My own father, who brought me up and taught me, who explained everything and took my hand and walked with me. Never again will I see your face, and in the morning, you will not wake me. Never again will I see your soft eyes shining. O my poor father, who never tired of teaching, loving, my heart aches now that you're gone. I cradled his head in my hands an saw that his eyes were empty. His old eyes, looking not on me but onto the Lord and Heaven above. And I saw then for the first time that he was no longer the giant I remembered as a child, but how small and frail he was, and I realized that without his soul he was so light and so thin that even I could lift him. And I raised up his body and clasped his head to my chest and a great cry came out that must have been mine, and I saw clearly as one sees a mountain that he was the only man I've loved who loved me to the end, who always lifted me up, who never bruised my heart, and never for a single moment failed. .....We mill you Onesimo. Sandy -- Jennifer Sandy Sept. 18, 1977- August 29, 1998It is one year today that you left in an instant and I've learned that it wasn't good-bye, but that you simply departed before us and we will meet again. I've learned that I took for granted your laughter, your natural beauty, that sweet smile that would warm up the room with your presence. I've learned that you graced so many people's lives while here and that they are now the blessings in our life. I've learned that goodness and blessings do come from tragedy and loss. I've learned that I am not the only mother who has lost a precious child and God knows this too. I've learned that we all have a purpose to fulfill, and that He will never leave us or forsake us. Forever, My Sweet Child, Love Mom.
