Armijo -- Fannie (Stefania) Mlekush-Armijo (Mann), 89, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2000. She was born April 10, 1910 in Pluzna, Austria to Mathais Anton Mlekush and Elizabeth Roth-Mlekush. She loved her garden, especially her roses, iris and dahlias. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an inspiration to her family and friends. She never met a stranger. Edwards -- Charles H."Dobie" Edwards, age 76, a resident of Edgewood, died February 22, 2000. He is survived by his daughters, Edith E. Seaton of Albuquerque and Lynne Cox of Tijeras; son, Robert W. Edwards of Lewisville, TX; sister, Maryann Elkins of Snow Flake, AZ; brothers, Harold, Grover, Richard and Bronie Edwards; and five grandchildren. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Lois E. Edwards, who died May 18, 1991. He served his country with the U.S. Navy in WWII. Mr. Edwards was involved in Estancia Lodge #33 AM & AM, Scottish Rite, Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple,"The Patrol","Loco Patrol","Directors Staff", Oso Negro Teocali #44, Order of Quetzalcoatl, Initiated"Coate", 4-16-96, Albuquerque,"Artisan" 10-11-96, Reno, NV,"Master Artisan" 10-11-96, Reno, NV, a retired truck driver, he also owned"Dobie's Back Hoe Service." Feeney -- John M. Feeney, age 77, of Niceville, Florida died Monday, February 21, 2000 at Twin Cities Hospital from complications following an extended illness. John was a Special Agent (retired) for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. His career with the FBI spanned 26 years in Michigan, New Mexico and Alabama. Born in Pennsylvania, in 1923, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was a"Shipwrecked Sailor of the South Seas", having survived sinking of the Lexington during the battle of the Coral Sea. Prior to entering duty with the FBI and after the war, John graduated from Indiana University of PA and taught high school for a short period. During his career with the FBI John served in the Albuquerque, Detroit and Mobile Divisions with duty in the Battle Creek, MI and Tucumcari, NM resident agencies. After he retired from the FBI in Albuquerque, John continued working in the investigative field for 19 years and was associated with the FBI's BICS program until last year when poor health forced him to quit working. John and his wife Gail lived in Albuquerque from 1977 until their move to Niceville, Florida in 1997. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Gail; sons, Christopher Feeney of Martinez, GA and Mike Feeney of Chandler, AZ; daughter, Patricia Mauer of New Orleans, LA and step-son, Scott McAda of Niceville, FL. Eight grandchildren also survive. A private memorial gathering for friends and family will be held at a later date in Niceville. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.

Frame -- Gwenavere B. Frame passed away from this life into the arms of her Lord on February 18, 2000. Now she can see the Light! She was born on November 26 1920 in Quincy, Illinois to Clinton and Neva Barnhart. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Eldon B. Frame of Albuquerque; her sons, Terrance Frame and wife, Kathryn of Albuquerque, Dr. Scott Frame and wife, Joyce of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Melinda and Craig Frame; sister, Virgene Friday of Jacksonville, IL; and nieces and nephews. Gwen will be remembered through her faith and devotion to her church, Faith Lutheran, as well as her service in the community. Gwen belonged to both the Cosmopolitan and Sanado Womens' Clubs, where her volunteer work extended itself to such organizations as Albuquerque Hearing and Speech Center, Albuquerque Museum, Casa Esperanza, Carrie Tingley Childrens' Hospital, and El Centro Villa Nursing Home. Her service and participation in these philanthropies will be greatly missed, but her love and commitment to her friends and her family are her greatest legacy. We will miss you, Gwen. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. A Memorial will take place at Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 26, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gwen Frame Memorial Fund at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111, or a charity of your choice. Hess -- Florence"Mitzi" Hess, age 88 and a resident of Albuquerque, died on February 20, 2000. She was born in Tuscola, IL to John A. and Anna Kauffman Mitsdarffer on September 28, 1911. She lived in Alamogordo for 42 years before moving to Albuquerque in 1997. Mrs. Hess was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ulysses W. Hess on March 27, 1999. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Mitchell and husband, Mark of Ruby, Alaska; a son, John Hess and wife, Mary Anne of Albuquerque, NM; four brothers, Mark, Clarence, Paul and Wilbur Mitsdarffer; four grandchildren, Mary Louise Mitchell, John A. hess and wife, Michelle, Patrick Hess and wife, Denise, Deborah Eberhart and husband, Andrew; and two great-grandchildren, Hope Hess and Zachary Hess. