Arviso -- Pablita Marie Katherine Arviso-Cadman (Sunshine), age 23, passed away October 27, 2000, in To'Hajiilee, Exit 131 (Canoncito) NM. She was a lifelong resident of Canoncito Navajo Reservation and a mother of two children, Joslyn, four, and Tristian, five months old. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Cadman; mother, Rosita Chicharello; father, Marvin Chicharello; six brothers, Chet Arviso, Ted Arviso, Thompson Arviso, Dominic Chicharello III, Marvin Chicharello Jr. and George Chicharello; and stepchildren, Briana May Cadman, ten, and Sheldon Clif Cadman, nine. Funeral Services will be held at Canoncito Miracle Church of God at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2000. Burial will follow at a private cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2000 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Cummings -- Wilma B."Billye" Cummings, age 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Tuesday. She was preceded in death by three daughters, Leslie Cummings of Enid, OK, Shiela Hutton of Albuquerque, Marsha Blanchard of Carny, OK; her parents, Edwin and Bernice Gee of Lahoma, OK. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Verlin D. Cummings; son, Verlin D. Cummings Jr.,; 3 brothers, Bob Gee and wife, Clara, Merle Gee and wife, Norma, Jack Gee and wife, Judy; two grandchildren, Kirk Blanchard of Norman, OK, Lee Blanchard of Albuquerque; numerous nephews and cousins. Mrs. Cummings was a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary Post 401, a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 99, a longtime member of the German-American Edwlweiss Club. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery

Davenport -- Katherine (Kay) R. Davenport, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away suddenly on January 24, 2000. Born in Green Island, New York on January 22, 1919, she is survived by her daughter, Liz Davenport and Liz's husband, Robert H. Tierney of Albuquerque; step-son, David Lee Davenport and his wife, Judy Lynne Davenport of Cedar Crest; one sister, Frances Hughes of Glens Falls, New York; and one brother, Thomas Rootes of Troy, New York. Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Leo Parnell Davenport, who passed away in 1993; her first husband, First Lieutenant John E. Titterington, who died in service to his country in the Central Pacific in 1944; two brothers, Harold and Joseph Rootes; and her parents. Following graduation from high school in Troy, New York, Kay worked as a medical secretary and a laboratory assistant. In 1943, she journeyed overseas with the Red Cross and served in England during the later part of the German Blitz, moving on to Europe around the time of the Normandy invasion. After the war, Kay worked as a civilian employee for the Department of the Army, including an assignment to General MacArthur's occupation forces in the Pacific. She then worked for General Beiderlinden in Tokyo, Japan until 1950. In 1952, Kay traveled to Austria, where her husband was stationed, and there she served as secretary to the Post Commander at Camp McCauley in Linz. Until 1960, Kay and her husband were stationed at several bases in the U.S. and abroad. The family then moved to Albuquerque in 1960, and Kay worked for the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce from 1969 to 1972. In 1972, she began her 25-year tenure with the State Bar of New Mexico, where she retired in 1996. As a well-respected and loved employee of the State Bar, Kay was honored with three"distinguished service" awards in 1982, 1987 and 1996. The memorial service for Kay will be held on Saturday, January 29th at noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, followed by a memorial gathering at the Davenport home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that friends remember Kay by planting a pink rose bush in her honor; or contributions may be sent to the Marianist Mission (1-800-348-4732).

Harban -- Robert (Bob) C. Harban, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2000. He was born on March 12, 1913 in Chicago, IL of Hammond Harban and Edith Duguid Harban. He graduated from NM Tech in Socorro in 1942 and worked as a plant superintendent with the American Smelting & Refining Co. until his retirement in 1975. His wife, Ruth (Bursum Paxton) Harban; and a brother, Arthur Harban, preceded him in death. He is survived by his step-son, David O. Paxton and wife, Nancy of Albuquerque; one brother, John Harban and wife, Vivian of Orland Park, IL; step-grandchildren, Deborah C. Antonucci, Mark E. Paxton and Matthew R. Paxton; and Pat Mainetti, a long time companion. If friends desire, they may contribute to the New Mexico Alzheimer's Association, 1330 San Pedro NE, Albuquerque 87110. No services are planned.

