Mrs. Stella R. Sanchez, 85, dear mother and cherished friend, passed away on August 31, at her home with her family. Stella is survived by her son, Roberto and wife, Vera; her daughters, Priscilla Boatright and husband, Dan, Esther Sury, Gloria Vasquez and husband, Paul, Celina Garcia and husband, Gerald; seven grandchildren, Lois Sury-Gerkey and husband, Steve, Tina Villegas and husband, Ramon, Robert Sanchez, Mark Vasquez, Andrew Vasquez, Susan Garcia, and Danny Garcia; two great-grandchildren, Silvia and Stephanie Vasquez; one brother, Gaspar Rodarte; two sisters, Angie Mullins and Elsie Verdi. Stella joins her beloved husband, Emilio; and son, Emilio Jr. who preceded her in death. She will be missed greatly. Visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be held on Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., in the Salazar & Sons Mortuary Chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Monday evening, 7:00 p.m., at St. Therese Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Sanchez will be held on Tuesday at St. Therese Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Dan Boatright, Paul Vasquez, Gerald Garcia, Robert Sanchez, Danny Garcia and Danny Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Gerkey and Ramon Villegas. Contributions may be made to UNM Hospice. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