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2000 at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Father Richard Olona as Celebrant. Hesselden -- Donald R. was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 15, 1921, the fourth son of J.W. Hesselden and Josephine Young Hesselden. At the time of his death, on February 13, 2000, he lived in Rio Rancho, NM with his wife, Elizabeth. He was a veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart in Normandy. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended the University of New Mexico. For many years he was a general contractor with Adrian R."Mickey" Hesselden, one of his older brothers, in the construction of houses, school and office buildings all over New Mexico. He was a former president of the Associated General Contractors of New Mexico. His youngest sister, Josephine H. Ladd, his brother, George W."Buddy" Hesselden, and Jack Hesselden predeceased him. Besides his widow, he is survived by his son, Kurt, his wife, Vivian; his daughter, Sylvia; and his son, Rick; his grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Mickey Hesselden, his wife Eva; his twin sisters, Rita Green and Patricia Hickman and B. B. Hickman, her husband; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. At his request his cremains have been committed privately and there will be no services.

Kelly -- Shirley L. Kelly, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 22 years, died Tuesday, February 22, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph J. Kelly of Albuquerque; daughters, Sheila C. Enyart and husband, Robert of Radcliff, KY, Andrea Gail Kelly of Woodstock, IL and Donna S. Fuller and husband John of Riverside, CA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Marian Goss, and Sallie Goebel and husband, Paul; and brothers, Robert T. Johnson and wife, Kay and Roger D. Johnson and wife, Sheila. Mrs. Kelly received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of St. Teresa in Minnesota. She was a Registered Dietician who served in many hospitals. Mrs. Kelly was an active bridge player and also took special pride in her knitting and needlework. She especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Deacon Bob Lewis officiating.

Lopez -- J. Joseph Lopez, electrical engineer and civic leader, passed away February 21, 2000 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Marron; five children and their spouses, Owen and Vicki of Santa Fe, Jay and Inge of San Diego, Kathy and Paul, Floyd and Susan of Albuquerque, and Tim and Ronda also of Santa Fe. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; by his sister, Mary Neuburger of Las Cruces; his brother and sister-in-law, Al and Ivy of Point Pleasant, NJ; sister-in-law, Mime Lopez of Crofton, MD; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Lopez was born February 6, 1913 in Newark, New Jersey, graduated from Rutgers University in 1937, and was employed by AT&T until 1949 when he began working for Reynolds Electric Company in the capacity of the first manager of the Nevada Test Site. In 1956, he founded his own electrical consulting engineering firm, Uhl & Lopez, which served clients both nationally and internationally, with particular emphasis on the National Laboratories and the Mountain Bell system. He retired in 1992 after transferring his company to Holmes & Narver. During his distinguished career, Mr. Lopez received various merit awards for his work. He served on the board and was President of the Society of Professional Engineers of New Mexico. As a civic leader, he served on the board and as President of the Albuquerque Rotary Club, on the board and as President of the N.M. Symphony Orchestra, on the board of the United Way and co-chaired one year's fund drive, co-chaired the fund drive to build the Jemez Mountain Camp for the Girl Scouts of America, and served on the boards of the Maternal and Child Health Council, Casa Angelica, and the Albuquerque chapters of the American Red Cross and Easter Seals. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Knight of St. Gregory. Mr. Lopez was interested in education, encouraging his children and his grandchildren in their academic pursuits as a priority. He served on the board of trustees of the Albuquerque Academy and, upon retirement, enrolled in classes at UNM and St. Johns College, concentrating in a liberal arts curriculum outside his professional disciplines. Mr. Lopez was also an avid golfer, skier and snowshoer and was known for his lengthy hikes in the mountains of N.M. and Colorado. A Memorial Mass will be said by Father Al McBride on Friday, February 25, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, in Albuquerque. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charities of choice.