Hooser -- Anna Katherine Hooser passed away in her home in Las Vegas, NV, Thursday, January 20, 2000. She was a longtime resident of Los Alamos. Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Edd Hooser. She is survived by three children, Anna A. Downs of Las Vegas, NV, Melvin Hooser of Goleta, CA and Edwina Matthews of White Rock, NM; nephew, James"Buddy" Elgin of Cincinnati, OH; niece, Sandra Walker of Hopkinsville, KT. She is also survived by grandchildren, Cheryl, Michelle, Wendy, Laura, Brenda, Kevin and Travis; and great-grandchildren, Brandy, Sarah, Ben, Samantha, Kyle, Forrest, Bryton, John and Walt.God saw that she was getting tired. And a cure was not to be . So he put his arms around her And whispered"come home to me." With tearful eyes we watched her suffer And saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, A determined spirit was at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.Funeral Services were held in Las Vegas, NV, and burial will be in Las Cruces, NM. Kudo -- With his family at his side, Dr. Albert M."Bert" Kudo peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Marge Kudo of the family home; daughter, Alyssa K. Nunez and husband, David and their daughter, Casia and second child expected in August, daughter, Shana L. Buckley and husband, Brian and their daughter, Mikayla; sister, Mae Arima of Seattle, WA; brothers, George Akira Kudo and wife, Mary of Washington and Minoru Kudo and wife, Judy of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Kudo is also survived by his thousands of students whom he dearly loved and who remember him for his kindness, sense of humor and love for life. Dr. Kudo received a Bachelor's of applied Science degree with first class honors from the University of Toronto in 1960. He received a Masters of Science degree in geology from McMaster University in 1962 and a PhD degree in Earth Sciences from the University of California in 1967. Dr. Kudo was a beloved professor in the University of New Mexico's Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences for 33 years. With his unique, humor-filled teaching method, Bert introduced thousands of UNM undergraduates to geology in his introductory course. His research of volcanoes and igneous rocks took him all over the world and he authored over 100 articles and abstracts. Bert was a member of the Geological Society of American, the American Geophysical Union, and the Geochemical Society. He was also a member of the Advisory Council for the Northwest Regional Science Fair and served as Master Judge Chair. Upon Dr. Kudo's retirement in the fall of 1999, Albuquerque's mayor, Jim Baca, proclaimed Friday, December 3, 1999, as professor Albert M. Kudo Day. He was an avid runner, active in many sports, and loved the outdoors. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna NE, with Pastor Marsh Shamburger officiating. Lucero -- Cora M. Lucero, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 27, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Alice Parras and husband, Louie, Theresa Gonzales and fiance, Robert Montano; her son, Ray Lucero; step-daughter, Lucy Martinez. Also surviving are two sisters, Margaret and Sadie Romero and husband, Toby; seven grandchildren, Lawrence and wife, Gloria, Jimmy, Johnny, Mark, Joseph; great-grandchildren Aaron, Michael, Patricia and husband, Freddie, Nadine and husband, Dominic, and Valerie; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Cora was known as Little Grandma,"Little package of love". She loved her Spanish heritage and loved posing for pictures, she always looked for the good in all people and was a life member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday, January 30th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Alameda Chapel. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Interment will follow at the San Carlos Cemetery. Pagni -- Florence M. Pagni, 92, a resident of Cedar Crest, died Friday, January 28, 2000. Mrs. Pagni is survived by her daughters, Billie Cooper of Albuquerque and Donna Knepper and husband, Jerry of Cedar Crest; grandchildren, Wendy Cooper-Snow, Terry Cooper and wife, Regina, Randy Cooper and wife, Linda, Jordan and Chelsea Knepper; great grandchildren, Megan and Kasey Snow, Zoe and Zachary Cooper, Jennifer and Melissa Cooper; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Pagni in 1984. Mrs. Pagni was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be remembered for her hospitality and charitable nature. A special thanks to"her angels", Dr. Chris Merchant and Ann, Vern Woods, Amy Baird and Liz Lopez for the loving care given to Florence. Perea -- Mr. Arthur (Artie) M. Perea, 47, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 27, 2000. Artie is survived by his beloved mother, Ramona Perea; one sister, Mary Martinez and husband, Steve; three brothers, Victor Perea and wife, Gloria, Robert Perea and Paul Perea; nieces and nephews, Steve Martinez and wife, Melanie, Thomas Martinez and wife, Christina, Jennifer Garcia-Salas and husband, Giovanni, Mark Perea and wife, Andrea, Denise Salguero and husband, Jessie, Audrey Candelaria and husband, Rodney, Robyn Moreno and husband, Jaime and Cassandra Perea; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Artie was a member of the Catholic Church, veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam era. Putnam -- Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Joseph