 1911 in Los Alamoitos, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cesario and Emilia Lujan; brothers, Manuel, Jose, Conrado, Cesario Jr.; sisters, Josefita Lujan-Dalton, Julianita Lujan-Maes. Julian, at age 9, helped to construct the Pecos Fish Hatchery and he worked in the mines at Terrero until being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1940. He served during WWII and following his discharge in 1945, he worked in the mining industry. In 1953, the family moved to Santa Fe, and in 1955, moved to Pecos, where he had since resided. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the La Union Protectiva, of which his uncle, Tranquilino Lujan was a founding member. Mr. Lujan served as mayordomo of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in El Macho, NM. He was also active in the Democratic Party. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia V. Lujan; sons, Oscar J. Lujan, Joseph C. Lujan and wife, Linda, Arthur G. Lujan and wife, Emily, Francisco Lujan and wife, Rosemary, Tony R. Lujan and wife, Yolanda; daughters, Yvonne Roybal and husband, Guillermo, Maria Lujan Sena and husband, Joseph; grandchildren, Shawna Garcia and husband, Kenny, Eric J. Hern, Gabriel G. Lujan, Daniel F. Lujan Arthur Ray Lujan, Juliana Lujan, Estrella Lujan; great-grandchildren, Estevan Roybal, Jasmine Garcia; sisters, Frances Sanchez, Ramona Trujillo; sister-in-law, Eluteria (Teddie) Cannon and husband, Carl; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives. Molinar -- Sylvia Molinar, 61, passed away at Lovelace Medical Center, September 1, 2000, after a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Pickard -- Eula Pickard, beloved wife, mom, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2000. Survivors include her son, Griff and wife, Katy of Santa Fe and Michael of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael and Vicki Marra of Albuquerque, Griffin and Jeni Pickard of Laguna Hills, CA, and Juliette and Jeff Watson of Albuquerque; great-grandsons, Nathaniel and Lucas Watson. Other survivors include her sister, Elsie Keys; niece, Judy and husband, Lloyd Strosneider; great-nieces, Jenny and Ryley Farrell; nephew, Phil Pickard and her longtime companion, Leigh Wright; many dear friends, including Richard Rede, Eileen Montoya, her caregiver, as well as many great-nieces, nephews, step-sisters and sister-in-law, Helen Lackner. Eula was born in Malone, Alabama on November 2, 1916. She and her devoted husband,"Pick", who preceded her in death, lived in Albuquerque for many years. Pick worked for Sandia Labs and later they owned Pick's Sandwich Shop on Wyoming. Eula will be remembered for her deep faith, sunny disposition, tremendous courage and adorable sense of humor. She was truly devoted to her family and friends, and to her Lord. She was an amazing example of cheerful suffering during her long illness. She will be greatly missed, but leaves a beautiful legacy for us to follow. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church for over 40 years and an avid gardener and lovely seamstress. Rogers -- In the quiet, still, middle hours of the night, we were gathered in a"watch of love" around the bedside of our beloved"Mother Moo." The sorrow was great, but the love was greater still, as the heart of our lives stopped, free from the bonds of earth. This precious mother, wife, sister and friend is receiving now, in full measure, pressed down and overflowing, the reward of her abundant love, so freely given away for her lifetime. This heritage of love and generosity is the trust given to the daughters of Alfreda Bailey Rogers, who was born May 13, 1927 in Paragould, AR. Married to our father, William Alfred Rogers, for 43 years, they created a secure and loving home environment in which to grow. Daddy preceded her in death, January 30, 1990. He then passed the care of the"home fires" to Mother. Alfreda was also preceded in death by her father, mother, a sister, and half-brother. Mother is survived by four daughters, Leslie Gail Michaelson and her husband, Monte of Okeene, OK, Jo Alison Serrano and her husband, Marty, Phyllis Jean Lermuseaux and her husband, Kurt, and Robin Lynn Martin of the Albuquerque area; grandchildren, Loryn Leigh Bowen, Dana Jo Kellner, Jason and Amy Lermuseaux, Kyle William and Rachel Ann Martin; great-grandchildren, Madeline Paige and Aaron Thomas, and Barry Martin. Sanchez -- Mrs. Stella R. Sanchez, 85, dear mother and cherished friend, passed away on August 31, at her home with her family. Stella is survived by her son, Roberto and wife, Vera; her daughters, Priscilla Boatright and husband, Dan, Esther Sury, Gloria Vasquez and husband, Paul, Celina Garcia and husband, Gerald; seven grandchildren, Lois Sury-Gerkey and husband, Steve, Tina Villegas and husband, Ramon, Robert Sanchez, Mark Vasquez, Andrew Vasquez, Susan Garcia, and Danny Garcia; two great-grandchildren, Silvia and Stephanie Vasquez; one brother, Gaspar Rodarte; two sisters, Angie Mullins and Elsie Verdi. Stella joins her beloved husband, Emilio; and son, Emilio Jr. who preceded her in death. She will be missed greatly. Seagers -- Alice H. Seagers, 94, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, August 31, 2000. She is survived by her son, Raymond H. Seagers of Edgewood; grandsons, Raymond H. Seagers III of Ft. Collins, CO, Patrick C. Seagers of Athens, GA and Stuart J. Seagers of Lubbock, TX; granddaughter, Stephanie M. Seagers of Edgewood; sister, Edna Ruckle of Trafford, PA; nieces, Bonnie Mack of Cleveland, OH, Barbara Greenleaf of Murraysville, PA and Alice Jane Serra of Trafford, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Seagers in 1978. Mrs. Seagers was born in Espy, PA. She and Mr. Seagers reared their family in Atlanta, GA. They moved to Albuquerque in 1977 to be near their son. Services will be held Sunday, September 3, 2000, 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas. Turner -- 1923-2000 Wilburn H. Turner"Mutt" Turner, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2000. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Turner is survived by his son, Larry Turner and wife, Brenda of Dumas, TX; two daughters, Jerry DeBellis and husband, Ben of Colorado and Terri Wilson and husband, Dave of Los Lunas; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many close friends. Wyatt -- Elizabeth Wyatt, better known as Liz, born October 18, 1912, on a farm in Meade County, KS, to Herman and Minnie Winter Wyatt. Liz suddenly went to be with Jesus on August 16, 2000 in Albuquerque, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved younger brother, Donald. Liz taught school in a one room country schoolhouse during the Great Depression. She moved to New Mexico in 1950 after she was widowed and had regarded Albuquerque as her true home of the heart, as she had spent many, happy years here. Liz fondly remembers her many wonderful friends and acquaintances. In later years, she traveled far, to Europe and South America. She had lived in Florida and in New Jersey, where she lived with her only child. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Sharon, Upper Montclair, NJ; two brothers, Fred Wyatt, Kansas City, MO and Calvin Wyatt, Portland, OR. Cremation has occurred, and a private service and interment was held in Kansas with her family.