Maes -- T. R. Maes, 65, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died Tuesday, February 22, 2000. He was born in Maes, NM on December 28, 1934 to Manuel and Margarita Maes. Mr. Maes is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sue A. Maes; sons, Ted R. Maes and wife, Valerie and Robert A. Maes; grandsons, Traxler and Tyler Maes, all of Albuquerque; seven sisters; two brothers; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. The family extends a special thank you to his sister Peggy Wright and her husband, Cal for all their love and care. Mr. Maes was employed at General Electric for 29 years, and after his retirement he was employed by French Mortuary. He was an avid Aggie and Lobo fan and was a great supporter of the Republican Party. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Rev. Lemuel M. Boyles officiating. Moulton -- Ethel V. Moulton, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, died Wednesday, February 23, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Irvin L. Moulton of Albuquerque; daughters, Diane Kyriss of El Paso, TX; Kay Griffin and husband, Larry of Belen; sons, Kenneth V. Moulton and wife, Abby; Roger Moulton and wife, Kathy, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jennifer Schultz and husband, Keith of Castlerock, CO, Erin Elise Moulton of Aurora, CO, David Griffin and Amanda Griffin, both of Belen, Christopher Moulton, Michele Moulton and Corey Moulton, all of Albuquerque; great-granddaughter, Mikayla Moulton; and sister, Beatrice Askim of Aurora, CO. Owens -- N. Juanita Owens, 84, passed away in her sleep on February 22, 2000. She was born on December 26, 1915 to Edgar Penn Kimbrough and Maude Byrd in New Edinburgh, Arkansas. She married Virgil Richard Owens who preceded her in death in 1979. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pebble Orchid. A twenty year resident of Albuquerque, Mrs. Owens is survived by her children, Sandy R. Owens and Ken Owens and wife, Marilyn; granddaughters, Allison Hagerman and husband, Matthew and Kerry Owens. Perkins -- Phillip Jefferson Perkins, 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2000, at the Veterans Hospital. He was born in Lexington, KY, the son of the late Orah D. and Anna Belle Perkins. Phillip was educated in Lexington, KY schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Phillip has been disabled for the past twenty years. He loved music and was a vocalist in a local band in Lexington, KY. Phillip was the manager of several retail apparel stores; Embry¯s in Lexington, KY, Harris¯ in California and Hubbard¯s in Albuquerque. Phillip is survived by his sister, Dorothy Perkins Lazarus and husband, Eugene; nieces, Patricia L. Coughenour and husband, Larry and their daughter, Ann Marie Donald and her daughter, Emily Rose Donald, and Barbara Jean Lazarus; nephew, Michael S. Lazarus and his children, Michael Jon Lazarus, Nathan E. Lazarus and Jillian Lazarus, all of Albuquerque; and cousins, Robert Berry and William Berry, both of Lexington, KY. Quintana -- Vivian G. Quintana, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, February 22, 2000. She is survived by her loving daughter, Olga Quintana Anson and husband, Dick of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Elvira Cobos (Ruben) and Emmie Segura (Joseph); and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Vivian was born in Ranchos de Taos, NM, the daughter of Bernardita and Juan Garcia. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Juan I. Duran. Vivian attended the University of Denver and University of New Mexico. Her career was in accounting and finance for over 30 years, with the Army Corps of Engineers. Her work sent her to Saudia Arabia. Vivian enjoyed her travels to Italy, London, Greece, and throughout the United States. She spoke four languages. Vivian was a devout member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Friday, 6:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Deacon Tom Jones reciting. The rosary will be followed by visitation with the family at the mortuary. Work -- Ralph Christopher"Cris" Work, 48, died Tuesday, February 15, 2000. Cris was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and graduated from Sandia High School in 1969. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rowena P. Work. Survivors include his father, Ralph O. Work and step-mother, Lynn; four sisters, Marla Romano, Laurie Mitchell and husband, Gerald, Wendy Palencia and husband, Joe, Tracy Kolk and husband, Frank; nieces, Jackie Vachon, Rachel, Megan and Sara Kolk; and a nephew, Jonathan Vachon. An informal memorial service to remember Cris will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 26, 2000, at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano NW. Cris will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