W. Putnam, 81, died peacefully January 22 with family at his side. A resident of Albuquerque for more than 35 years, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Loraine Beatley Putnam. He is survived by his brother, Garnet Putnam of Strasburg, VA; son, Phil Putnam, daughter-in-law Lin Putnam and granddaughter, Hollie Putnam; daughter Bonnie Putnam Verardo and son-in-law Walter Verardo; daughter Donna Putnam; son Mark Putnam all of Albuquerque; son Michael Putnam, daughter-in-law Katherine Putnam and granddaughter Claire Putnam of Houston; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews in Virginia. Born March 2, 1918, in Hume, Virginia, to Joseph Pendleton and Mary Elizabeth Putnam, Joseph served during World War II as a B-26 pilot and in the Vietnam War as an airborne battle staff commander. During his 33-year career that spanned five continents, Joseph flew 6875 hours of left-seat time, including 1825 hours in combat. His last assignment in Albuquerque was as a high-altitude pilot flying the RB-57F with the 58th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron ("F-Troop"). During this time, he became the oldest man in the Air Force to fly in a pressure suit. He retired in Albuquerque in 1975 to spend time with his family, restore antique cars, and build"just about anything." A brief committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 28 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico, followed by burial alongside his wife and lifelong partner, Mary. The family wishes to thank his kind and loving caregivers and friends at The Cottages of Albuquerque where he resided for the last year. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions designated to fund stroke research be made to The American Heart Association. Rose -- Avis Rose, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since May 1999, died Friday, January 28, 2000. She is survived by her son, John R. Rose and wife, Viola of Raton; daughters, Virginia Ricketson and husband, Dwight of Albuquerque and Belinda Coppock and husband, Jack of Denver, CO; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Rose; son, Lawrence Morris Rose; and daughter, Loretta Barrett. She was born June 15, 1912 in Baker Springs, AK. Mrs. Rose married John L. Savoie -- Berchman"Burt" H. Savoie, born September 13, 1928 in Elton, Louisiana, son of Edward Henry and Bessie Marie Savoie, died peacefully at home on January 27, 2000. Burt served in the Navy during WWII and then attended the University of Houston. He married Blanche Burnett in September of 1951. They had three children; two sons and a daughter. In April of 1984 he married Jo Bules and with their union he inherited a daughter and two sons. He worked in the gas and oil fields in the Middle East and North and South America for over forty years establishing the infra-structure for moving products to market. Prior to moving to Enid he owned businesses in Albuquerque and Grants, New Mexico. Burt is survived by his loving wife, Jo; sons, Chip Savoie and wife, Eleanor, B.H. Savoie, Jr. and wife, Sue; and daughter, Patricia Woody and husband, Bob, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also survived by Ranell Brown and husband, Steve of Oklahoma City and David Bules and Greg Bules of Enid. Surviving grandchildren are B.H., III, James, Samantha, Jody, and Shilo Savoie, Alexander and Matthew Woody, Todd, Allison & Jason Bules, Matt and Meredith Brown; and great-granddaughter, Madison Bules. His surviving sisters are Lauretta Fluitt and husband, Fred, Bonnie Porter and her husband, Rudy and Mollyann Savoie. He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; and two sisters. Funeral Services will be Sunday, January 30, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Gregory's the Great Catholic Church with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home. Sena -- Lucy Sena, 85, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 26, 2000. Mrs. Sena was a resident of Albuquerque and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Sena. She is survived by her loving children, Steve Sena of San Francisco, CA and Josephine (Jo) Klein of Albuquerque; her precious grandchildren, Greg, James, Monica Ortega, Adam and Andres Sena; and her great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Erik, Mattias, Felicia, Chase and Chloe. Final viewing will be this morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today at 9:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Weinrich -- Phillip"Ed" Weinrich, age 79, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2000 at his residence in Datil, NM. He was born March 17, 1920 in Richmond Dale, OH to Columbus and Eva Osborn Weinrich. A cattle rancher all of his life, Ed owned ranches in Santa Rosa, NM. He enjoyed raising cattle, horses and leatherwork with the help of his family. He served in the US Army as an artillery anti-aircraft gunner during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of the home; sons, Edward (Bronc) Weinrich and Robert (Buck) Wienrich of Alberta, Canada; daughters, Gloria Suzan Weinrich of Datil, NM, Sherry Eva Wren of Rohnert Park, CA, Sally Phryne Kau of Leander, TX and Jane Spur Baker of Filer, ID; sister, Winona Dwyer of Metairie, LA; nineteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Cremation was arranged by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, Socorro, NM.
